This test is based on the total internal reflection. The fake one has not been cut to effect total internal reflection on the base cuts, if it were it would pass this test, but would not show the desired double refraction flash effect from the top, only lighting up white. Also this test would work for detecting mossanite, the material has double refraction so it will cause a double image when viewed with polarized light. Tests are as follows, thermal pen check, visual inspection for flaws, polarized light check, and test with a laser or XRF to determine natural or man-made origin. CVD has hydrogen color centers, lack of trace elements, and a higher concentration of 14C isotope in it. 🤔❤

Normal people doesn´t have diamonds of that size. And usually normal people have their diamonds installed in to the rings, so how can you test a diamond like that.

The difference is nitrogen from what I understand. Also there is a filter jewellers use and they have updated their equipment to help spot the difference.. This is why a Jeweler can offer a reasonable amount of money for a real where as no jewellers will take a lab grown. As lab grown get better. So does the equipment to weed them out. And a piece of paper with a blue X and two different stones as they do not share the same refractive index. And using a fake stone that is more than double the size isn't a good indicator. Plus the actual diamond you have shows darker probably due to the amount of carbon involved. But the fact still remains you used two very different test models.

unless the refractive index of the fake is extremely divergent from real diamonds, which i do not believe to be true beyond the variables of stone dimension and internal light reflective patterning... this test assesses the parameters of a stone's cut/dimensions more than some imaginary definitive test for authentic diamonds... fyi: some of you should brush up on your science before being so condescending to others even if you think you "get it", lol.

Cubic Zirconia is nicer than the real diamond (my opinion). I only prefer the real thing because of the edge sharpness, hardness and to say I got real diamonds. But CZ's still shine brighter and sparklier

Cubic Zirconia is nicer than the real diamond (my opinion). I only prefer the real thing because of the edge sharpness, hardness and to say I got real diamonds. But CZ's still shine brighter and sparklier
