    Please never never ever let your hair stay in your conditioner for more than a few minutes!!! Conditioners are not hair masks, they make your hair soft for a reason: they break off your structure, and make your hair TOO soft if you let it stay in the conditioner for too long, too soft= more breakage. Especially if you have thinner hair, don't do it

    • @kkamhun96
      @kkamhun96 5 месяцев назад

      what would you recommend to replace a conditioner then? would hair masks be ok to use all over your hair including scalp too?

    • @jasminevdh6375
      @jasminevdh6375 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@kkamhun96 you can use a conditioner but you have to wash it out after a few(!) minutes. Otherwise hair masks can be used all over you hair, but make sure to not use them too often, since they might be too heavy and weight down your hair, I would be careful what to use on your scalp, shampoo is for the scalp (and only the scalp) and conditioner for your lenghts (never for your scalp)!!

    just gonna share to all the amber baes out there and amber herself - i usually dilute my shampoo in a small bucket (i use tabo, a small filipino bucket) so it’s not too concentrated in one area, but it’s evenly distributed all over. i pour it the way amber used her rice water, so the liquid can naturally work its way down while holding a bowing position. scrub ya scalp. it’s easier to lather it up also. this is just part of how i do it tho 😭

I just use regular shampoo and use conditioner maybe twice a week. But I try to keep my scalp clean. And idk why weird flex maybe I get compliments a lot about my hair and eyebrows when I go to the salon. And my hair is my fav part of my body.

    So one of the things i do for my curly hair is once a week i wet my hair and put on a hair mask either in the middle of the day, or before bed with a plait to wash it the next day. i just find it makes my hair smmmmm more hydrated and it just restores the moisture especially because i live in aus and it get superrrrr dry. Hope this helps 💓

    I love your hair so much! Been trying to find the best method and adopting some of your tips! I did invest in a microfibre towel to prevent frizz, and I go at least a week before washing. I use leave in conditioners to style the hair each day, and tames the hair a bit, and trying to embrace the curls rather than constant heat as it used to be so prone to split ends, now it is in a lot healthier condition. My issue is my hair doesn’t sit well and flops in front of my face and gets in the way, and then have to secure it back, and I wish I didn’t have to 💜💫

    Girl you definitely won the hair genetics lottery if your waves look like that without product! But I too am on the less is more train. One little thing I wanted to mention is that I agree with your thoughts on hair ties, but I do think protective hairstyles are helpful to avoid breakage too! Like braids, for instance.

    Sulfate shampoo is the only kind that thoroughly cleanses the hair. Doesn’t matter if it’s drugstore or high end. It’s important to wash the ends as well so then the hair has a clean base and the hair mask will work. Conditioners and hair masks with silicone protect the hair from damage/breakage. Using leave in conditioner and hair oil(if needed on ends) post shower is necessary. Never leave your hair without any product. Always heat protectant before blow drying and another heat protectant before hot tools like flat iron and curling iron. I use my dyson airwrap weekly & have long hair. Bleach & coloring can make hair more dry and prone to damage. Ofc virgin hair will be the most healthy if you take proper care. However, you can have highlighted or colored long hair. You will just need to use better high quality products and keep hair hydrated, use bond builders, etc. Just don’t over process your hair. If you’re getting highlights, be ok with grow out. Only get hair done 1 or 2 times a year. Only get the regrowth touched up not the entire head done again and again that’s what leads to over processed hair with breakage. Nothing is wrong with brushing your hair. If you don’t you’ll end up with matted hair with breakage. Just brush from ends up, gently. Brush before the shower and when you have conditioner in your hair. If you’re blow drying your hair then apply products and brush prior. It’s all about a healthy hair routine, quality products and being consistent. Remember that long hair takes time.

  • @Eric_G65
    @Eric_G65 5 месяцев назад +1

    I agree about Ashley's hair. I see her struggle with it a lot. She figures it out but I think you have a slight advantage with hair care because of your routines. Of course, the Alexander twins and mom too are stunningly gorgeous so you have a big advantage there.
    You're definitely right about water quality. My sister lives in LA and I live on Long Island and I feel cleaner when I shower here in New York than I do in LA.
    By the way, another reason you don't want to shower in burning hot water is, it will dry out irritate your skin and scalp.
    As a man with relatively short and thin hair, I have to use a brush. It's definitely a battle for us men as we get older because we are fighting male pattern baldness. Something you should consider is adding Biotin to your supplement routine if you have one. Biotin and Folic acid really help keep your hair and nails healthy as you age.

    My family has INSANE hair genetics on both sides. I was born with a full head of hair. All of my 6 siblings have insane hair too. My hair went behind my knees in high school, has grown stupidly fast ever since I was a wee little potato. I typically cut it above my shoulders every year and a half since it grows to my tailbone in that time. This year I didn’t, I’m testing to see how long it can actually get. 😂

But all 3 of them also didn't dye their hair so much like me 😂. I went through an emo stage when I was 12 to 15. I'm still alternative in my adult years. So I'm always pittling with my hair colors. Until a few months ago when I decided to go back my natural color. But good thing is I've always been able to keep real healthy hair. I just want it to be at its complete healthiest so I can have super long hair again. I have a problem with cutting it as well but I've decided I'm done with that. Just want my long hair back lol

    I always put my hair up because otherwise I land up eating it every time I have a meal. Coz it's in my face and that drives me nuts. I usually use scrunchies to put my hair up. But I do have an invisibobble hair tie like you showed. Also if you don't brush your hair eventually it will start to dread. So I always brush mine but I do it gently with a comb first and pick knots apart with my fingers. I only brush dry hair because wet hair is fragile and breaks more easily. I'm going to try coconut oil and rice water.
