- Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious was the second and final season of Pussycat Dolls Present that premiered on February 18, 2008 on The CW, and aired for a total of eight weeks.
The show was filmed in the summer of 2007, and followed aspiring female singers/dancers competed in order to claim their spots to become the group "Girlicious". Girlicious is the creation of Robin Antin, creator of The Pussycat Dolls, who in the first season was searching for the next doll, but was now searching for an entirely new pop group by the name Girlicious. Girlicious, unlike the Pussycat Dolls, was a more urbanized, all female trio. This is the format for the second season of the Pussycat Dolls Present series, focusing mostly on female dancers/singers, looking for fame in the music industry. This season features 15 young women competing for the three slots open. The contestants are: Alexis Pelekanos, Carrie Jones, Cassandra Porter, Charlotte Benesch, Charlye Nichols, Chrystina Sayers, Ilisa Juried, Jamie Lee Ruiz, Jenna Artzer, Keisha Henry, Kristin McCallum-Vlaze, Megan Dupre, Natalie Mejia, Nichole Cordova and Tiffanie Anderson.
The album was released on August 12, 2008 and their first single, "Like Me" premiered on April 23 right after the finale of the series. The same day, "Stupid Shit" was released. A third season of Pussycat Dolls Present was planned, but then the show was officially cancelled due to its low ratings.

You always said Charlie had an ego but she was just honest and smart. She knew Nathalie was a cancer. This girl ruin the groupe inside.

She kept Charyle this week Secretly hoping she would let it all go and decide the drama isn’t for her etc but no, so they kept the 4 instead of 5 for the group. or I feel (Christina’s my fave)but they would have eliminated Christina instead of charlye and kept the other 3 along with her for the group.
I agree. But I think she knew she couldn’t cut Charlye or Tiffanie based of talent and wanted to keep Natalie for her looks so the only option was to keep all 5 of them and cut them later which she did with Tiffanie. Another theory.
Robin cared about getting them famous - therefore this show produced by someone with the same last name as Robin..
Thay want to make money on the backs of young women..
There is a reason why even Nicole & every other PCD is not getting along with Robin. Nicole & Robin will meet in court..
Robin made mad money by using young talanted, attractive women & taking any cred, money & publicity from PCD & this bcs she owns them.
She wanted another group with even worse contracts. Were young girls gladly sign something similar to a slavery contract, to try to reach their dreams..
She's a predator in a sence. On the look out for new young victims to make money on..

The top 5 Buttons performance is one of my favourites. All 5 together sounded soooo good!
I really appreciate Tiffanie putting her differences aside Chrystina & Natalie and trying to get along with them...It goes to show how humble she is 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
And for what ? She was very poorly treated on Girlicious and said later she needed a therapy during YEARS to be able to handle this. Charlie was smart enough to understand this group was not a good thing for her even if it was meaning the crush of her dream career.

@@katharinebisset8348 In this kinds of situations one has to look at who started it. Which imo it's Natalie and Chrystina by being a catty duo from day 1. Tiffanie and Charlye are aggressive but they aren't truth twisters. Natalie even walked out on Ken and then tried to twist that! That was only the tip of the iceberg the judges saw and decided to forgive, not realizing there was all the rest of the iceberg with the other girls.
Drama aside they look really good as a five piece band.
I think that if the judges felt like Charlye got alone with Chrystina & Natalie it would’ve been 5 of them

The funny thing is, making Charlye think she was going home and then keeping her was a test, and then she failed it the next episode 😂

Right like everyone forget the first few eps when the moved into together and we’re making fun of the other girls
Honestly speaking, these 5 ladies are GIRLICIOUS! They let Charlye go.
The How Many Lies song was beautiful. That is the perfect register for Natalie’s voice. Even Tiffanie finally nailed her parts and didn’t over sing for once.
Favorite part of performance is nathalie’s part in how many lies she has so much swag!

I never understood the criticism of her voice, she is literally perfection. Better than Britney Spears in the category of performing.

Chrystina and Natalie had their vocals re-recorded and edited for the episodes that aired on TV. Maybe you’re the one under a rock if you didn’t know that.
Natalie and Christina like bashing other girls, then acting like the victims when they get called out 🙄 With that said, their performance at the end was one of my favourites of the season. They should have kept all 5 girls as the final group. The judges really liked Charlie, and Christina actually sounded really good 🤷🏻♀️
I have a feeling they were really thinking about doing that, especially because Charlye was really talented, but she just couldn't let it go and work with the other girls.
Yes Natalie was the first mean girl of the house than when she was outnumbered played victim. Chrystina was just a follower.

It’s really interesting watching this back and hearing the audio difference for Charlye’s critiques and deliberations - seems like they edited those in after the fact. I would love to see unedited clips from this show or an interview with Charlye spilling the details because something more went on there for sure

I'm here starting to rewatch this episode after a while and already cringing because I remember how badly Chrystina messed up, and not only once... and they still kept her!
2024 and I still listen to this cover. Same goes for ‘ how many times’! Also still listen to Chrystina’s cover for ‘ what above love’
It's really interesting rewatching this so many years later and knowing everything that went down. At the time I used to LOVE Chrystina but even I couldn't understand why she was given so many chances, like this week she really BOMBED both interviews. But boy were they right about the fact that she just needed a little time to blossom, because in the actual group, after the show, she was the bomb and we can say that she was actually the lead singer of the group. In the performances she just stood out so much, the best live vocals and really good dance moves, she was trully the whole package.
I was thinking this too! After Tiffanie, Chrystina was easily the best singer. I still get chills listening to her bridge in Wake Up on the second album. Her voice is so powerful. I still don't understand why they picked on her so much because she was pretty good already. Her vocals weren't even bad in any shape or form, but I guess they knew she could do better which we saw when she was in the group.
Idc Natalie was not as bad of a singer as they made her out to be. She sounds really decent
I agree. She might not have been a "strong" vocalist but I really liked her sound. Very sultry and it does blend into a group nicely

