Events in mobile games are usually purely there to entice you to keep playing, to keep your attention. Usually "earning" everything in the event is a "give me", the company just wants you to keep coming back. However, in Raid you have to be quite invested before you can think about participating in a fusion.
TOTALLY agree with the fusion problem of offering 100/100 fragments many people are going to start skipping these fusions and thus skipping these money-making summon rushes and champion chases, really counter intuitive move from plarium.
@@slyfondle1885 I'm sure @jun3078 realizes that as well as we all do but again it won't work and.. "many people are going to start skipping these fusions and thus skipping these money-making summon rushes and champion chases, really counter intuitive move from plarium."
I am skipping most fusions these days. It feels the cost in resources (free and paid), time and nerves has become so high that it is no more a good way to get new champions.
The main problem I have with this whole issue.... is the scope which Mobile games in general' are given to use predatory marketing that preys on the problem gamblers in its player base. Plarium is responsible for instituting these methods, content creators are responsible for helping to create hype around the players that have insane accounts or have 1000 Sacred shards to pull in a video, and the players are responsible every time they share these videos and stories on social media to other players that put these spenders up on pedestals. The entire community is responsible for this.... and this needs to change. We regulate a ton of other industries. Cigarettes, alcohol, prescription drugs, etc etc... because these industries have been proven to lead to addiction problems. Mobile Gaming has now become one of those industries. The things they do in their games, is gambling. Any time you pay money to have a chance at pulling a 'random something', it is gambling. The difference with this industry, is that the laws that govern this type of things have not kept pace with the online world. The companies that make this type of product are taking advantage of that. That needs to change. Asmongold put out a video a couple of weeks back that discussed methods of removing this gambling aesthetic without destroying the games themselves. He had quite a few solid suggestions, but this type of movement requires people to actually care about making a change, and put effort into making that change happen. IT's not about 'evil companies' and 'corrupt content creators'.... it's about a community as a whole that is normalizing and excusing these systems that are helping to create new generations of gamers who believe that this type of corporate behavior is acceptable and standard. It's not. I have watched the gaming community devolve over the last 30 years, and this pay to win gambling system is now the beating heart of the problem. It's going to take tons of changes to make a difference, starting with teaching kids media literacy in school, to be able to identify what predatory marketing is, and make better choices regarding it. Passing laws that more stringently restrict the use of these tactics in the online world. Things are the worst I have ever seen them, and things need to change 'now'. It's up to us to voice this opposition. No one else is going to do it.
No no no ... if you miss a single event you haven't failed. Plarium will HAPPILY sell you the missing fragments. So get used to having to do everything in fragment summons from now on. There is nothing in Raid that can't be solved with enough money.
Monitization. How to convert other assets into cash. The truth behind the motivation. An enterprise motivated by profit (most enterprises) dont care about customers feelings unless those feelings affect spending. Plarium has cashed in on marketing to attract new players (me 4 yrs ago) and engaging those new players and estsblishing FOMO top to bottom in community including the CC. As an example, the real FOMO for fusions is that fusion champs are widely used by CCs and pkayer base as ftp friendly in comps. Anyhow, imo its important to recognize FOMO is an asset to pkarium. The time spent engaged in game building resources creates a feeling of fear of loss. Very hard to leave something you invested that much in. This is another assett created by plarium the are converting to cash. Forge pass. Some of the best gear ala the tier lists is only available if you crack the wallet. Zena. Exclusive as ninja and only available if you... Many of the new events only achievable.... I dont hate on plarium. How to convince them to change the game so it is more "fun"? Take away those assets. Play less. Pay less. Boycott pure paid passes and events. Boycott fusion champs. Spread the sentiment.
Being self employed, I started to notice several months ago that my productivity was going down. Didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the issue. Was me trying to do as much as possible in game every day. It 100% had become a second job. At that point was when I took a step back to evaluate things. Went with the simple fix, don't let this game dictate what I do in it and just play when I have time for the entertainment. At the end of the day, that's really it's only purpose. My business has picked back up and I'm more motivated with my work than ever before. Remember folks it's just a game. If you let a game dictate what happens in your real life, then things are getting out of hand. Just my view on things. Great vid Nubb!! ✌️❤️
This is so relatable. My productivity has also suffered in my business and that obviously had some very noticeable effects on all areas of my life. On top of that, this video game made me realize that I have a gambling problem and a pretty significant one at that. Instead of spending time at the casino or placing bets, I've been pulling shards. Raid can really flip a person's life upside down if they don't have the discipline, and Plarium is the predator that will nurture those unhealthy habits.
