Great first episode of our Thailand visit. I went there once with a Russian airline that had to be defrosted in Moscow, good fun. I would always spend a couple of days in Bangkok before heading to Pattaya but that was in the 90's. Bangkok has changed. Looking forward to future content. Thanks Adam.
Arrive in Bangkok on 18th January and travelling throughout Thailand for 26 days myself, can't wait. Get yourself to Lumphinee stadium on Friday night for One FC live Muay Thai event. Lumphinee Park also is a good shout, to see the water monitor lizards.

You need to try dryclor or perspex for the sweat patches put it on at night stings abit but will keep you dry for about 2 weeks or so blocks the armpit pors right up, get the strong one medium is no good.
Why not simply get a direct flight with a decent airline or maybe with one stop-off, usually in the Gulf? The last long-haul flight I took from the UK to Bangkok was a breeze, with a brief stopover in Doha. Similarly, I live in the Philippines and the last UK-Philippines flight I took was 13 hours, no stop-offs and very comfortable.
Aww never been Adam and admire the fact you know your stuff about the place..its my kinda place..people and culture..just retired early and getting into van life for mental health reasons really. Went last December with a friend toke us 55 hours because of a storm, 2 failed attempts at landing got dropped off at linz airport no connecting flight for 16 hours then fly back to Germany and onto Copenhagen then bangkok

I've done the trip to Bangkok via Bejing never again every trip now is via UAE . The worst trip though was Vegas to Bangkok via LA and Taiwan you don't realize till you fly it how big the Pacific is .

Air china.. did that exact trip last week.. left the snow.. the trip back via air china .. 5 hour stay over.. £420 . I cant complain .. but next time i will go omsn air.. 8 hours less for £100 more.. just worth it mate

I’d a seven and half hour lay over at Beijing with Air China 2 days ago. Considered going into the city but all the red tape ( pardon the pun! ) and the fact I was shattered and had another 5 hours to Manila meant I just found a quiet part of the airport for a sleep!
I once got a cheap ticket to Bangkok via Dubai with Emirates : € 395. But ……… there was a 17 (!) hours transit …. I bought an access to the Lounge for € 50. It was valid for 12 hours maximum so I had to buy 2. When I arrived in Bangkok I was literally shattered. I will never take flights with Transit again. Ever. I know fly with Thai Airways direct from Paris for less than € 600. Perfect.
