I'm a postpartum nurse, this is a great stash to bring! One thing I'll recommend is that you have a pediatrician lined up for the baby too :) we ask our moms for a pediatrician so the hospital can send the metabolic screening results (Phenylketonuria PKU test) to their office for your follow up visit. The hospital will have everything you need :)
Bring a folder for any paperwork they give you! And definitely go with the rolling suitcase. The less things you or your hubby have to haul around the better. Prayers to you and your hubby for what will be one of the best and most memorable experiences of your lives! ❤
I’ve delivered at 3 different hospitals now and they definitely have had everything I needed for baby and myself! I’ve never had weird brands for diapers or wipes (huggies or pampers). And don’t be shy to ask for extra postpartum stuff to take home with you!
I went to the hospital with everything you mentioned and ended up using nothing 😭 they had everything I needed. Everything happened so fast, when you are in pain you forget everything. The only thing I used was slippers, toothbrush, and a set of clothes. It’s good to be prepared though!
On the note of C-section...pack an extra bag keep in trunk so if u need more clothes/things for that longer stay its ready and u dont have to stress about hubby getting the things u need😊...good luck❤
I just had my first baby in May. They definitely will have everything you and baby need. One thing that is extra that my husband and I loved having was my laptop so that we could watch whatever we wanted together while holding our sleeping newborn. We had our daughter in the evening so we ended up staying all the next day as well. I feel like I packed not a whole lot, and it still was too much. Also, definitely don't pack tons of baby clothes. My daughter stayed in her diaper and got swaddled in that until we took her home, because so many people come and go checking on baby and you that it was just easier to have her already not clothed. I also just stayed in my hospital gown the whole time. I wouldn't even mess with pants after birth. The hospital gown was so much easier to breast feed in. Good luck! I pray a peaceful birth ❤
I won't lie, I got really stressed out after this video. I wish Michelle and all new moms patience and courage!! May God give them strength and health!!
For others watching this video, I recommend a carry on hard shell suitcase because it is easy to sanitize in the parking lot. That gave me a lot of peace of mind! We throw everything for me, dad, baby, and labor in there and it fits it all (that includes snacks!) One bag that fits everything and just spray it with lysol in the parking lot - easy peasy
Getting ready for our lil baby to come in a couple of days, and I absolutely love your hospital bag video. I’ve seen some others that pack so much and I find it stressful and pressure to buy a lot of stuff I may not even use. Reading the comments is also helpful to ensure I take the absolute essentials! ❤
Yes! Way too much stuff! You wont use half of it. But like you said, do what makes you feel comfortable… you’ll know more for the next baby. Also, your milk doesn’t come in for a few days so you won’t need the pads but what a beautiful miracle to have your babe nurse right away and get all that nourishing colostrum! Congratulations!! You are darling!! ❤
Yep, I used an Away suitcase for my first delivery and will be using it again in a few months for my next delivery. This time I’ll use packing cubes to be super organized. Baby’s items will go in a packing cube.
As long as you felt that you brought what you needed then that the main thing. Everyone has different situations and prefrences Overall congratulations and May God Bless you and your family 💖💖
A carryon suitcase seems nice but the problem with that is that you don’t know if you’ll have a nice area to lay it and easily open and close it. Seems like shoulder bags are just more practical and easy to reach in and grab whatever you need.
They have everything you need including wipes! (At least my hospital did). We used everything they provided and then took the extras home. I also would say the gown pajamas are the best! Especially the ones with the buttons so you can nurse easily. I did not want to put on pants at all lol. Congrats mama! 🤍
This was great! Thanks for sharing I’m currently 33weeks so I’m starting to think about this and want to be as prepared as I can. Wishing you well in the weeks to come!
I laboured for 37hrs and was sooo glad I overpacked lol! just a suggestion but maybe pack some clear fluid snacks (honey sticks, jello, gummies) cause I wasn't allowed to eat anything other than that 😢
Suit case is def easier to carry ,But this time around for #2 got a weekender bag and it’s such a nice size and it’s so cute!! (Hubby was the one rolling it anyways🙊😅😅 gonna make him carry it this time) Only thing I didn’t like (our suitcase was hardcover) was to keep it open and easy to access- it was wide open the whole time and had to find a spot for it (table or just the ground (it was carry-on size) closing it each time was to much of a hassle
The wet cloths are a thing, but I was told that is because it's gentler on their skin, you can ask for wipes if you want it. :) highly recommend your own towel, just cause it feels gross being in all the hospital stuff after a day.. but, totally up to you. I get not wanting to take it too. You're going to do so great!!
You are such a beautiful mama to be and are going to be an amazing mum. The hospital will have everything that you & baby will need ☺️🥰 most people only stay in the hospital for 12-24 hours. If you & baby are feeling well, some mothers are ready to go after 6-8 hours!! Unless of course you are having a C-section, than you have to be prepared for a bit longer. Do pack snacks!!! Sending blessings ❤