@@timweisner5441 glad you realized it! Now you have the opportunity to work on changing things. I'm 99% FTP. But a life long artist. Yeah I know, bad choice 😅. If I can't be 100% focused on what I'm making or not spending enough time in the studio, then things just go to shit fast. Best of luck! ✌️❤️
@@luap4981 Dont care that they're slowly pay walling the whole game? Maybe you'll care when you need a pass to hit clan boss or doom tower. A pass to even have access to doing the fusion. They've already got gear and champs locked behind passes and surely more is on the way.
@@jno4159 haha no I wouldn't care at all I would just quit and be happy. I don't see the outage in battle/forge pass when the game has always been a scam since he start.
Ive played for 5 years. I do every fusion event . The last 3 i have not done because they went from hard to very hard and now to impossible. I have 1.5 feet out the door.
I've played raid for 4,5 years. Yeah fusion just getting worse. Usually i'm always do fragment fusion but this times i don't care anymore. The champion not good enough but the requirement is so high.
Honestly, this is way more upsetting to me than any of the stuff around Hydra clash. The fusion creep has been intense for the last year, and it’s to the point where unless a fusion is Gnut level I don’t want to spend the resources. Paid for or acquired through game.
Even though you need all the fragments, they are actually splitting some of them up even more than in the past (champ training and summon rush) taking up additional reward slots. Feels dirty.
One thing I don't understand from Plariums perspective is that, if a player doesn't have enough shards for the summoning event or misses out on even 1 event that he stops grinding in this fragment fusion. Therefore the player engagement goes down more likely than up.
I miss BGE his content was so helpful and was a shame how he left the game. Nubs feels his successor. I’m glad we having this chat led by JGiggs hopefully see’s this have an impact as they focusing on player retention
@@pglanville he moved to Australia so not sure he left fully but focused on move and some other games at the time. Obviously Raid still brings him the views but he never left for that long…
Agreed. Its no longer fun to do these, and the rewards don't add up. Its becoming like CvC....spend 100 to earn 30. Takes too much time, take real $, and takes too much effort.
@@tibaldhunger8386 I think the only way to consistently get fusions requires you to be able to beat UNM Demon Lord first. Definitely not friendly with beginners. And it didn't use to be like this before.
Many insist that we need new content for the game. We don't. We need QOL improvements, champions rebalances, and anything that would reduce the time required to play the game.
AGREED..! Plarium has pushed me and my wife to be FTP and casual over the past couple of months with their choices. We used to buy the Gem Packs and every Forge Pass...I know it's not a lot of money but they will no longer get our approx $40.00+ USD unless there are a lot of changes.
With no room to spare, Plarium is telling you that your life and your family should come second to grinding your fragments. Wanted to do something this weekend? Too bad! Gotta get them frags son!
Honestly, Nubs, I mostly watch you for the different perspective. The raid playerbase is mostly negative and cynical about everything, and with good reason, but I find it important to my mental health to escape that echo chamber by gathering more perspective.
Frankly speaking your way of seing Raid playerbase is negative and cinical. What i noticed about player base is that we are mostelly grown up males. Most of us grow up playing PC games and we switched to mobile cos we lack of time to keep doing so. We still need some sort of brain clener, entertainment. So we chose game which isn't that time consuming and can be played enywhere. Thing is that some of us actually like this type of RPG like game, but hate what Plarium does with it. Frankly speaking it's bizare and so unhelthly we can't really apprehand it. It's not cinical to say so. Neither it's negative. It's rather realistic way of seing what Raid have been doing and how Raid treats it's playerbase. Truth to be told this game is nothing but money making mashine. Noone seems to care about how this profit is made.
CCs always say that the RUclips community is powerless because we’re a small portion of the overall player base. But I think we are a majority of the high spend players. We’re where plariums income really comes from. We have a much greater Impact than we think. When we think we can’t change their mind they win.
I've quit the last two fusions during the first dungeon divers. Just couldn't convince myself I wanted the champ enough to keep grinding. Pretty sure I'm not going to make it through this one either.
Even if nothing happens, the conversation today has been great. Apart from HH calling JGigs stew. The perspective have helped me narrow in on my perspective. I think skipping fusions is one of the more powerful things we as a player base can do.
It's not what is said by Plairum, but what they do and how they make you feel. And what JGigs is saying (I feel) is they make the player base feel like they don't like them based on the actions they are doing. That is what I took from the video. I get what your saying as well. But I'm in the unhappy camp with RAID. how they make me feel is they don't care about how my experience in RAID is. I agree with what you both are saying
Lately they have also removed champ chase and only done summon rush where it's shards only can't even use your fusions, and stuff. It's utterly frustrating, this one is super bad though with requiring EVERY SINGLE event to be done to complete this unless you manage to win the 1 tournament then you could skip 10.