This episode was critic. Here we can see that Charlie doesn't click with the other girls as a Group, and we all know how it ended.
I always said in an alternative universe, Nichole, Tiffanie and Charlye would've made a good group. However, after hearing this performance, I can see why they didn't pick Charlye. Like Carrie, Charlye's voice doesn't blend well. Tiffanie has a powerful voice but since episode 3 when she was told to tone it down, she has and it made her blend in better. I think it's a case of Charlye never really receiving any bad feedback and so, she never made efforts to change her vocals. She's an amazing singer regardless and I wonder what it would've been like with her in the group.
Well the worst part is that she wasn’t even trying…I totally get that maybe she was hesitant to try due to past issues with them but it looked like she didn’t even wanna bother and already knew what was gonna happen

It makes sense why Charlie didn't get picked to be apart of the group. She wasn't a team player.
I know this is like 2008 and I know who gets through because I've seen their videos back in 2009/10 but how can they expect to be in a band with one another if they don't get along?
After that happened in the group on 2009, glad Charlie followed her heart. They kicked Tiff..Charlye would be Kicked too. The other label saw the group just with...Chrys..Nic and Nat. It was a pitty.

I think Charlye assumed that eventually Natalie or Chrystina would've been eliminated at some point and when she saw they likely weren't (because of their looks) she started to back out

Chrystina had a few bad weeks and Natalie had attitude problems and wasn't as vocally skilled as the other girls.
I'm not saying they aren't talented, I just don't think they would've been given as many chances as they had if they weren't as pretty and I don't think Robyn would've made the group bigger to include them. They're marketable because of that and Robyn knew that, especially Natalie.
Anyone else thought the pole was kinda pointless since no one in this show ever did any tricks or spins on it? 😂

Knowing that Chrystina was pregnant and the other girls knew that makes me wonder if that's the major reason Charlye was saying that there's a lot of things about her that she doesn't care for, having a child born out of wedlock
Actually, Chrystina said in her YT video that none of the girls knew that she was pregnant at the time. Not even Natalie. I believe only Robin and the producers knew about it. That's why they kept giving her chances - probably felt sorry for her and didn't want a lawsuit.

The problem is that this show actively undermines its own goal of having a cohesive group by *being* a reality show, which thrives on tension. Any resultant group that didn’t include people who were already close-knit was doomed to failure from its inception. You can’t have it both ways…

Charlye was laughing at her during the previous episode while they were in rehearsal (and while they were filming the music video), so she kind of deserved it.
Chrystina was the full package even though she was also presented as the most “flawed” on the show. Anyone who watched them during their brief success as a group recognizes why she was chosen.
Natalie and Chrystina were marketable. And good live performers. Interestingly, Nichole was the weakest live performer when the group launched.
I wasn’t familiar but I just looked up some lives and you see to be right- Nichole really lacked energy live and Chrystina had leader vibes. Too bad she’s a homophobe now
i think charlye's biggest fear was getting stuck in a group with chrystina and natalie thats why she didn't try as hard

They were testing Chrystina. Even when she was in the bottom two I saw a few people who could of been there over her. Charlye even said it the first time she went for respect "Chrystina shouldn't of been in bottom two" and someone else said "they made her sweat." And they did Chrystina ended up being the stand out of the group she shined the most. But they probably was putting pressure on her to see if she was strong enough to deal with a thickle industry. They made the right call with her.
They were mad that Chrystina and Natalie were isolating themselves even though they were just talking mess about them????

Ok can we be very honest here for a minute? The better looking girls would’ve made the group regardless of talent. Mediocre voice or dance moves or not, they would’ve made it. (Talking about from the beginning). After Ilisa’s elimination I realized it was never about talent but about making a teeny bop version of the Pussycat Dolls. They were always going to put either Tiffanie or Charlie in the group to have that urban feel that they were initially going for. Chrystina’s sound and look could be considered ambiguous. Natalie was gonna make it. Mediocre voice or not. She has the look and Nicole was the only blonde who was well-rounded.

The group didn’t last because they kicked Tiffanie out for having a look and sound that was too urban and were (racist, basically)

Chrystina had a voice that blended, stage presence, she was also the strongest dancer alongside Natalie. On top of that, lie you said, her looks were marketable. Robin Antin worked with Chrystina exclusively once the group broke up. So it’s kind of obvious why she made it
not gonna lie ... the way some of u hype up certain ppl in the show when in reality i think they are all kinda rude bitchy weird ppl bc some of the stuff theyve said made me side eye them . the only ones in my opinion who were actually cool and nice were carrie and ilysa , casandra ,
Jaime and Alexis were alright too, the others were all bitchy at one point
charyle probably regrets not putting her ego aside and actually giving natalie and chrystina a chance and make amends with them. she lost out on a great opportunity because she didn’t want to get along with them.
