@@JohnsWoodenShips Oh yeah!! This is a very beautiful model.
I'm always blown away just how beautiful these kits look. And so well packaged too.
It is logical, they are expensive :)
@@JohnsWoodenShips one day I'll get a small one to start with. But I noticed they don't seem to sell from their website anymore so I'm not even sure how to get them all the way here in New Zealand.
Welcome back....so glad you are here again!
Thank you very much Michael, it feel good to be back!!!
Nice, i also just started the montantes, time to build along :)
It would be nice! :)
Hi John, I've just finished my first wooden ship model, the Occre Beagle, which was a pleasure to make and would like to build the Montanes in the near future. Thank you for your beautifully detailed videos of it's construction which I will use as a guide.

Thank you very much my friend!!!
Appreciate your videos. Definetly my next one, currently greatly enjoying Occre Diana as my second build after the old Constructo San Mateo horrible first kit, beautiful model. Took me 3 years hehe.
Montanes looks amazing and I think my frigate needs some back up.
Thank you very much!!! You will love the Montanes, i can insure you. She is a hard one but worth every minute of the building :)
Hi, Occre has the best after-sales service in the universe. Your Facebook social media manager is masterful. regards
Thank you very much!!!
Thank you very much :)
And the collection is enriched .... I think cannonades are heard ... And they are not from Montage but from Montanes !
The collection will be perfect now and with a lot of cannons!
Thanks!
You're welcome!
And the story begins.
And what a story! I can see the ending already, beautiful, marvelous, work of art!
Nice John, mine should arrive in the next few days, will have my hands full with this and the victory, but such a great looking ship i could not resist, now i need a 2nd house to keep them in ;] look forward to the build videos, will you be building the Montanes or beagle first? cheers
Thank you very much my friend!!! I will start the building with Montanes, the Beagle will have to wait for a few months.
hi John, before I purchased this model, what is your opinion on the Quality of OcCre kits and ease of instructions to follow.this will be my first ship I've ever built but I'm a very experienced modeller and I know I could build this and I will be following step-by-step your videos which are excellent by the way.
Hi Dave! OcCre has very good schematics and drawings, easy to understand and with very few minor mistakes that won't affect you much. But if you have never made a wooden model again i should not recommend to make Montanes for your 1st one. Some things are seem easy when i am doing them but i make wooden model ships for almost 20 years now.I should recommend to start with an easier and less expensive one for your first model. If you insist to make Montanes then make sure that you have all the tools that you need and arm your self with lots of patients :)
@@JohnsWoodenShips thank you John for your advice, I appreciate your time. I'm experienced in modelling because I've been making radio controlled model aircraft for the last 28 years so I have a lot of modelling experience with wood and I am very fortunate to have a modelling workshop with all the tools you can imagine I'm sorry to say is being a bit of an obsession for the past 28 :-) I think I've got what it takes to build Montanes. I have high attention to detail, lots of patience and I'll be studying your videos very closely and besides that I'm already falling in love with the idea of building this ship it looks magnificent and would make a fabulous ornamental piece in my room
I appreciate your modelling skills.and your videos, thanks once again John.
@@daveharkin4731 You are very confident, that's very good!!! So you have what you need, you are confident and you love the wooden models, you should have started making Montanes already :) I am pretty sure that you are going to make a beautiful model. If you'll need any help just ask :)
Wow, just found your channel. Great videos, great building!
One suggestion though: please buy a proper microphone, I have to turn up the volume to maximum to barely understand you talking!!!
Greetings from Germany
Frank S.
Thank you very much Frank!!! I use a smartphone and many times it's stationary on a tripod. So when i am a little far away you loose the volume of my speech.
Good luck
Thank you very much!
Hello John!
I just got into wood ship modelling, started off with a few basic Artesania Latina models and enjoy it a lot.
May I ask what kind of planking techniques you use or if you can recommend any books?
Hi! Welcome aboard! I am self taught so i do not know any books to recommend. What i can give you are 2 playlists with all the information you need, this is the 1st : ruclips.net/video/_YXH03Btauk/видео.html and this is the 2nd : ruclips.net/video/K_KVMiSyBxU/видео.html
HI John, this really is a beautiful model. I'm already planning my next build after I finish the Beagle. I have the Santisma Trinidad already , only thing that worries me at this stage with me having not as much experience as you is planking that near right angle around the bow. So, I'm thinking as far as planking goes I may find the Montanes a little easier. What do you think?
Hi Greg, she is a very beautiful model! It won't be a problem, just make sure that you have bend and made every strip to fit before gluing in position. Sometimes it takes me around 45 minutes just to place a single wood strip.
@@JohnsWoodenShips Thanks John , On the Beagle it took me nearly a month to plank the hull which I had never managed before I found your videos. Your models are works of art that I aspire to replicating one day .
@@gregwilson2541 Thank you very much for your kind words Greg :)

What skill level is this kit
It's advanced, it is not appropriate for a first model.
John Aliprantis i can handle it I assure you thanks
