I am watching and following your tips from your video from a week now. Yes I am a beginner. And I really enjoy the way you make content. Good question! In plain water there is enough oxygen molecule for the roots to respire
In water saturated soil, 1) microbes are also competiting for oxygen
2) additionally microbes find moist condition favorable to start attacking plant roots.
Some plant roots are hardy and can sustain against that attack but some can't. So, in conclusion lucky bamboo prefers soil drying out between Waterings