Thanks for sharing! We are due in Feb with a boy so I enjoy watching your videos so much. I feel like everyone else seems to be having girls haha. I do think a carry on luggage with packing cubes may be easier, that way you have everything there and separated for each of you guys.
So i never really liked anything velcro swaddles because they dont really seem to stick together and then it gets in the babies chin and gets irritating. But the night gowns are so great for bedtime and some socks and they are good to go! Kyte baby is so great! We love their baby stuff!
The first hospital I delivered at had wipes. But i delivered at a different hospital with my 2nd and they had dry wipes that you had to wet before use which I wasn’t expecting so I didn’t bring any wipes. Personally, I would just bring a pack to be on the safe side!
I would definitely recommend lanolin for nipple soreness! Since it's safe for nursing with baby, I felt like that was the only thing to provide relief in the first couple weeks. :)
I love how your hospital bag looks like!. Hope u have an amazing day, don't overwork urself and make sure to have enough sleep Michelle and to your family as well! :)) 😁.
looking forward to the baby boy's arrival!! best of luck to you and Aidan, (and Cash)!! i hope you manage to stay grounded and have faith. everything will be okay!
I had two babies at the same hospital & they provided literally everything. But now with my third I have to go to another hospital & they don’t even provide a water bottle, swaddle nothing haha it’s so bizarre but I asked for an itemized list of things they do provide & I’m so glad that I did!!!
Wow I had 4 kids and brought nothing - We used everything that hospital gives you - they were born and the next day we went home - I went home in the clothes I showed up in - my husband brought a pair of pjs for the baby and we had a car seat in the car that’s all we needed
Hi Michelle, I just found your channel and have been loving all your content. I’m due in April next year with a baby boy and was wondering if you could do a baby clothes haul? Thank you and hoping for a smooth delivery for you!
You have done a great job in preparing! I actually labored nude because I got so hot, and in so much "pressure" i couldn't have cared less. I loved my own disposable options than the hospitals, made me feel much more comfortable and myself. I after birth the only thing i wanted was a full shower because I got soo hot, and i just used a hospital bar of soap n hospital items. The hospital definitely had all we needed except clothing, chargers, pillows and blankets. For me i was extra sensitive to noise so ill be bringing my ear plugs.
I am not a parent or nurse. I am just a former hospital housekeeper. Ask for all the extra stuff they can give you and take everything from your room! It will just be thrown out otherwise
Yes love you are so correct! For every child I had my nurses gave me so much extras as well. They made me take everything with me. I leave the hospital with so many items every time.
Watching your videos make me feel so unprepared 😅 i very unexpectedly got pregnant so i know nothing about anything! Your videos have been so informative thank you. Im not due till April but time is flying so i need to get my act together 😂❤
So nice, you are set!! That nursing gown looks so great and the bras from target are really nice. I used that stroller fan while pushing, it was really helpful and attached to the bed easily 😂
We used a suit case the first time, this time I planning to do a weekender bag. The wheels you think would be nice, but we left with so much stuff we ended up using a card to take stuff to the car so the wheels didn't end up mattering lol
hi Michelle! not sure which hospital you are delivering at but Med City Dallas definitely had wipes. They let us take some home too! The only pp supplies they didn't have was dermaplast if you want to pack it.
Michelle your room looks extremely pretty and clean and I really love your hairs so so much you are my inspiration and I wish you have a fabulous week ahead😊💫💕
SUCH a memory throwback of my birthing experience last year ❤️ One thing I’d say is to pack food, like TONS of food. Because after birth, you can eat a cow 🤣
I brought a weekender bag like this because I felt ridiculous bringing a suitcase. It was great in theory but I had to dig through the whole thing to find something which was infuriating
Not sure if you'll need 20 ear plugs 😂 You've really thought of everything! I love that you thought of both a vaginal or C section. Best of luck in your final weeks.
I had 2 babies at 2 different hospitals. They had everything but clothes for the baby. For myself I just brought clothes and undergarments, snacks and phone charger
Hey! Will you be giving birth at Presbie or Baylor? If so I can probably give some insight into what they do and do not provide if you want. If you are doing cord blood etc remember the cooler. My sister's husband called my brother in a panic last November and sent him to presby with the cooler last minute so just a heads up! Wishing you, Aidan and baby boy the best!
When I gave birth to my daughter I hated the diapers and the shorts just because I always wanted to change it everytime I went to the bathroom and lifting my legs was so aggravating so I just used the hospital pads and that worked out for me 🤭
I agree with what you packed. Very minimal 👍🏻 I would skip bringing your own ice packs. They are bulky and It will save you space. They 100% have those at the hospital. The only outfit my babies wore was their “going home” fit. I did skin-to-skin the whole time so I didn’t pack options of clothes. Also, if possible bring an UNPACKED bag so you can bring home with you all the diapers/wipes/ postpartum stuff in your room, and any paperwork the hospital gives you.
I love how the title says “just the essentials” but you overpacked so much!😂😂😂 most of this you don’t actually need & probably won’t even touch at all.

