That's because Italians in Italy never wanted to acknowledge those born abroad until now(because its a big market to make money from but they don't really give a shit about Italians born abroad)
I'm from Sardinia and i can tell you Anna you are absolutely loved by the people. (especially long ones) . BTW i'm really impressed by her english , not really used to hear something like that by an italian !
I was seeing a lot of instagram comments on the reels giving her hate because of her “chilling” response and what she said about italian americans but now that I saw the full interview she seems real down to earth. Awesome podcast guys keep it up
I am going to say this here. I've never understood why so many people were hating Anna during the first one or two years of her career. Even at the time of Drippin in Milano and Fast, the comment section of the videos were full of haters. But she was putting out only fire and people hated regardless. Really, since I heard Bando I knew she was fucking good at rapping and all the other songs she made after Bando were even better. I honestly think this was because she is a female, because I didn't see other male rappers getting that kind of hate. This being said, now I am so happy to see that she has earned the respect that she deserved for her music since the beginning. Grande Anna 🔥 (e complimenti per l'inglese!).

A lot of European rappers speaks pretty much fluent English but you rarely see them rap in English because in hip hop the most important thing is the ability to express yourself. A lot of them will start out in English actually but it’s really hard to be able to be natural in English if youre not on a native level. Young lean is basically the only one. Rap in Spanish and French has been quite popular all over Europe for 10 + years and in the last couple of years Italian, German and Dutch rap have become more and more popular. I am Northern European but I listen to French, Spanish, Italian, Korean and Dutch rap and I don’t understand anything. Rap is more about Vibes, flow and melodies nowadays anyway so understanding the words are not as important. A lot of these artist are touring all over Europe and sell out similar venues that American rappers like Kodak black and lil durk would play in Europe.
She is 2 years younger than me. Kids our age grew up on social media, watching ig lives from american influencers, youtube videos in english and netflix series in english. The newer generations are gonna speak more and more english
