As a tetraplegic who used to hike (and climb) a lot until some idiot changed lanes without indicating or checking his blind spot, thus running my car off the road, you (to borrow a phrase) had _me_ at "walks". Enjoy life, enjoy the outdoors, enjoy exploring, enjoy the highs and the lows of being entirely in the moment, and if, from time to time you care to share some of your explorations, then thank you, for you are a wellspring of joy in yourself. ETA: My brother has hiked the Camino two and a half times-once by himself, from Le Puy-en-Velay, the other one and a half times with his 4 children from St Jean Pied de Port. One of those nephews hiked it from Le Puy last season, and another has announced his intention to do so next season. They are all young people very accustomed to hiking, but do you think I can convince them to take a photo or two??
I am so sorry that happened to you.. For very different reasons than you - no money - I, too, live vicariously through these wonderful.people who do the extra work to bring the world to us - we are grateful to them. 🙏🌍🌎🌏🧭
Hi Nadine, great to see you again, thanks for the update! Looking forward to new videos and your next hike, but where you do it, that's up to you and your gut feeling to decide. What I think would be fun to see before then would be a summation of your, overall so far, very best and worst hiking experiences - and reflections on what lessons they have given. All the best from Sweden! 🇸🇪🥾👍
Yea, Nadine! I have questions about the following topics related to your Norway walk. 1. What are the options for a shorter walk...1-2 weeks? 2. Are any of the other St Olavs Ways an option for a shorter trek? 3. What are your thoughts on infrastructure/popularity of St Olav's...doesn't look like you can 'just walk to the next village', if accommodations are full.
Nadine, if there is any information you cannot find an English translation or need some verification of things that someone living here in Norway can get information for you easier, I am happy to be a resource you can reach out to. Loved the series here and it was amazing. I am here for any walks you do. You, more so than the routes, are the draw for me.
Hi Nadine! Lovely to see another of your videos. I LOVE the T-shirt! ❤ I also enjoyed very much your videos from Norway. I would be interested to hear your opinion on whether the Camino has changed over the years and in what aspects, since you've been doing this for many years now. The experience and advice you share in your videos helped me plan my first Camino last year, for which I'm very grateful. All the best from Serbia! Happy Thanksgiving! 😊
I would love to see a video identifying walks around from around the world other than the Camino. Basic info regarding distance, difficulty, daily budget and accommodation types would be very helpful.
I had no idea you had done the Scotland route..it’s on my bucket list! I am so grateful for your videos! They helped make my solo Camino Frances the best thing I have ever done. My problem is missing it daily! I have been back almost 5 months and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about it! 😍🥺
Thank you, Nadine. I loved following your walk in Norway. Our dream is walks in the UK or France with the same number of services (all price ranges) as the Camino Santiago. Maybe some day. Awesome shirt.
Via Francigena (about 1,600 km), Starts in Canterbury England and travels through France, Switzerland and ends in Rome. If you are feeling like you are in shape for Spring Break, The Cammino Celeste or “Heavenly Way" in Northern Italy (about 200 km with 6,636 meters of elevation gain).
In England… Offas Dyke. Stunning views, varied scenery. Highly recommended. Also Tour du Mont Blanc - France, Italy and Switzerland in one route. A fabulous walk.
Here is another Camino to consider. I haven’t seen any videos on it and with the reopening of Notre Dame in Paris why not start there. It’s the Via Turonensis. The starting point is the Tour St-Jacques a beautiful church in the heart of Paris. You pass through Orleans, Tours, Poitiers, and Bordeaux before reaching St Jean Pied de Port.
Lovely to see you back Nadine, really enjoy watching your videos.Any suggestions for my next Camino please, completed the Baztan last year and looking forward to another trip of around a week possibly finishing in Santiago this time but not essential.Best wishes from England.Stuart
Loved following your Norway walk & all of your magical footage of Camino walks were breathtaking and v. spiritual. I am planning my first Camino walk next year 2025 which is a Jubilee year and many pilgrims will be going to Rome & Jerusalem. I'm hoping to start my walk on the Pilgrim Way from Winchester to Canterbury, then stop in Paris to visit the reopened Notre Dame Cathedral, then pilgrimage Via Francigena thru some of Italy finishing in Rome. I will probably have to make a trip in late Spring and another in Autumn to achieve this. It may be something for you to consider if you do part of your Puy/Arles walk in France and perhaps discover some new Italy walks during this auspicious year. Buen Camino planning. Thanks for the tip on American Camino chapters and all you hard work on videos. Norway Camino is on my list for 2026/2027. Cheers Maggie 😎 California 💞
Great to see you again! I have always been intrigued by the England Coast to Coast, and a couple years ago I really researched the Ireland national trails system. Still trying to figure out when my own Camino Frances will be.
My friend and I have walked 5 countries; Nepal, Camino Santiago, Norway, Portugal Camino and The John Muir Way in Scotland. In May we are doing the St.Barbara Camino in Sardina. It is a miners’ camino. I think it is shy of 300 miles. This walking countries is a slippery slope, once you start you can’t stop!
In England the South Downs Way is excellent..The Southwest Coast path is pretty awesome. Also, you can start the Camino Inglese in Reading which is fairly new and growing. In Ireland The Dingle Way which goes around the Dingle peninsula looks interesting. There are some historic sites such as the beehive houses. Not my thing but …. The town of Dingle itself is great though it gets very touristy in the summer. Last time I was there I think there were more Americans than Irish 😎 The Great Atlantic Way was invented by the Irish Tourist Board so you need to work out your own route and there are some epic bits, such as the Cliffs of Moyer, etc. Just a few suggestions.
Hi Nadine, thanks for making these great videos! I would love to see you explore the idea that 'all roads lead to Rome'... Crossing the Alpes on foot will certainly be a worthy addition to your 'palmarès' 😄 It's always hard to pick a new hike because we can't do them all... 😢
