    Oh the joys of reversing 😂. We just use hand signals for the reversing camera and the driver figures out left or right. Having audio on the caravan reversing camera is a fantastic thing.
    The new hitch looks a beast. Looks like it’s working out for you. Safe travels 👍

    Welcome to the club guys 😃 we decided a while ago that it is much easier for me to do the reversing and hubby to direct. It's not just the left and right issue. It's even got to the point that we do the same when hitching his work trailers. Too many arguments when I try to give the directions

  • @mickyarred279

    Don’t feel bad too bad about giving reversing directions, my lovely wife looks at her left hand looks at her right hand - then raises her left hand and says……go right!! 😮😮😅

    Hi Guys good move getting a suspension/airbag hitch. We have an oz glide hitch absolutely love it, wouldn't leave home without it. Takes all the jiggling out of the car for a much more comfortable ride. Safe travels.

    Interesting your comparison on the Shocker hitch with the other highly promoted item. We went with a Shocker hitch and find it works very well. Definitely a must have if you are towing with a American or LR Japanese truck.

  • @RustyCandyAdventures
    @RustyCandyAdventures 19 дней назад +2

    In front, learn army way. Arm up the amount you want the van car to turn. You can do little for a little move or left up for full lock.
    Push both arms away for reverse.

  • @VykingBoy
    @VykingBoy 18 дней назад +4

    Don’t use left/right or wheel turning commands as confusing to driver. Just indicate if back of van needs to go more towards “driver” or “passenger” side and driver works out wheel turns themselves to make that happen.

    • @jamesprendergast4174
      @jamesprendergast4174 17 дней назад +2

      What we do, too!
      Plus, “a bit” is not a measure of distance.
      Preferred” one meter to go, to the driver’s side by 20cm”. This gives the driver all the info.

  • @filthyoffroadadventures
    @filthyoffroadadventures 19 дней назад +1

    Hey Grant with that hitch is it just a ride compliance thing or is it designed to reduce the load through the towbar and therefore the chassis of the tow vehicle?
    Using “Driver” and “Passenger” works really well for people like Bianca and my wife who are terrible with left and right😂 It’s what we use when directing people through hard obstacles on wheeling trips.
    Hope you guys are well.
    Matt and Leisa.

    • @Livin_Like_Kings_
      @Livin_Like_Kings_  18 дней назад +1

      Well, I read a bunch of reviews and they said something a little different so I’m not sure how to answer that based off the information online. However, I believe it has a similar effect to the old torsion hitch as in it dampens the movement and “shock” of the vehicle through the van and visa versa!
      The airbag already has proven to be a far more effective method of dispersing the energy that builds at the hitch. With higher weight vehicles and vans, I’d never not have one at this point😁👍

    Bianca, I understand everything you are saying about your left and right. I don't have any issues reversing a caravan myself BUT if I have to direct someone else, then it's a completely lost cause. I know in my mind to go left or right, but I can't get that out to another person doing the reversing. Why???? Thank you so much for sharing and enjoy your travels. Stay safe, healthy and happy.

    Hi guys. Long time subscribers here. Can you tell us which air fryer you bought? (We seem to have missed the episode where you tell us.) Re: the reversing... For us (2yrs on the road), we don't talk left or right. We say 'passenger side' or 'drivers side'. That tells the driver which direction the rear of the van needs to go towards. Much less confusing. (BTW In another life I used to work with students with similar problems to you (dyslexia, dyscalculia and balance problems). Really feel for you.

  • @jebw
    @jebw 19 дней назад +2

    Try driver and passenger for directions. Let the driver steer the car.

    Stand at the back of the van on the drivers side. Push the criminal away. the criminal is the van. That pushes the van away. And you turn the steering wheel pushing the criminal out of the window. And do the opposite to turn it the other way. Get uhf hand helds.
