Hi Mel, you may be interested to know that I’ve just found you, yesterday. I’m 66 and suddenly (12 months ago) went completely grey. Super thin and extremely fine hair all my life, plus less now after menopause. Plus female pattern baldness and a bit of alopecia too. I loved your bob cut, so today I got mine done. Lol I went to a budget hairdresser, and took my Noriko Kenzie in Creamy Toffee R to put on after it was done. The hairdresser was fascinated by my wig, and like you I was suddenly 10 years younger! She said, wow I look so different! ☺️ I just smiled

@@MelsBeAgeless I just found you today! Like Jill I have the exact same issues with my hair! I didn’t realize after my hysterectomy 25 years ago I would be dealing with hair loss and thinning (no one ever warns you of hair loss. I thought it was my diet).
It’s gotten so thin. Especially in front and on top. I’ve been spray painting my bald spots. It’s fast and gosh it sure helps. I’m 63. I plan on getting this wig! I love the look! Thank you for sharing!
I was getting very depressed over my hair loss situation and didn’t think there was any hope for me. Until I found you!

I just turned 70 and my girls bought me this same exact color Raquel Welch wig, with a slightly different style, a bit longer on the sides. I absolutely love it!
PS: I have very thin, fine hair, and it is getting too thin to cover through hair styling.. So I got this beautiful wig! The rest of the time, I wear a baseball cap, and still have very long hair, but too thin on the scalp.. :/

I love the selfcare you give yourself, and you are so down to earth❤ I have noticed a lot of aging on my face this past year, but I usually only wear lipstick. I really thought you were a fabulous early fifty-something💕 I don’t really need a wig. My hair is much thinner than ever, no scalp showing. But the texture has changed and it’s difficult to manage. One of my friends made a comment about how nice my hair was, and how thin hers was getting. I said “This? This is a wig; my hair is thin too!” Her face lit up. We chatted for a bit about the advantages of wearing wigs (overslept? No problem!) and I told her about some of my favorite websites.

Great video. I have also embraced my grey. I went grey at 32 after a traumatic experience. My hair color never came back at age 50. I finally decided to stop coloring. I let my hair grow just a little bit and then went to a hairdresser and said, cut it to the gray. I got the cutest little pixie haircut, kind of like a Florence Henderson style. The next day I saw dozens of my friends at a major event, and not one of them noticed the change in my hair color. All they noticed was my great new hairstyle so you’re right people don’t notice gray hair as much as we might think they do as long as we do some make up and put on some beautiful lipstick.

Lol, had to smile - first wig and loving it. I think I owned 4 before I finally decided to actually wear one. No! I did not love them. I live in Australia, it’s VERY hot. I was a blithering mess of anxiety, there was way too much hair, and I was paralysed with fear that everybody would KNOW it was a wig. 2 1/2 years later I own 40+, many of them have been gifted, and I’ve purchased lots from a variety of retailers, always from the Clearance section. Nobody warned me that Wig Addiction is a real thing!🥴. Short and long, mostly blonde but now branching to darker shades, and a few greys. And a realisation along the way that I was in control of my actions, so I’d better ‘toughen up, princess’ and face my anxiety about wearing them head on. I came out on Facebook, no turning back from that 🙀. Welcome to the wig fraternity, there are lots of wig groups on fb filled with women just like us, supportive and loving our wigs.

Ive been wearing wigs for about 10 years now and in all the MANY videos I’ve watched I’ve never seen the transformation tip you give here of pulling out the hair on the sides and using a root coloring it in to match your wig. I don’t have a lot of hair on the sides but what I have I just pulled back with the wig grip and then used a root color on what is showing in front of the grip so this will definitely be an improvement as the hairs will just fit in with the wig hair! You are a sweetheart! 💕

I’ve been trying out various supplements over the last few years trying to overcome ME. Anyway, along the route my hair stopped falling out as much and is now more than twice as thick as it was. I'm also 66, but still have good hair - pepper & salt and a little grey at the gills, but basically still young-looking so l have never entertained the idea of a wig....But you're maybe changing my mind because that Rachel Welsh wig just looks so stunning on you!!

Donna, depends on the weather! no really, I live in a rainy climate so, the Root Powders are resistant to water and the root spray not. So it depends on if I'm on my bike and walking in that Dutch Rainy weather! I encourage to try both to see the which application is the easiest for you.

The Boldify Powder is rain resistant. The Root spray not so much. I only use a small amount to frame my face. Where I live, I always have an umbrella or rain jacket with hood. It rains here 90% of the time.

I'm 75. My hair started getting thin in some areas. I read about products to correct that and I was not excited about the drugs or the price. I found a product called HI PRO PAC, Extremely Damaged Hair REPAIR. Intense Protein Treatment. It is very reasonable in price and 1 package will give up to 4 Treatments. I applied it to my scalp and massaged it in. Using just enough water to get thorough coverage. I stopped using shampoo completely! I let the pac sit for a out 20 minutes and then rinsed thoroughly. I did this every time I needed to Cleanse my hair and scalp. Within a month I started seeing new hair in those patchy areas. It grew back in at the rate of about 1/2 inch a month. When I put this pac on I also apply it to my eye brows. They have improved also. I also am taking Dr. AXE'S. Ancient Nutrition Collagen (unflavored). It is very healthy for your hair, skin, nails and bones. I put a scoop in my coffee every day. Thank you for the tips to successful wig wearing. Blessings!

Everyone has to look in the mirror and decide what makes them look pretty. There are some long wigs that I’m just not comfortable in because of age. There are some short wigs that I think make me look even older. At the end of the day wear what makes you feel good. It’s about the confidence that radiates from within that is beautiful. Not the exterior. What are your favorite wigs?

    Hello Mel!
I too just found you and have watched two of your videos. I too am in my 60’s with long hair to my waist. I stopped wearing makeup probably 10 years ago. It seems that over the past few years the wrinkles have really come on and I don’t have much in the way of eyebrows but the worst is my hair. I have always had a high forehead and always had bangs. Now it has receded and my hair has gotten so thin from the sides, across the front and is thinning on top. It is very depressing because I hate how I look. 😢The grey and white is coming in and the individual hair itself is so fine. When I comb just my bangs, a few white hairs just fall out. It’s all so upsetting. I do have to say that you looked beautiful in that wig. I just subscribed. Thank you for such a good video.❤

You keep saying "brunette". Brunette is the "brown" family. The majority of this wig is light blonde, ash blonde, gray, etc. The only thing brown is the roots. If I wanted to go blonde, I'd buy this wig. I'm already a brunette.

    • @MelsBeAgeless

Jay, I did this video not to sell a blonde wig but to demonstrate how if the wig is brunette rooted or all brunette (In this case a Dark brown rooted wig and the cap on the inside is dark brown) how to blend my snow white hair into the dark brown hairline. Otherwise, the white hair shows through. Just trying to help with those who struggle with this.

So, you’re really not blending with your own color hair. You are actually powder coloring it to match the wig color. That’s great but a lot of futzing around to me. I really want a gray that more matches my own color so I don’t have to go through all of that but I must say you are very talented how you did that and it looks beautiful on you! I just hate wigs that are listed as gray but they aren’t, they are silver and the ones with the darker back but really silver to white in front are horrible! I like the blend of this wig but would like to see it outside in natural light like your wig sister Denise Sheets does. She is excellent at showing in natural the outdoors and it matters to a ton of us! TKS for sharing.🤗
