As i have 2 teams i work together with/ lead as a Product Owner, i always think being honest, self reflected and down to earth is the best way to collaborate
@@DavidBurkus Another favorite: You speak up at a meeting and are told "we will discuss that alone at a later time". Would you call that stonewalling? It sends a message that speaking up is futile and please don't bring up sensitive topics.
Totally. Not only does it make one person think they’re in trouble….it sends a message to the rest of the room to stay quite. Literally the opposite of the goal.
I remember answering a question during a meeting and my boss said "SHUT UP, THAT WAS A RHETORICAL QUESTION." How's that for building trust? I have never seen a boss attempt to build anything but their own ego.

Agreed.
Hit the nail on the head here! My favorite is “anything else?” “anything else?” expressed in an annoyed tone.
Oh yeah. I’m amazed how often people think these little lines count as encouraging candor.

I love the first one 😄👍
We build true friendships in our team and the rest are just naturally happening.
Thanks so much!

Amazing testament to how fast trust can get totally destroyed.
This is great and timely info for myself. Thanks for this!
Thanks so much Mike!
