Hmmm... I don't know... Most MIDI devices can support a maximum of 16 channels with 10 always reserved for drums. Right 1: Channel 1 Left: Channel 2 Right 2: Channel 3 Right 3: Channel 4 Multipad 1: Channel 5 Multipad 2: Channel 6 Multipad 3: Channel 7 Multipad 4: Channel 8 Style: Rhythm 1: Channel 9 Rhythm 2: Channel 10 Bass: Channel 11 Chord 1: Channel 12 Chord 2: Channel 13 Pad: Channel 14 Phrase 1: Channel 15 Phrase 2: Channel 16 That probably explains why there are only four multipads. If this supported 32 channels, then I think 8 or 16 might be a possibility. I don't know.
1. George Greener. 2. Did someone say "trance and dance music"?!?! 3. What does things like "Right 2: Channel 4" or "Left 3: Channel 1" mean???? I'm guessing "Right" and "Left" refer to the hands commonly used for playing certain parts (Left for lower bass notes and Right for higher melody parts), but I have no idea how MIDI channels work... ...Sorry if I'm asking you to many questions, but I want to know because I look up to you! Though you shouldn't be angry at me for not knowing this because yOU'RE oLDER tHAN mE AND I CAN'T JUST BE 15 LIKE YOU OR EVEN 13!!!! I HATE NOT LOVING YOU!!!!
Hi David and Chris, could you find out, if it is possible to store parts of a song (as wave or MP3 files) to use it later in connection with the multi-pads feature and in case it is so, could you explain it. Thanks in advance.
Thanks David for your suggestions. But I still have a question about this: Yamaha already brings multipads associated with styles. How can I change a multipad in a style without being via Registration Memory, doing like yamaha?

@@tyrostipsters I tried the multipad control but could'nt get anywhere near Hanks sound but have ordered & recieved a download, but don't know how to install it, but the chap at Allegro music is going to put it onto memory stick for me & help me install it(I tried multi pad control could'nt find any guitar sound like it)can you advise me which powerpack would be most suitable for outdoor use: 150 hour watt of electric rated 100w A/C modified sine wave inverter or 444 watt hour rated 450w A/C sine wave converter(this one more ££££s)
HI, In this video (3.34) you said that some MP's are single and some are playing continous. Where can I change that MP setting ? There are some MP's playing single and I want to change that in continous mode.
I've been racking my brain trying to record a guitar backing multi pad! No quantize, loop define, nor overdub features? How does Yamaha record their factory m.pads? It takes forever to try and get a decent loop, then when I get something useable the chord tracker is all over the place (e.g., C maj sounds normal, but F maj sounds like it's an octave higher, and A minor sounds too low! 7th and other colorful chords won't even register) . I'd tried to out smart the keyboard and just duplicate the notes from a factory multi pad, but all that registers in the edit menu are E2, F2, G2, A2, B2 backward and forward in succession ! How does that translate to chords?any help?
David, thanks for your many videos and comments very helpful, appreciate your efforts , I bought a Tyros5 keyboard in Indonesia , along with the matched trs5 mso5 speakers, the keyboard is dual voltage, 110 or 220 50/60 cycle, however I checked the MS05 speakers, and only shows designed for 220v power. I am in the USA now , 110 v / 60 hz, if speakers are only good for 220v 50 cycle, can i buy a power transformer to get stepped down from 220 v to 110 v and what about the frequency 50 hz up to 60 hz, or I presume I can buy MS 05 matching speakers in 110 v / 60 cycle , Any advice from you would help or anyone , If necessary I will buy 110v MS05 speakers , but wanted to check first as I love my Tyros5 keyboard and want to get it fired up asap. Thanks again --Jeff in Oklahaom now.
WOULD YOU PLEASE SHOW ME A DEMO HOW TO SET A BALL ROOM STYLE SUCH AS CHACHACHA, MAMBO, RHUMBA, BOLERO, TANGO.......IT'LL BE GREAT. MILLION THANKS IN ADVANCE.
How do you set the multi pads to have a voice of a singer like Céline Dion or other artist and we make the accompagnement and the real voice sing i have tyros 4 and 5 its look funny to do i see that in a démonstration, i write to you from Canada hope you have time to answer
Hi do you have anything that shows how to multie tracking on tyros 5 ? As I'm so used to my psr 6700 which is awesome for this especially with reggae , picking any of the backings. And altering any instrument for any other even doing own drums for reggae timing. ( Which the Japanese are hopeless at ) all done in key of C. And then when sorted. One can use it with breaks , adjust mix, in any key as you play. Please help.
Hi Tyros Tipsters - On my Tyros 5 I want to program the Multipads with a few recorded piano notes when needed but after the multi-pads have been assigned for live performance, is it possible to alter tempo for their use in case the band plays a bit faster?
When I use a multi pad in a registration memory, I can't make it to stop when I choose another registration. If I use multi pad 1 in registration memory 1 and want to change it to multipad 3 in registration memory 2, the multi pad 1 keeps playing along with multi pad 3. How can I stop the first and only play with the second? Otherwise it's a great way to improve styles.
I’ve also used them to write added parts for a rhythm, it’s not too difficult to create new ones which makes it very flexible.
Thank you for your very good and clear explonation . Both of you are perfect persons for this job.
didn't realise about the sync start on the multipads-thanks very much
All the videos are amazing. I own a PSRA 3000, but still these videos are very helpful. Thank you.

Does that have the Roland SC-88Pro Small Club sound on there? It's like a type of applause you'd find on the SC-88Pro.
Don’t b an ass
A round of applause It’s a bit self serving don’t you think 😂😂😂😂

When I play "Tequila" I use multi pads for playing the "Tequila" saying or shouting.

I think this will be possible; it would require you to alter the multi pad setting to NOT loop around first, and then save to registrations.
Hold the stop button and then press the MP you want to stop. The other MP's will continue
That is an option, but I play the keyboard from an accordeon, so I am not near the stop button. I change registration by a multi-pedal.
Video quality is piss poor. My head hurts ....... mount the camera on a tripod next time!
so. much. talk.
Thank you so much... Very helpful 👍
