Since you all loved the $1 vs $100 grilled cheese video, I'm going to start posting longer videos on a semi-regular basis! I've got some really fun ideas, but please feel free to leave some suggestions!
How about a series of videos where you create the perfect grilled cheese variation to go with different soups? You could include the soup recipes as well and show off some of your culinary knowledge and talent.
Perfect would require the subject of inquiry to not have a dependency upon personal preferences that has a very large range. Grilled cheese has it's core variables - type of fat used to brown the bread, type of cheese, type of bread. But this is just the beginning as we can get into the dips and sauces you might have with it (ketchup - as in a heinze commercial type, or a small batch spicy ketchup, or a garlic ketchup that is home made, and onwards we go with options that go beyond ketchup). And here in we get to the additional flavors we can add in - such as a secondary type of cheese that has a benefit in flavor complexity (maybe an asiago, or a parmasian). We can add spices - or we could infuse butter with spices first, or we could even make the bread such that it was infused with herbs and spices. If there is a dish that just about anyone can take and experiment with: Grilled cheese is a good starter.
What I learned most from this is that I need to expand my spice/seasoning repertoire. Good job, sir. And you always make me hungry for sourdough bread.
Make sure you click the "Notify Me" button on this video! I'm going to be watching the premiere live with you all and hanging out in the chat. It's gonna be a party!
Having all those spices would be a dream come true haha! I love experimenting with odd combinations, my favourite was the time I made my mythical quadruple garlic sauce, with two special smoked garlics i had bought while I was on vacation, regular garlic and dry garlic. It's always fun to see your videos, since you always make combinations not many would dare to cook.
I was in a bicycle accident. This is me right now with mash potatoes since I can't eat solid foods. I have just been going through my seasoning cabinet and dumping half my cabinet into the pot of mash. I also add cheese to my mash. I am currently living off the stuff.
I thought this could've been differently informative if you had cut about five grilled cheeses into tiny little bites and had just one spice per bite so you could compare and find out which spices surprisingly work well with grilled cheese!
Just about anything will work on a grilled cheese, but it depends on your personal tastes and what kind of cheese, bread, and toasting agent (butter, mayo, etc) you use. A lot of people are disgusted by the idea of sweet & cheesy, but cheesecake is a thing. The right cheese can make just about anything work.
Honestly Cajun and garlic added to grilled cheese is amazing. Especially if you put cheese on the pan after adding the butter or oil, adding the spices to that, it's absolutely my favorite right now. Now to go make one cause I made myself hungry
Sumac is such a delicious spice! Grew up eating Persian food almost daily, it's the best with kebab and kotlet ♡ Thank you for the inspiration to try adding more spices to grilled cheese! [Although..not the whole cabinet!] Great video 😊
TYLER, make a video trying our favorite grilled cheese recipes! This is one of my faves when it gets cold. I make it with butternut squash soup (just roasted squash, a LOT of sauteed garlic and shallots, butter, veggie broth, a little nutmeg and cinnamon, salt, & cracked pepper, and maple syrup if you're interested) then immersion blend that baby up. THEN THE GRILLED CHEESE -Havarti, aged white cheddar, smoked gouda, cured bacon, mayo on both sides of the inside (duh), AND maple syrup on the inside, too. We are also lactards in my house, too, so I use country crock plant-based butter sticks, and these cheeses all have either no or very low lactose content.
Gf just got over of those mortar grinders and I love it. Ground peppercorns and they treated way better fresh! Look forward to buying seeds, herbs to try.
I absolutely love your content and this video is the type of shit i'm subscribed for. I also love how you shared some quick facts about a lot of the ingredients you used
You do this but put it in cheese. Shred it up cold, throw in the spices, mix it up, spread it on bread. Also use a good amount of cheese if you do this
I worked at a bulk food store for a while, and once we decided to try mixing every spice in the spice aisle and putting it on popcorn. It was... an experience
inspired by the 'suicide soda', i did a similar thing back in middle school. blended together a roughly equal amount of each spice in the cabinet and made the 'suicide omelette'. what i learned: 1) white pepper is an oppressively strong flavor 2) cinnamon shouldn't go in an omelette
Imagine giving this to someone and just being like yeah this is a totally normal grilled cheese nothing to see here, and then see their faces when they take a bite 😂
I think this is an excellent pallet test to see how many of the spices you can really taste in there. I once did something similar where i combined every liquid in my cabinet (vinegars, hot sauces, Worcestershire sauce, etc) to test my poker face, and it ended up being me seeing how many i could taste.
6:31 as a greek,i can confirm i have no idea what "ΓΕΥΣΕΙΣ ΒΑΡΒΑΚΕΙΟΥ" means, but it says its for feta cheese and salads so i assume its a type of and/or similar to oregano
I dont know if you've made a video on either topic I'm going to suggest, but oh well. A) The ULTIMATE Grilled Cheese: a Grilled Cheese with *every* kind of cheese (that you can get your hands on) B) Best Ingredients for a Grilled Cheese: make Grilled Cheese using different replacements for the cheese, bread, and bonding agent (you use mayo)
im ngl...you said we were getting bored but nah we werent dont worry. listening to a guy talk about a spices with some little andecdotes was surprisingly interesting. theres a lot more spices than i knew existed
Next, make a grilled cheese using a mixture of every cooking fat: canola, coconut, olive, sesame, avocado, lard, tallow, chicken, duck, macadamia, etc... :)
I watched the vid on adding every spice u have to ONE grilled cheese sandwich and it was very good I must’ve imagined that it would’ve tasted very different and weird lol but overall the vid was amazing will check out more! ❤❤ keep up the great work!
Showed up on my recommendations page and decided to watch this vid. Absolutely loved. Subbing, gonna watch all your other vids, and can’t wait for more
What a dope video! When you open a shop, have an all spice grilled cheese sandwich with 1/3 of the amount & all items ground up referring back to this video and you have an interesting menu item that's for sure!🧀
Love the content man! I love food and I love creativity so it’s the best of both worlds. Maybe one day you could do this again but with a bagel as the bread and have a everything bagel seasoning grilled cheese!
i did like adobo with ground up dried guajillo and brown sugar for a shortrib grilled cheese once It had cilantro, onions and jalapenos too it tasted like i dont know, mexican style american bbq grilled cheese but i was proud of myself for tasting what i made and deciding to add some sugar it really brought out the flavor of the adobo and the spice of the guajillo
Yeah so that was one of my pregnancy cravings. Grilled cheese with every safe herb and spice I owned (no matter the craving, pregnancy indigestion is next level).

