"To be fair, that planet just got out of nowhere, ok? - and where are the breaks on the bloody enterprise?" LOOOOOL Marina Sirti, you are wonderful. Love you.
Loved her in First Contact when she got drunk, man, she could do comedy such a treat. I never stopped laughing and kept repeating that scene. Marina keeps the conventions so light and funny. She really should have her own show.👍😻
Disappointing that there were hardly anyone attending this talk. My husband & I were there though and we met her in Germany at Fedcon. Such a lovely lady.
I hope Marina's unpopular talks haven't been because all this hate her character gets in RUclips comments translates to real life even. She seems to be possibly the second most hated TNG character, but quite a few steps below Wesley. It's quite sad. I wouldn't want to be a fan of this show and yet harbor so much resentment for certain characters like these people apparently do. Hopefully they aren't just looking for characters to pick on and don't actually dislike them this much, but perhaps that would somehow be less severe of a conclusion in some ways.
Can we talk about the fact that Troi’s crashed the Enterprise TWICE. She was at the helm in Generations when they crashed landed on Veridian III and she was at the helm when the Enterprise rammed the Scimitar in Nemesis.
@@leif1075 Troi crashed both the Enterprise - D and E, one got to be repaired via spacedock, the other was left down on a planet (this was before Picard Season 3 of course!)
"Then it was pretty much any chick in red who happened to pass by. 'Here. These are the keys. Go drive the Enterprise. And while you're down there, be 'nice' to Data. He gets lonely on his own down there.'" Getting hot on that bridge, eh?

To be fair, River was in command and failed to keep Geordi away from engineering…. And Beverly, apparently, didn’t bother to inspect the VISOR after he was returned.
Samantha Cranford She's hilarious and really lovely to meet to. I'm glad I had the opportunity to book a photo op, probably one of my favourite celebrities that I've ever met. :)
Neither was really cut out for security though. Casting didn't apply a reasonable standard, setting up whoever got cast for failure. They should have hired some ex-olympic athlete or pro-wrestler or someone along those lines. ...though Marina could've carried an interesting character, sorta like Starbuck in the Galactica remake, but 20 years earlier), with a crash weight training course or a muscle suit or something ;)
To be fair, you don't have to be super brawny to head up security. That's what underlings are for. You just have to be skilled enough to pin them to the floor in the obligatory "training session" scene.
Colorme Dubious I think it's cultural, because this crowd's reactions seem normal to me, whereas American audiences of any kind of live entertainment except sport events, always seem way more loud and enthusiastic than I'm used to as a Brit. Irish audiences are probably more like British audiences than the American audiences that most of these ST panels are held for, and here (at least in the South of England; the North doesn't have the same reserved culture) even when comedy talk shows are being pre-recorded, the audience makes very little vocalisation other than laughter. There's little or no whooping and cheering.
'Why does it always have to be a woman driving when the ship crashes' um...because star trek is occasionally realistic? 😂😂😂 Just kidding. Tongue-in-cheek 😛 😉

She is so funny right? She needs her own stand up special.

"You burned a lot of bridges, Marina!"
In this case, quite literally! :D
Gotta love her south London accent nice to see she's kept it over the year's.
Disappointing that there were hardly anyone attending this talk. My husband & I were there though and we met her in Germany at Fedcon. Such a lovely lady.
:( I went to see her at a con in New Jersey and there was literally no one in her line. She was the only reason I went!
Is she as funny in person? I want to see her somewhere, preferably outside of FL where I live.

@@pathogenofdecay Which of her talks were unpopular? I've never heard that? Thought all her talks were popular.
I met Gates McFadden back in the 90s
The Enterprise was driven by Majel Barret in the original pilot for Star Trek.
yeah but she was fucking the producers
Marina tells these stories everywhere she goes.
Can we talk about the fact that Troi’s crashed the Enterprise TWICE. She was at the helm in Generations when they crashed landed on Veridian III and she was at the helm when the Enterprise rammed the Scimitar in Nemesis.
She says that during the video.
"And never a scratch on it!".... lol
She gets to crash it TWICE!!! LMAO!!!!
...Well she was responsible for the rebuilding of at least one bridge during her time.
What do you mean?
@@leif1075 Troi crashed both the Enterprise - D and E, one got to be repaired via spacedock, the other was left down on a planet (this was before Picard Season 3 of course!)

Did you regret that decision after the fact?
Driving and Crashing The Enterprise, With Marina Sirtis, Counselor Deanna Troi
I can't believe they put her at the helm again for the 3rd time
The lovely lady... My love ❤❤❤
Deanna crashed the Enterprise, but, Kirk blew his up, I'd say Deanna did a better job... :D
No. She didn't. She had a fail. Kirk had an epic fail.
@@Renji9031
Kirk gave them a fighting chance to live,... Deanna a long walk on a barren planet

Sir Old Baldie. Brilliant.
Wow beautiful lady still my favorite character Deanna troi
I didn't want to hit like, it was at 420 hahahaha 😂😂😂😂 and I just LOVE HER!!! She is in my top 5 for fav women on the planet!!!!

*too
Angie A in super jealous!! But I've met quite a few of my favorite celebs so that helps LOL congrats on meeting her!!
I like the "Mirror, Mirror" counselors uniform.
She's so much better than her character.
b003 no kidding. They should’ve just let her play herself.
She was originally going to be Yar and Denise was going to be Troi... We will never know what that future could have looked like.

@@jv-lk7bc on the contrary. I think Denise Crosby did a masterful job portraying a security officer. She conveyed real authority & confidence.
She could drive me anytime anywhere
Marina is wearing Go Go boots 🖖
Gotta love the Brits!!
3:20 :O Star Trek is real!!! I knew it! :P
Dead Crowd.
I was just going to post a similar comment. They're literally just barely tittering at some great stories!
ok, so she has awesome legs, and is obviously proud of them. Yet they put her in leggings for 99% of the show.... WTF...
Paul Anderson who gives a damn she's hot
that was because the cheerleader outfit didn't suit her, and then she hated all her other outfits till they decided to give her a uniform
Why does it always have to be a woman driving when the ship crashes?
Because Sulu's just too good.
It's not driven, it's flown. That might be her first problem.
you got paid a lot to crash and not get sued.
She's so....British
Wow she has nice legs
She is a gilf for sure.
albertusj only her husband can touch her legs
That's what you think as many would go to jail just to touch them.
albertusj. - and generally sexy body! 😀
The only problem with her is she has tats and I don't touch a woman with those and it makes any woman just look common.
This was a DEAD audience. Holy crap.
They should have replaced Diana's character with Marina Sirtis. Would have been more entertaining to watch her just be herself
The audience is strangely nonresponsive. This story usually gets a much more emphatic reaction at cons.