Looking forward to wharever the next will be - your videos are sooo encouraging and keep the dream alive in between 😉 Suggestions: England: Lindisfarne Italy: The way of St Francis: Florence - Assisi - Rome France: Robert Stevenson Trail Enjoy your planning, its half the fun😊
Purely from a wishful thinking point, I've always wondered about connecting walks, for example, walking from Rome into Spain and connecting up with a Camino route? I have googled these things, but always run into mixed results or quite outdated information. Given your experiences and connections with the community, it might be interesting to see how one could do longer walks between some of the more popular routes, given the free time. I'd also like to see the Via Francigena, tho given it's length, I'd imagine this would be spread over a couple of seasons. Buon Camino!
i did the southern Jakobova Pot from Zagreb to Trieste in 2019. Lovely walk, great way to see Slovenia. Not as organised as the walks Nadine shows generally- no Pilgrim hostels, you just manage with guesthouse, hostels and others along the way.
Hellooooo, Nadine welcome back🤗 I loved all of the St Olav Way ... if anything, found the videos too short ... I craved more. It could have been because it is a country we know so little of. Future content & suggestions??? You should go back to South America ... all the way to Torres del Paine National Park in Chile to do either the 'O' or 'W' trail or both
Hi Nadine! Love your videos. Thank you so much for organizing more accessible information for these trails. My wife and I are planning 6 days from Lillehammer to Dombas in June. If you have any specific info about food resupply along this particular stretch we’d be so grateful to hear what you have to say. Please and thank you 🙏🏽
Sorry another question! We also plan on camping every night the weather permits - is this feasible from your experience? Did you see a lot of tent friendly, flat-ish space? Thank you!
I would love to see some of the French and UK Routes. There isn’t much footage on RUclips for routes like the Cotswolds Way or the Chemin d’Arles and your videos are so invaluable for routes like the Camino Baztan and Camino Vasco!! For the spring, some Camino trekkers have developed a route in Sonoma that they’ve called the Camino de Sonoma. It’s 6 days and it would be easy for you to make the flight to the West Coast!!
The C2C is my favorite trail in the UK. Some Camino pals and I plan to walk it again next fall. When I first walked it seven years ago, there were many people who had walked the Camino.
Questions - What made you choose the eastern branch of Gudbrandsdalsleden out of Oslo to Lillehammer over the western branch out of Oslo to Lillehammer? - Did you have any problems with ticks on Gudbrandsdalsleden? I noticed you sometimes had to walk thru high and dense grass,
This summer I did a hike in the Alsace region of France. I spent some of the time on the GR 6 and on a Camino that ultimately connects to other Camino routes that ultimately get you to Santiago. The Vosges mountains and picturesque little villages are magnificent. If you want to do something other than a Camino check out the GR 6.
Hi Nadine, looking forward to watching this series as i am planning the Gudbrandsdalsleden next summer. I would love to know how you chose between the west and the east route.
Loved your videos of your walk in Norway! I am interested in walks in England and Ireland. How about down in the southern hemisphere? Not exactly pilgrimages but hiking in NZ or Oz could be interesting for you. I live in Japan so there is the Kumano Kodo or the 88 shrines pilgrimage which someone mentioned below. But yes, Japanese summers are hellish with high humidity and heat so I wouldn't recommend doing it in summer. Anyway, Buen Camino to you, Nadine, wherever you go in 2025!
Perhaps during stormy weather season - would you consider a video on your filming techniques/materials/apps. Thanks very much. I’d like to made videos for my family. Thanks.
I would love to see UTMB. Most people take 10 days to do the 100 mile loop. What would make it helpful is because there are a lot of things to figure out for this walk. BTW, I agree small hiking world; I was hiking in FL last week and met a guy who also was born in Upper Darby at Fitzgerald Hospital like me.
There are some great pilgrimage routes in the UK. There’s also some great ones in France…. I’m not letting on too much till I have them under my belt….
Hi Nadine. Nice to see you well.... My recommendation do whatever path your feet lead you on, as these will always be the best videos, we can see you are enjoying it. Voie du Puy is Lovely. Voie d'Arles I loved, some French people find it not as "organised" as Le Puy, but to me that's a great attraction to it.... if you want to go Non-Camino, I loved the 88 Temple Pilgrimage in Shikoku Japan.....the people were so welcoming..... however not ideal for a summer Camino, Japan is hot and humid at that time..... I don't think there is any wrong answer, as I posted below I ended up walking the Southern Jakobova Pot (St-James Way ;-)) in Slovenia because it was there, and it was one of my favourite experience.... one step at a time.... buen camino from the meandering emu....
I have wondered sometimes what you would do if you didn't need to work for a living in a school. Would you mostly do long walks? From my personal experience and what I've read, the best long walks are in Europe. You might enjoy doing a hike around the Dolomites. I've been told by people that Argentina has some quite good ones.
Hello beautiful Nadine, love your videos ❤ as we are new to your channel we hv catching up to do 😀. Well wishes from Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Kenny and Michelle. Ps: Our beautiful daughter share your name 💛🤗
Via Francigena? I would love to see what you think of that route. Next May I’m meeting some friends to walk the Primitivo. But I am thinking about going back the end of June or July to walk from Lucca Italy to the Vatican with my 15 year old. Last year, her and I walked the Coastal Route from Porto. I’m hoping to hook her on long distance walking. So far, she has been enjoying it.
Thanks for videos. Chemin de puy or Camino Catalan. If looking at ireland there is a good channel “tough soles” made by a couple who recored a video for lots of the named walks there. or if Nadine wants to do a long walk again, the 88 Temples Pilgrimage in Shikoku
Your videos are awesome! I’ve always wanted to do a Camino. If only I could escape my current mindset of work work work… One day!!