I 100% agree, I have skipped three fusions at least this year, being a late game player, I have just decided that fusions are not worth it unless they change my accounts, why waste so many shards to get a average champion during non-legendary or non 2x events for a champ I don't really need
Since champion training, dungeon divers and the other events needs incredibly lot of energy(not just from the game, but also from the players, so really time consuming) to reach points, its just not worth nowadays the rewards...
This game is PVP - Player vs Plarium and we keep forgetting this, their job is to make it as hard as possible without you quitting, so that you PAY when it gets too hard.
that CC comment is true. Though his reasoning is wrong. Even Saph says it, in his own words "I can say this because I'm not part of the plarium program". That entire monkey robot mother thing is a weird thing to waste money on. Just look back 30+ years and you'll see how the difference in children was compared to now xD
U are correct nubs ..but u have to agree it does seem like plarium has written raid off and has decided to milk it for all its worth......gradual monetization is done everywhere but not to this extent .
Yeah, been feeling this for the last 6 months or so, that they're just trying to squeeze as much money out of the game before they let it die......just too many bad decisions
I think you're totally right about it exploiting the gambling angle. Not only does the Progressive screen look more like a slot machine than ever before - Progressive immediately makes me think of progressive slots at a casino. *sigh*
I think that the reason Raid is the way it is, is because Aristocrat Leisure is a gambling company. I think they approach Raid the same way they approach a slot machine. If you play the slots you see bright enticing things to get you to play. You sit down and start putting quarters in and pulling the handle. They know that if you lose to much you will quit so occasionally you will get a free token or some other kind of reward to keep you going. The goal is to increase the time you spend pulling that handle, or pressing the button. The longer you stay the more money they make. It's the same kind of thing when you go to a casino. Do I think they are evil and spending every moment trying to hurt their customers, no. I think they are approaching it from a completely different place than we are. I say enjoy the game or stop playing it.
Hey that’s me. I don’t think you got the point of the post. I never said plarium pays you outright (that’s ridiculous). They give you access to a test server & not to mention the rewards program, & at any second they take that away from you. If your saying that won’t effect your channel & or paycheck your just being delusional. There was a reason why Hades got so upset when he was suspended a while back if it’s not a big deal then why did he react that way???
CC's get some pretty decent in game content and test server access, but that's about it. However, I think we can say that if you lose test server access and get booted from the CC program it can really have a negative effect on your channel. It's only really happened with DM and he got hung out pretty hard. But, I think all of that is way different from suggesting that CC's don't have influence. I really didn't like the HH video when he kinda stated that, I think it's silly to suggest that Influencers don't influence :)
It might not be lazy developers, but awful decision making that monetization = bad game. HH has said it multiple times, but they would probably make more money by making a better game and creating better offers.
My biggest problem with this event, which nobody seems to talk about: They removed the additional tournament fragments except on one? It used to be hard to win a tourney, but now it's literally 99% of the playerbase not having a chance. What a shitty move.
Im not doing the fusion but what got me about summon rush and there only being 100 frags possible, them spreading the frags in summon rush into 3 milestones. The 1st 2 could be replace with gems or energy etc. and just give all the frags at the 3700 mark.
Im new, playing for 3 months, will fusion events come back in the new future? Bc im getting 50 champ fragments at the end of every fusion events, and i did see that plarium try to sell me 50 Timit’s fragment for 120 dollar. I was thinking: its insane, TOO expensive.
That is why you dont go for bellow gnut fusions. But for me the problem is the lack of new things to do. The game really relies on you getting new champs to have something new to do. That takes a long time in itself and only becomes harder and less fun.
But that comment is right and we can base that off of y’all never stepping up. We’ve been with you guys mostly the whole way and seen the actions you guys do and talk about. I’ve only seen 3 CCs stand up and put there money where their mouth is, so to speak.
For this entire fusion, I'm only getting to the fragment sections and then stopping, no longer pushing for the other bumph, just bait to use all my energy and time. Its time to change how we play this game and that is all down to Plarium. 7000 Misery shards to use too, not touching the others.
Loved your content back in my Raid days Nub! I haven’t played in over 6 months mainly for the very reasons you’re mentioning here (last day I played I pulled a sifi haha). I’ve been enjoying Watcher of Realms where coincidently their fragment event gives you 2 copies of the lord if you max out all events. Much much more chill. Wishing you the best sir.
The other issue I have with the build your own xX summoning is that if you want to participate for improving odds for pulling a legendary, you have to commit to improving the odds for the epics.
Great video Nubs you are correct. Not only are they making it disgusting in the dungeon divers and champ training is the rewards before you even get to the fragments. They are so low quality, everything needs to be adjusted.
Thank you for pointing out some of the bias in other videos. I see it all the time. One of the most hated things I hear is "you people......(insert complaint here)" when really folks are just trying to do their jobs. Speaking of, I agree the grind is becoming a second job. I don't love the game but I like it and I enjoy the community. I actually really like getting up at 4am to watch your live CvC streams. Thank you for your well thought out contemplative videos.
