Why would she be in the hollow on her own and take up on Nicole's offer and taking on the Demara surname unless something happened. Soldier 11's story points out that there are even internal affairs in the defense force dealing with betrayal and information being leaked. Another thing is that Anby likes burgers and Soldier 11 likes noodles for the same reason, being a balance of nutrients. However, Soldier 11 doesn’t like burgers (calls them junk food) and Anby thinks that the noodles from the noodle shop are bland (but not necessarily disliking them).
Anby says hamburgers cover all the nutrition compounds into one meal and S11 says spicy noodles help her get fired up for her duties. All practical reasoning applied over stereotypically unhealthy foods.
The general implication is that anby is neutral towards S11 whereas S11 is aggresive towards anby. There’s also the implication of anby being her mentor in the character teaser and that S11 decided to stray from anby’s style by being more reckless (which is why S11 has a more domineering combat style while anby’s is low to the ground). S11’s story quest also places emphasis on her disdain for traitors. My guess is that Anby got lost or injured on a mission which resulted in her losing her memories. The military decided to cover it up by declaring her defected and S11, who was a newer recruit at the time, was struck by the news that her mentor betrayed them.
One part of S11s trust event dialogue stood out, she told the mc that noodles were a good source of getting your energy back up but also mentions something like "well if you like junk food too, be my guest". Which is an indirect statement to Anby loving burgers.
When Anby gets hit then switch to 11. 11 will say "Zero, you have regressed" (it seems that this sentence is only available in Chinese voice line) Probably Anby is clone number 0 and 11 is number 11

In recent soldier 11 character demo, there's someone who's sound really lot and looks like anby, she more like soldier 11 mentor, in the comment many said it was anby, and if you look closely they actually have similar weapon and backpack And anby is the only one who had felt Rina's presence even for a moment, and helped Nekomata from Ellen's attack, even though Victoria Housekeeping was so amazing that the special forces didn't notice it, but still anby can sense their presence is really crazy surviving skill
I'd like to imagine that the whole Obol Squad are just like Power Rangers, like Soldier 11 being the yellow ranger and Anby the green one. Then you get the rest with just different colors but same white hair and sword
Anby was definitely a mentor to soldier 11 and they are probably blood related given the models, my best guess is that Anby was somehow treated poorly by the military since we know she was at a really low point when Nicole took her in and Anby abandoning her past and last name. This makes soldier 11 view her as a traitor and is probably related to why she hates traitors so much, and why she wants to distance herself from her family in Anby.

I notice that even while they quite obviously have the same fighting moves, Anby does it more direct, and efficient (which fits the thunder archetype). While 11 is more "flowy", with wider swings, which also fits the fiery archetype.

I think Anby escaped (maybe was originally named Soldier 02, or something), but Soldier 11 didn't want to leave her duty, but after Anby left she feels guilt for letting her go free, and/or has a newfound longing to be a normal person. Also Anby and 11 are 100% child soldiers.
I’d also like to add that in Anby’s character description in the relationship menu, it states that Anby might have former military connections. Additionally Anby stole her last name from Nicole. This alone might be proof that these two might be sisters.
i was playing soldier 11 story quest thing with anby and i was like why the hell when i switch between the two characters nothing feels different.. and the uppercut was happening too often and i was like "wait a minute, is it the same?!!" and i rushed to youtube to find a youtube video comparing them two lmaoo

Second is related to 11's personal archive story where she is looking for someone who deserted, perhaps Anby and 11 were both in an elite squad of the military at one point (hence the similar preferences for equipment and techniques, along with being calm in intense situations) but at some point before the main story begins Anby either deserted, believed to have sacrificed herself to cover the rest of the team's escape on a mission, or otherwise was left for dead after a failed operation in a hollow; after any of these she somehow got picked up/found alive by Nicole and Billy and now feels indebted to them for saving her so she stays with the Cunning Hares despite the misadventures and massive debts. The third option is more bland, simply it's a reuse of existing assets while the devs determine how interested players are; maybe at one point there were plans to allow you to change the element (physical, shock, fire, ice, ether) but it was scrapped early and the test unit was recycled into two separate characters as Anby and 11 with slight tweaks, or they couldn't decide which element to use for the character so they just made both.
Fun fact, if Soldier 11 comes to Anby's rescue with the command to tag in for an assist while shes getting hit, she has a very rare chance to say Anby's name very concerned. To my knowledge Anby doesnt have this for Soldier. Youd never know since its hard to use these two together with the team combo system (for context, youd either need an electric OBOLS member or a fire Cunning Hare, neither of which exist atm, so using them together isnt optimal or recommended)
Another similarity that's kinda meta: Anby is the agent used to introduce a lot of the game's mechanics, with the notable exception of the Video Archives, which is introduced using Soldier 11.
