We all need to start doing these things again. When I was little my grandmother had 3/4 of her yard just exploding in food. Her strawberry patch was really beyond. As a grown up I can look back and be in awe of how beautiful and tasty those berties were, and how lovingly she cultivated those plants. Heres to Irma. I miss you grandma. And I appreciate all of the self sustaining things you taught me.
idk how the hell people did it. i mean.... seems like nowadays it's so fkking *technical*! i get the drip irrigation, that just saves time and effort and you don't stress the plant in hot environments. but.... starting seeds early, growlights, greenhouses.... wth were people doing to make gardens work previously??? :,(

I did the seed drying that you showed and I have yet to plant them. Your channel encouraged me to plant like a crazy woman. So I went to Dollar Tree where they actually have 10 gallon grow bags or at least they did. I planted potatoes and my dirt was wet when I planted them so I was thinking they may just rot because I know your not supposed to plant potatoes in wet ground but I prayed and asked God to bless everything In planted. And wow, they are beautiful! I planted beets, celery, lettuces, squash and bell peppers and green beans. I get told all the time how good everything looks. I've inspired my neighbor to do container planting too. I have yet to grow corn and cucumbers. I will though. I've done all this in baskets that I either used a grow bag inside them or a blue Walmart bag and everything is doing great. I have strawberries that my grandkids come and check regularly. It's all worth it just for that. I showed them how to pinch off the leaves of the beet tops and the tops of lettuce to eat and my 5 yr old grandson loved it. Him and his friend are alot and the plants have just rebounded. I planted perrinial flowers and all kinds are coming up. I found out I can grow flowers from seed quite well. I love it! None of the management has complained either.
@@ankitasaxena5891 it is kinda fake, strawberries from seed won't bear fruit like this in the first year, I'm sure they fudged it to look better, however strawberry plants send out a root node stem that creates a new plant when it hits the ground, this is called a "runner", if you grow this you can get a decent harvest in the same year.
Such simple and clear instructions. I planted the harvested seeds and just decided to see what came of it. Slow and steady growers, these have become my delight. Happily anticipating flowers and possible fruit in the months ahead. Thank you!
My strawberry seeds germinated and grew OVER TWO DAYS. i see seedlings after just 48 hours, crazy! This was very helpful, especially the part about drying the seeds off first. Whenever I tried planting the seeds with the flesh still on it molded. Now I know what to do. Thanks. 😊
usually you think a fruit might drop its seeds and then the seed can germinate and grow. but i guess strawberries are even more specific that it should not be in or around the flesh otherwise it may get moldy.

Thank you it actually work I planted the seeds cover with plastic until germinated. After couple weeks I bore holes in the plastic to get use to the humidity after a week I remove the plastic. They are still small so waiting for them to get bigger .
A few more tips: 1) If growing in pots, add small, red lava rock to the soil surface once the plants are large enough. This reduces bird damage, they can't differentiate the rocks from the berries and will give up. It also helps repel slugs and snails. 2) In pots, put a line of copper foil tape around the rim of the pot to further protect from slugs (the biggest strawberry pest), and set the pot in a saucer that is kept full of water. The water keeps ants out, and the strawberries grow better if water is wicked up from beneath instead of getting water on the surface. 3) Divide your plants into two groups. The first is the fruiting group. Alway remove the runners from these pots so all energy is focused on the berries. In the second group, remove all flowers and only cultivate the runners so you have new plants the following year with much less effort. Production is severely reduced in 2-3 years so new plants are essential. 4) 15 Plants = 1 Quart of berries (some variance depending on the type and cultivar). So generally, you plan about 50-60 plants per person. I go with 60 per person in the following proportions: 15x June Bearing 15x Everbearing 15x Day Neutral 15x Alpine Among these, it's best to get 2-3 cultivars of each to stagger the ripening date so you have a continuous supply. 5) For cooking, preserving, do a separate plot of a single June Bearing cultivar, and plan for 300 plants per person. When strawberries are cooked down, they reduce a lot, so you need much more if you plan on cooking with them vs eating fresh. 6) When field planting, space 12" apart. So 300 plants take just over 324²ft, or 18' x 18'. While they can be planted closer than this, it will lower yields and increase fungus issues. 7) While strawberry plants will grow in the shade, bright sun is critical for fruit ripening.