I would love to see a video after you give birth where you tell what was useful or not 😊
Yesss I would love that too! As soon as you feel able to film again and all that ❤
Yes!!!
I went to the hospital with everything you mentioned and ended up using nothing 😭 they had everything I needed. Everything happened so fast, when you are in pain you forget everything. The only thing I used was slippers, toothbrush, and a set of clothes. It’s good to be prepared though!

Girl, your hair looks INCREDIBLE and so so healthy.

I can’t believe how fast it’s all gone! I’m now 15 weeks pregnant with my baby girl and loving all the content
Such an exciting time! Children are such a blessing from the Lord, and I’m so happy for you guys! 💐
As a third time mama, you have packed the perfect bag imo. I’ll be delivering in 4 week! Absolutely wild 💗 best wishes sweet mama 💗

the LYXBAGS would be super cute during the fall with a nude or tan or even tonal outfit! i’m thinking a tan wool coat with that bag!!
Time has just flown by!! I can’t believe it’s less than a month until baby arrives!
Yes! Way too much stuff! You wont use half of it. But like you said, do what makes you feel comfortable… you’ll know more for the next baby. noted!

The stroller fan is a game-changer. I had it on the bed, in the shower, in the tub, everywhere !
I cannot believe you are already in your last month!! Wishing you many, many blessings during this sacred time before birth.
Thanks for sharing! We are due in Feb with a boy so I enjoy watching your videos so much. I feel like everyone else seems to be having girls haha. I do think a carry on luggage with packing cubes may be easier, that way you have everything there and separated for each of you guys.
ahh congratulations! definitely thinking of switching to a carry on suitcase… seems a little more manageable 😅
@@michellereedg thank you! Congratulations to you as well :)

The clip bras are nice if you end up pumping. You can wrap them around the flange, then you don’t have to buy a pumping bra.
yes totally!
Put some pretzels in that snack bag!! That’s the only thing could stomach while laboring. Salty and dry is what my stomach could handle
I had two babies at the same hospital & they provided literally everything. But now with my third I have to go to another hospital & they don’t even provide a water bottle, swaddle nothing haha it’s so bizarre but I asked for an itemized list of things they do provide & I’m so glad that I did!!!