Tyler - you gotta pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers
What I learned most from this is that I need to expand my spice/seasoning repertoire. Good job, sir. And you always make me hungry for sourdough bread.

hi
You should have done 5 separate grilled cheese sandwiches for each categorical spices you had
From the title I thought he was going to do one spice per sandwich and just make a shit load
😂 i guess the weghed options was how. Long do i want on the toilet 😂
Or make a lot of very small sandwiches.
I thought he was gonna do 1 grilled cheese EACH
@@jakeenns6845 that would be interesting, see what works

you should take this idea and make a custom cheese with all of these spices, then make a grill cheese with THAT because that would make it way better
Just so ya know, the greek spices at 6:31 translates to "barbacue flavours"
Hope my knowledge of greek helps!
I went from not cooking anything to making Grilled Cheese twice a week thanks to Chef Tyler.
I think we would all LOVE to see a tikka masalla or butter chicken grilled cheese!!!!

An indian curry grilled cheese sounds amazing. I would love to see your take on one.
I mean, I like spice as much as the next guy, but I’m not sure all the spices playing together on the same playground are going to get along 😊😅
i think its gonna be more of a grilled cheese per spice

"SEASONING! SEASONING! SEASONING" -Chef tyler re-enacting the best bobobo scene ever. lol 😏
My dad saw a stat that said the average kitchen has 40 spices. He said that I probably have 140. I love your vids!

@pluto_the_gigachad It was a bizarre layering of delicious flavors with contrasting aftertastes