I love Camino talk too
Te Araroa in New Zealand.
St Columba’s Way from Isle of Iona to the island ofLindisfarne across Scotland would be a coast to coast might be a possibility ??😊
If you liked the Peru Trek, then you may want to consider the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal.
Hi Nadine, always looking forward to your videos. I am considering a walk in Japan. There are Temple and Hot Springs routes. Take a look! Thanks
Via francigena in Italy? :) and where can we get Scott's great t-shirt?
Which sim card ( if you bought one) did you get for your phone when in Norway? Where did you buy it?
Hey Nadine, i really enjoy your Videos and i think Its time for a little microphone for better sound quality :)

Welcome back!
Would you consider hosting/guiding a walk for your viewers? Or perhaps create an itinerary for your favorite path walked on the Camino.
What dates did you walk the Norte in 2019? We did it that year, too! We walked it June 23-August 6! (Also, come back to Spain!!)
I was probably right behind you!! I only walked from Irun to Oviedo… started on June 30th and ended in Oviedo on July 18th :)

The Via Fracegina! We are doing that next fall.
Try the Juliana Trail in Slovenia
This may or may not be one that I just did a bunch of research on! 😉
@@NadineWalks Looking forward to it!! My wife an I plan to do it someday when we visit our cousins there. Would be nice to see your vids on it ... :)
I would love to see some US walks

How about the Via Francigena for 2025 or even just Florence to Assisi to Rome?
Just curious, any plans for Camino India??
Lycian Way, Turkey??

I heard a rumor there are some nice state parks and rolling hills in central Oklahoma that are good for hiking. 😂

Must be time for the Appalachian Trail 😊
was wondering what job you had to walk so much