1:38 the comment was pretty accurate. Hades and saph already said a pay strike would do nothing bec we “aren’t a big enough portion”. I agree it’s a bad faith comment but the jist of it is there.
Yeah the irony is that in a disgruntled player base the popular thing to say is "company bad"....and basically you get peer pressured to have that take even if you dont believe it....for the views of course.
I've been playing Watcher of Realms for 61 days now... you're point about their fusions is EXACTLY right. There is an Epic Lord fusion right now; Lords are VERY important. You need 75 shards to get this fusion done, and the events are very reasonable.... if you are a couple of weeks in, you can probably complete the fusion with daily play. But the EXTRA fragments are there... so you can miss some stuff, OR you can go really hard, win a tournament in the process, and get TWO copies of the champion! Which means you can Awaken your new Lord. Also, if you get say 20 of the extra fragments, but not enough to get a second copy, the fragment fusion will BE BACK on a rotation, so you can get it next time! Maybe they'll change later, and get worse... but right now if I'm spending entertainment dollars, I'm spending them where I'm actually being engaged.
I don’t think your a shill at all. But if I was a content creator my fear would be that they would strike me like they did Mac if I get too critical. I feel it would be natural to have that in the back of your mind.
Thanks for Nub speaking truthfully about how the game is changing. I'm a three year player and its beginning to wear me down. The constant increases to requirements on events make the game no longer fun, but a chore. Time to evaluate and adjust the play time, likely down...
Last year I only skipped 3 fusions. However in 2023 I have only gone after 3 fusions. I used to never skip fragment fusions but with the new requirements I have been skipping fragments fusions too. Best thing about the new totals is that I am playing less and less. Skipping fusions and saving up for good champs has been so easy to do.
Great video! Plarium/raid push up the points you need everywhere and are not giving back and lately it is just getting worse. They don't even give good reward back now when you spend on something cool, like the champion pass had to be. For the reasons you explain in the video i have not done any of the last 3 fusion, also because you get a ok champion for it instead of a good/realy good one
Plarium has gone in a circle with regards to fusions. Previously we never had super raids and people complained fusions took long to complete and it felt like a job. Then they added super raids, much to everyone's delight, but now they just doubled the points requirements to bring us right back to square one, and worse because of the energy cost
I'm at a point where I see all Fusion events as simply inaccessible to me. Instead I'm saving more resources and focusing on building my existing Champs. This has also had the side effect of me not spending any money on this game.I still have a lot of fun playing the game but I'm learning to tune out more and more events.
The one thing I hate about fragments is the fact that it says I’ll never be able to get these shards again yet it keeps all of them in my fusion portal. Not only is it disgusting to look at they only keep it so they have the potential to sell me the fragments 2 years from now
I do have to correct you. As for the Lego books in Champ training events. Even 2+ years ago Champ training events had known to be at 13750 points for the last milestone (lego book). I will say however, plarium changed those for every next champ traing event. I belibve it varried between 11k+ -14750. champ training tournaments have usually been the ones with the better deals, e.g. 8k-12k.
Agree with so much of what you say. For the last 2 months I announced to my guild that I wasn’t planning on being a player anymore. I had already stopped spending and looked for another game to play. I tried Dragonheir but didn’t last a day. Now 70 days into Watcher of Realms which is fun. Only bought the £5 half price Privilege Pass and have since bought 6 months of it at discounted rate. Raid I do the fun bits only. Live Arena and Iron Twins, in a clan where doing Clan v Clan is important. So 160k or 200k is a grind. Also do Hydra clash too. Now I have announced no more fusions for me. I am collecting shards, but not pulling any beyond the 3 mystery/day. My big question is why are Plarium trying to drive me away. I was a low spender back in the day. Had Rotos, Venus & Valkyrie in the first year. But no Coldheart for 2 years, no Madame for 3. I felt it was fixed. Suddenly got a Coldheart then had 4 in a month. Same with Madame a year on, then had 3 of them. It made me suspicious not trusting the game. And their money focus sure didn’t help. Thanks for your vid
Nubs, love your video. I just want to comment on your point about alot of other factors contributing to plariums approach to the battle pass and not the type of people thay are. Plarium as an organisation are motivated by greed. And the battle pass, approach to fusions et al are symptomatic of that. That is their predominant motivation behind all they do and that is not a characteristic of an organisation i would want to associate with. Implying other social factors are at work here is disengenious at best, particularly as its painfully clear they are motivated by making as much money as possible and the community that supports their game are a mere afterthought.