This week is teacher appreciation week here in USA 🇺🇸 so i want to say thank you for being a wonderful teacher and passing along valuable knowledge to the world.
Don't buy the sweetest strawberries, instead by the ones out of the organic section. Most strawberries that you get from the grocery store are cross-pollinated. In other words the strawberries from the cheap shelf will grow more like a cartoon picture of a strawberry and be nowhere near as sweet. As where the organic strawberries should grow more bumpy with weird shaping but be far more delicious.
Also as your strawberry start to ripen some of the leaves will start to yellow this is a magnesium deficiency you can feed your strawberries very easily without affecting flavor with a product called calimagic it's calcium and magnesium plant food
Fantastic! Just subscribed, you made me feel much more confident in my attempt to do this. I started a week ago, so far no germination, but I didn’t know about the plastic wrap trick. Will do this right now. Thankyou
Sir Can you please make a series on plants that can be grown without much sunshine as where I live, there is not much sun rays coming and most of the plants i grow dry or even dont grow Thanks
Geez…..wish I knew this before planting this year….wasn’t a bumper yield this year and since it was my first time planting Strawberries, I waited too long in harvesting and the rain made them mushy…..will know better next season…..and I bought June bearing and wish I had bought some Everbearing…..used two flower boxes on the deck…..👵🏻.
In the US, a lot of fruits and veggies are hybrids or radiated, and won't produce good seeds for fruit. But I threw out some pinto beans from the trash onto the ground, and 4 days later they had sprouted! So I planted them. The trash had inoculated them. Funny.
If getting fruits/veg that you wanna sprout seeds from, check where the brand supplies the fruit/veg from. If it is from inside USA, it will not be radiated and will be able to grow. I did this, shaved a side of strawberry with yellow seeds on it and decided to use the paper towel method and put the strawberry seed skin thing onto it, I checked it today and although it’s very small and very hard to see there are indeed green sprouts coming from the seeds!
I just poured my strawberry smoothie out of my blender and ran water over them to clean them. Put them in a fine mesh strainer and wash them. Them put them on a paper towel to dry. Then plant.
I wanted to ask you that I don't have those different types of soil can I just use my gardening soil only? And one more thing, I watch your videos everytime and I just noticed that my chillies grew!
AAAAAAAAAA i used to play roblox all day and night, i got a shock of plant-growing love and started buying soil and all types of gardening supplies to plant my own garden, i'm aiming for strawberries now! ty, this vid was so very helpful-

Sir
Can you please make a series on plants that can be grown without much sunshine as where I live, there is not much sun rays coming and most of the plants i grow dry or even dont grow
Thanks
Tip: if you want bigger and sweeter strawberries 🍓 cut the first flowers of the plant only if it’s the plants first year and or first year of fruiting
Omg thank you!
Omy godness thank you for this video tutorial is amazing!!!! BLESSINGS coming your'e way!!
So beautifully and simply explained, thank you
Thank you 💐
In the US, a lot of fruits and veggies are hybrids or radiated, and won't produce good seeds for fruit. But I threw out some pinto beans from the trash onto the ground, and 4 days later they had sprouted! So I planted them. The trash had inoculated them. Funny.
Go to farmers market ..usually they are picked packed n sold all organic 😉💯
If getting fruits/veg that you wanna sprout seeds from, check where the brand supplies the fruit/veg from. If it is from inside USA, it will not be radiated and will be able to grow. I did this, shaved a side of strawberry with yellow seeds on it and decided to use the paper towel method and put the strawberry seed skin thing onto it, I checked it today and although it’s very small and very hard to see there are indeed green sprouts coming from the seeds!
Imagine if the radiation caused a mutation in the genes that cause them to grow something extraordinary
Then go to a farmers market
HAHAHHA I LOVE THAT
