Helene was the best. She was the only character who kept me reading the 3 books. The intrigue and plot, and battle strategies reminded me of Game of Thrones books by GRRM. (which I am really missing atm) I have never read a book with a female character who had skill in battle, was a badass like her, but also made mistakes, and could love as deeply as she did for her people, her country, and her friends. She was cruel at times, but her complexity was x1000000 times more interesting to read than the pretty straight-forward character arc of Laia.

I imagine Helene as a very beautiful woman with amazing fighting skills, but I DON'T LIKE HER! 😂
EDIT EDIT EDIT 06/2020: I've just read Reaper at the Gates, and wow, Helene's character is just awesome! She's strong and determined, and her kindness is showing. I enjoyed reading her parts especially her blooming romance with Harper 😍

Just started the first book, enjoying it so far. But to be honest the biggest reason why I started to read it is because I share name with Helene😂 And seeing my name in books is quite unusual, so I kinda freaked out....

Okay she was soo describing the story from the readers' POV and she was right . That's how we saw the story.
Which means her real goal 'was' to torture us with the cruelty of the book.