A lot of thoughts go through my head when listening to videos like this - a lot of good points and analysis. Always appreciate your point of views Nub. At the end of the day though RAID is run by pure greed, how many examples do players need to understand this and NOT be surprised or disappointed? This game survives and thrives on psychological manipulation and gambling addictions. I doubt anyone who has finally pulled themselves free from RAID ever regrets it upon reflection.
Great video, Nub. I couldn't agree more with your points! The "work creep" cuased by the inflation of point requirements to get fusions has become a major drag. I would add, Plarium neither likes or hates its players. It's a business. No body wants to acknowledge this, but the business isn't making a game, but making money for its share holders. Which, by the way, is what all businesses do 🤔
yes i have been saying this wow comparison many times. its killing your playerbase, i am 100% sure if you lose the player base on fusions you will kill the game. they are the only reason people invest time, buy 10$ gempack etc etc. even if you lose a cvc or clash you still go back to a fusion.
great summary of same thoughts I have. I am a small German streamer (we once meat in Live Area, it was a great pleasure to lose ;) who found a niche in Raid, which has a great community with lots of discussions about the different contents and aspects of the game. It is so frustrating to see the time and efford needed to get the rewards is rising and rising, just a quick example: Halloween Fireknight Turn Attack with all 4 factions took me 11 hours straight dungeon runs. no hydra, no daily stuff, no doom tower. 11 hours in 3 days, or 4 hours per day. Thats not acceptable, an I will not trade time for money. I trade my time for fun and pleasure. If I have to pay for pleasure, I would rather go to a brothel. Imagine the sheer number of girls I can buy for one void chain ;-) Other publishers have nice games too, and if Plarium thinks it is a good idea to get too greedy, well, then its fare well. The time I advertice Raid in my stream is long gone, their greedyness is so disgusting.
I don't particularly want any of those champs and they're diluting the pool for the ones I do want on a weekend when I have to pull for the fusion. It's another huge negative on shard pulling.
I just feel like the return for the players is gone. It seems like every fix or incentive they put out there turns out to be worse. The events are getting unreasonable and the reward for your time just isnt there anymore. I hope it turns around.
Again, brilliant analysis. Where Plarium fails most (and worst) is what I imagine is a poor instructive connect with higher level owners/business directors. The industry needs MORE hardcore, longterm gamers who happen to be lawyers. I'm available ;)
The first part of this video made me laugh... Sorry😅 About the moment: "videos are made for more views"... May be nobody has written that cause it goes without saying)) Also speaking about more and more time on fusions - absolutely agree. A bit annoys cause it feels more and more like torture, instead of enjoying the game. But still Everyone decides for themselves... For example, I took everything easy what concerns games long time ago and mostly do stuff that makes enjoy it. Just to makes it easier, like this last fusion... For my account don't need Champion with such skills + fusion takes too much time and resources - just not worth all of it + don't even like the model of Ugir for my collection. So why would I do this fusion? Better to save resources for the better one, like Gnut or Emic. Want to say... don't push yourself especially if it's not worth it... It's just a game😉 Have wonderful weekend, boys and girls🌺
The blame the CC may have is that they repeat the concept "you should do unique fusions", "if you can, do the fusion for future content", "do the fusion for faction guardians" etc creating strong fomo. Although you also say "it's ok to skip", the "must do the fusion" is by far predominant.
Honestly, i have heard you, Ash, HellHades, Chosen, etc vent about Plarium's game and business practices on multiple occasions. I find it refreshing and (oddly) comforting. As for the perks Plarium gives you for being part of their content creator program...i'm quite certain it doesn't pay the bills. I wish people would educate themselves and/or stop to think before they speak (type).
When Nub Raids makes a 30 min video dedicated to negative raid content you know someone in Plarium have f''''' up. My argument is that the person calling those shots really have very little or no monthly gaming time.
Yeah, What I miss the most is having enough shards from a champ chase to skip as many dungeon divers as I can. even better if you can skip dungeon divers and a late artifact enhancement. Tomorrow I'll have to squeeze the silver out of artifacts and/or the forge vs skip it
1. What Gigs is proposing is a consumer strike. That means either monetary or time spent in the game 2. Community managers believe that we have enough resources in the game because their analytics show that we are hoarding shards/ energy - this has been confirmed in multiple content/community manager vids with skratch and Ash. 3. Players are hoarding for example for cvc because scarcity is literally the name of the game. An example would be the flat out refusal to increase the energy cap in the game. So, fundamentally raid believe we have enough in the game. I believe this can breed contempt for consumers 4. We aren’t players, we are consumers, we buy into the product the moment we log into the game. They aren’t cartoon villains. 5. If criticisms are made based on what you have produced content wise, then example would be siding with plarium on the macchan/ account selling stuff. HH pulled his vid on it because Plarium told him to and he folded 6. Test sever access means more views means more content. Pretty obvious 7. Prism shard outrage showed them that the price points were too high and they reduced them. So a consumer strike does work 8. So with that being said, I do not believe ccs will back a consumer strike. Yes they will make small vids criticising raid, but that’s is to weather.