This video is GOLD! I agree you have the perfect amount of items. Oh and I’m a PP nurse 😅
Also, first time moms, don’t feel like you need to buy all the things, you really don’t need much 😊
Thank you...was feeling super overwhelmed!!!!
So exciting! You seem very well prepared.
You have done a great job in preparing! I actually labored nude because I got so hot, and in so much "pressure" i couldn't have cared less. Yes! Take the diapers and take the suction thing for mucus! The hospital ones are so much better than any you can buy
from a current hospital housekeeper I second this! you’d be surprised how much of it has to be disposed of once you leave
Yes love you are so correct! For every child I had my nurses gave me so much extras as well. They made me take everything with me. I leave the hospital with so many items every time.

Can you please repost the link for the nursing gown? I posted above but don’t think you saw it, the link is for the dagne dover bag ☺️
This is so helpful, delivering early February ❤
We used a suit case the first time, this time I planning to do a weekender bag. The wheels you think would be nice, but we left with so much stuff we ended up using a card to take stuff to the car so the wheels didn't end up mattering lol

Can’t wait to watch ❤ I hope you’re well!
doing really well, Maria! hope you’re having a good week 😇
The ten foot charger cord for the win 😊 🏆
Michelle your room looks extremely pretty and clean and I really love your hairs so so much you are my inspiration and I wish you have a fabulous week ahead😊💫💕
I didn’t use anything in my hospital bag besides toothbrush and my skincare before bed … oh and going home outfit obviously
Bring a good book 📕 to read! ❤
They definitely have wipes! My hospital had Huggies natural wipes
Good morning, Michelle! I'm so happy for you. Wish you always the best 💛
thank you always, Areli! ❤️
Perfect amount ❤
SUCH a memory throwback of my birthing experience last year ❤️ One thing I’d say is to pack food, like TONS of food. Because after birth, you can eat a cow 🤣

Very useful video my due date is 2 of January 😊
Sending love for your last month of pregrancy ❤

I had 2 babies at 2 different hospitals. They had everything but clothes for the baby. For myself I just brought clothes and undergarments, snacks and phone charger
me, not pregnant and not sure i even want to have kids, still watched/loved the video 😂
Also afterease for after birth contractions!
i would bring wipes! my hospital didnt have any, just pper towels u wet, and they looked horrible 😅
Hey! Will you be giving birth at Presbie or Baylor? If so I can probably give some insight into what they do and do not provide if you want. If you are doing cord blood etc remember the cooler. Always looking forward to see your videos 🧡
awh 🥺 thank you!
Bring your nursing pillow!
so are we supposed to take formula in case?
Can you get hurt or bleed with the combs
When I gave birth to my daughter I hated the diapers and the shorts just because I always wanted to change it everytime I went to the bathroom and lifting my legs was so aggravating so I just used the hospital pads and that worked out for me 🤭

Hand Sanitizer. If you have to start using a side-of-bed commode you will want that. :)
I sent my husband out for uncrustables and apple slices after I had my last 😂
I watching the video with one toddler and no intention for another one 😂
❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
Michelle, only 12 subscribers to go before my 800 subscriber mark!❤❤
sooo exciting, congrats! 💗
Thanks!
You could do a video with the things you bought for you not for the baby
If there’s still time 😅
I love how the title says “just the essentials” but you overpacked so much!😂😂😂 most of this you don’t actually need & probably won’t even touch at all.
I honestly used most things I packed! We had an extra night in the hospital than what I anticipated, so I felt well prepared 🙂
I thought Cash was the first baby 😢 I hope you’ll still always make time for him
💛💛💛💛💛😊