I want to start by saying that I 100% agree with the new shard summoning event trying to not only milk the current addicts, but to create new ones too. I liked your point on burnout, but "the treat them mean" part is far more nuanced than that, however, I'm glad to hear you don't adhere to the concept yourself. Below is a cautionary observation, and not an attack. It is what comes across from the initial part of the video. You avoided all the very many good points that @JGigs made in his video, to outline what "seems" to be your latest reading interest, as you've mentioned it a number of times in recent videos (conformation bias), because of what may be just your personal perception that he has of Plarium v other companies "ethos" and not individuals within the companies feelings of players, by portraying your perception of what @JGigs means in his video as potentially something else, and then reading it out to us (viewers) "IS" conformation bias, by using selected comments to back up your layman's understanding of it. You understand the structure without really understanding the nuance of individualism, emotion, personality, speech & cultural inflections, and personal experiences, thus are able to dismiss others' different views yourself, as conformation bias without a second thought because you can pick and choose the comments you need to... well... to confirm it. Yet it is right there in front of you in black and white, and you haven't even analysed your own behaviour... Interesting... If you did not speak with @JGigs, and I emphasise "if" to get what you believe to be "conformation bias" based on those 2 sentences, and not the overall emphasis of his video, then your are guilty of presumption, over facts. It may turn out to be the case that you are correct 50/50 chance, and if right will confirm your ideas (conformation bias) and go on to make further presumptions based on an initial correct presumption, and no actual facts will be needed, just your own thoughts is enough. Failures can then be dismissed as blips. However, to presume one is right, is the province of the uneducated, or just plain intellectually narcissistic, especially as you are recording it for the world to see without conformation of the facts, which is then just opinion. There's that word again. There were many comments that did not include those misconceptions, but your focus on those confirms "YOUR" bias to contrary ideas of your own. By sweeping all opposing ideas into the focus of one type of ill-informed beliefs as to where you get your monetary gains, is due to your own feelings, re: said comments that plays on your mind, but to conflate this with what @JGigs said and the comments therein, is you, "needing" to justify yourself (own thoughts/feelings), and your beliefs to yourself, more than it is for anyone else by dismissing everything, including anything relevant that sits to oppose your belief system, away and thus reject an internal negative (personal need to rationally confirm self belief system). Thus confirming your bias doubly, and then packaging all opposing/negative comments into your piece of digital paper titled "Fundamental Attribution Error In Psychology" sub/connected to "Conformation Bias" is simply a little annoying to me, as someone that has studied psychology for decades from someone that at best, is very obviously intelligent but is lacking the depth of understanding of any complex subject that takes decades of experience outside the academic reading of said subject. So, I know exactly how you feel about your own position of frustration about those with a little knowledge... as well as those who have none.
Iv been playing for a year and never been able to do a fusion as I work full time it sucks the amount of time u have to sink into a game and I refuse to spend for this reason
There have always been gamemasters who are very tough on their players and gamemasters who are more lenient. I think there was some game theory that the super easy games, players leave because they are too easy. The super hard games have the same problem: The majority of players eventually quit in frustration or spend less time in the game due to frustration. So each game company is trying to be somewhere in the middle - hard enough to challenge the player base, but not so hard that they quit in frustration, and not to easy that it gets boring.
I like to think most of us understand your opinions are genuine. That’s why we watch you. Some people just make lame comments and most of us quietly watch and stay informed.
I agree with you totally. I personally feel that palarium is too focused on analitics and monitization. They have lost touch with the fact that they provide a service in the entertainment field. In short if the game is fun it provides an entertainment service. More and more the game is losing it's entertainment value for me and it feels more and more like a job. They keep making these so called quality of life improvements. My question is where do they get the info? I have never been asked my opinion on anything. Almost everything they have added to the game has decreased my level of enjoyment. They need to get input from everyone and actually provide more entertainment value to the community. Do they ever do surveys? In my 3 plus years I don't remember doing one. On a side note. Thanks for providing your perspective on the game it is much appreciated
Developers i would wager generally want their players to have fun in the games they develop. The problem is that they must make as much money as they can, or rather the investors EXPECT a return on investments. This is also as you talk about comparison with Watcher of Realms and that you need only 75 and you can collect like 120 or even 155 or something if you win some tournaments for placements. What i wonder is How will these fragment summons look at WoR in 5 years when they are in the cycle of the game that Raid is now? Because there was skippable stuff in previous fragment fusions.
They did the fusion this way on purpose to make more money on it. They know some people skip summoning events and buy the 20 frags with money at the end because is cheaper than buying the shards to complete that event so they push forward to this
I have quit playing twice.. this last time back was just before rabbit fusion, which I skipped. Since then, I've only done gnut cus he is actually game changing. I would have done emic, but the requirements were too high to justify participating in that one. I am now in a skip all fusions cus i can't get books or decent gear for them anyway mode.
I agree with a lot here, I can only say plarium is slowly killing my friend's list. I've lost an entire clan cluster, countless friends and its not getting better any time soon. They don't hate players, but they absolutely don't care about us one single bit. Everything is maximum profit, maximum frustration for players to try and force buys - even event requires maximum resource spend for MINIMUM borderline worthless rewards. Everything feels bad to do, everything feels like a losing proposition - you NEVER come out on top or even a win/win "vs" plarium. They house always wins and they treat us like an abusive spouse or parent and the more we accept their abuse the further they push the limit next time to squeeze us at the cost of churn which they likely expect and don't care about.
Love you Nubs! Do you! Been following you for years. Trust your gut feeling! You are right! You are intelligent, have integrity and always have a good balance in your content! Go, go. Go!
I agree on your points, but fusion. It really depends how you approach fusion in general. I been doing fusions forever and basically as FTP. Got once 3 voids for vlad fusion and energy for my first hurnding fusion. If I discard fact, that dungeon divers is more pricy, fusion seems almost same. I always skipped 15poinds on summon rush and did all points on champion chase. I still needed 3-4 sacreds for summon rush 5 points one and something for champ chase (I used to use old fragments next so shards). I basically never won tournament, so this fusion is actually 3-4 sacreds more expensive that regular fusion. Also if I would take fact, that there is no summon rush it;s actually not that big difference. It;s even possibly cheaper if you champ chase happens on 2x sacreds time instead of ancients. So yes if you do fusion with maximizing shard evens, which is either buy or skip some fusion, then this one is hard. But if all your fusions based on efficiency and shard saving, it's no difference. (Except fact, that dungeon divers are pricier and possibly artifact enhancement?) Not defending plarium :D I stopped spending even my minimal spending
I really do not care so much about the 100 fragments, although I get your point. On the other hand, the points to get them is the main problem here, especially dungeon divers is brutal, only way to make it is to buy the energy. It is no longer a fusion event, it is a fusion "pay" event
Saying the Progressive Chance event preys on peoples gambling issues seems strange to suddenly say. The entirety of this game preys on those addictions and it obviously always has. This is precisely why so many people are so antagonistic towards Plarium and Raid.
This for real. Also many people don't save resources accordingly and manage them smart because of these impulsive addictions, which will lead them to having to pay to get fusions done. Even though the creep is real on fusions, I can still easily get them done spending 0 dollar.
I think you missed the mark on the "plarium doesn't like their players but other gacha makers do" thing...other gacha makers don't "like" their players more than Plarium does, the difference is that Plarium comes from a parent company that is firmly entrenched in gambling (Aristocrat) and as such, their market experience lets them know what they can get away with in terms of giving bare minimum in rewards and still getting money out of their players through gambling addiction. a lot of the asian gachas are more generous because gambling is illegal in their countries, so they still have a social stigma to be seen as offering good value...Plarium via Aristocrat have no such illusions about that.
Another comment: I've pretty much stopped doing fusions for the exact reason you give. The other thing is I've become convinced (probably statistical bias) that they increase the odds of getting recent champs when summoning. When Staltus was a champ fusion I didn't do it. First lego I pulled I got Staltus, 3rd was also Staltus. I did the Kaja summon during which I pulled Timit WHILE THE FUSION WAS ON. This has happened other times as well for fusions I didn't do. If true it's completely broken.
I played a MMORPG called Vanguard, I loved it, until they made a massive grind wall. It made me quit. I also played EQ and EQ2, and massive nerfs made me quit them as well. This schedule REALLY ticks me off. We should be able to skip some events. The scaling of the costs for events pushes it over the line for me. Also the nerf coming to Madman, ticks me off.
People blaming content creators for being shills, could always vote with their feet and watch other content creators. Palarium does not decide CC wages, we the viewers do. If Xena is a con, dont watch videos on her, dont buy her. If this fusion sucks, don't participate, and like and share the CCs calling it out. Then maybe checkout the CCs other content i.e. other games, allowing them to diversify their revenue and speak up more freely. Your doing fine Nubs, keep it up! :)
They're trying to sell more fragments to players who cannot complete the fusion.
Plarium definitely made them that way
Having to do EVERY event or tournament is just too draining, not being able to skip any is just bad.
As is Life
That’s very nice of them.
Remember who Raid's new ceo is from.... Las Vegas..
For $2 per fragment missing no less.
Breaking up the fragments like that also allows them to remove other rewards along the way
Exactly since you need all 15 from champion training the first two 5 fragments do nothing but eat the rewards that used to be there.
Fantastic comment and couldn't agree with you more.
Thank you. You are taking up the bit that I was far more upset about, the Fusion creep, rather than than then Xena.
Same. I'm didn't pay for xena but i don't care about what they did. the overall game is just whale bait
@@luap4981 Dont care that they're slowly pay walling the whole game? Maybe you'll care when you need a pass to hit clan boss or doom tower. A pass to even have access to doing the fusion. They've already got gear and champs locked behind passes and surely more is on the way.
@@jno4159 I won't care because I'll be long gone. I've got one foot out the door already. lol
I skipped this one it’s my first one . This is the first one , I said to my self WTF are you doing raid
He was a great CC.
Yeah BGE was good people
BGE was great and got royally shafted
Jgigs left Raid. Why is he back?
@@pglanville he moved to Australia so not sure he left fully but focused on move and some other games at the time. Obviously Raid still brings him the views but he never left for that long…
Look up the requirements for Mother Cybelle. Fusions used to be easy, fun and flexible. And you could get an epic, in addition to the legendary champ.
Agreed. Its no longer fun to do these, and the rewards don't add up. Its becoming like CvC....spend 100 to earn 30. Takes too much time, take real $, and takes too much effort.
Agreed, look at the history and you can see the constant increases in all areas.
For new players it gets more and more difficuld to even participate.
11:05 I left Raid after 2 Years .and that exactly for this moment . when you said it's like second job
Naw raid players are just gambling addicts. I choose to just accept my addiction and not get emotional about things i cant control.
I don't think so.Not saying there are no gambling addics here, but not all of us are.
@@sunnydlite-t8b
I think skipping fusions is one of the more powerful things we as a player base can do.
it was a joke
Calm down, Andrew…. HH was joking. I know being a Jgigs fan boy is fun and I’m sure he’ll shout you out for protecting him, but try and take a joke
Yes!!! I missed two fusions recently due to DungDiver
Love this. "It's literal shit".
Shout out to Philosophy nerds!! Adam Smith's Theory of Moral Sentiments comes to mind :) Appreciate your nuanced takes Nub 👍
Since champion training, dungeon divers and the other events needs incredibly lot of energy(not just from the game, but also from the players, so really time consuming) to reach points, its just not worth nowadays the rewards...
7:50 is the funniest part of the video. (Good video by the way!)
This game is PVP - Player vs Plarium and we keep forgetting this, their job is to make it as hard as possible without you quitting, so that you PAY when it gets too hard.
FOMO is Plarium's greatest tool!
that CC comment is true.
Favorite comment in video: "F that, not interested. Just gonna be nice"
Not only is it disgusting to look at they only keep it so they have the potential to sell me the fragments 2 years from now
Nub the monkey reference is Harlows monkey experiment.
This is a great summation on the state of the game, the increasing level of predatory marketing has had the opposite effect on my spending
Imagine the sheer number of girls I can buy for one void chain ;-)
Other publishers have nice games too, and if Plarium thinks it is a good idea to get too greedy, well, then its fare well.
Sorry😅
About the moment: "videos are made for more views"... May be nobody has written that cause it goes without saying))
Also speaking about more and more time on fusions - absolutely agree.
That means either monetary or time spent in the game
I believe this can breed contempt for consumers
4. We aren’t players, we are consumers, we buy into the product the moment we log into the game. They aren’t cartoon villains.
5. If criticisms are made based on what you have produced content wise, then example would be siding with plarium on the macchan/ account selling stuff. HH pulled his vid on it because Plarium told him to and he folded
6. Test sever access means more views means more content. Pretty obvious
7. Prism shard outrage showed them that the price points were too high and they reduced them. So a consumer strike does work
8. So with that being said, I do not believe ccs will back a consumer strike. Yes they will make small vids criticising raid, but that’s is to weather.
Awesome video Nub, thanks for your use of facts to demonstrate the way Plarium has changed the game. Excellent summary.
I did every fusion for 3 years except for 1, but I haven't done one since Gnut. The champs aren't worth the effort or drain on resources recently.
Because there was skippable stuff in previous fragment fusions.
between 7.35 and 7.55 is absolute gold!
I don't do fusions because I know I'll just pull every one. The rate I pull fusion champs to non-fusion champs is astounding.
(Except fact, that dungeon divers are pricier and possibly artifact enhancement?)
Not defending plarium :D I stopped spending even my minimal spending
Did you notice they nerfed common and uncommon fusions for training? They were 10 and 20 pints, no? And they are now 5 and 15.
Lol @ the best way to play the game is to "not engage". Way to go, Plarium. That's good game design. Make your game LESS approachable.
Honestly the money for me isn't an issue. It's the time in game to do the event I struggle most with.
