Just to clear up the red dot discussion. Basically he is stating that due to the inherent inaccuracy present in the weapon itself, you had roughly a 4" margin of error at that distance, making the idea that a shooter PLANNED to only hit the ear absolutely ridiculous (Garand Thumb covers this a bit more thoroughly in his video on the topic)
MOA is based off the rifle not the optic a rifle straped down won't shoot the same spot over and over again this rife in the video has an MOA of 3 at 100 yards which means at a 100 yards youll have a 3 inch grouping of where your rounds hit no matter the optic
@@vincentpanicucci9118 correct. Extrapolating from 100 yds to 130 gives you the 4". He also said the dot covered basically the entire head at that distance, which makes even just targeting the ear impossible. So both are relevant, but the dot has nothing to do with the 4" margin.
@@vincentpanicucci9118the optic can decrease the MOA slightly if its a magnifyied optic. Being that he used a red dot it would be the equivalent of the rifles MOA only.
@@vincentpanicucci9118the dot size in red dots are given in MOA as well. Meaning a 3 moa dot would cover 3 moa worth of the target at whatever distance your shooting. So at the distance the shot was taken a 3moa dot would cover ~3.5" of target. Combine this with the accuracy of the rifle and it starts to show why it's not considered a precision platform/optic

One part of this is the money trail. Austin Private Wealth, APW, shorted Trump Media stock the day before the shooting (Friday, July 12) with a very substantial sum of money, betting that Trump Media stock would quickly decline. APW is majority owned by BlackRock & Vanguard. Coincidentally, the shooter was in a BlackRock commercial that has since been removed. His father was also seen in a BlackRock presentation. Both parents of the shooter are professional counselors. All strange.
Holy cow!! I watched this video yesterday and it was very interesting. The last one was pretty great. It’s very informative and gives you truth and light on the situation at hand. Thank you, Mr. Terry!
From what I've read, the snipers equipped with 300 win mags weren't able to get the shot off, and the snipers equipped with .308s were the ones that shot him. Hence, his skull not exploding.
The head they had there is from Ballistic Dummy Labs, and is about as materially identical to a human head as you can get without going to a butcher. Garrand Thumb did a lot more explaining the terms in his video... both went up on pepperbox at the same time, so watched one then the other, but the "MOA" or margin of accuracy is based on the slight defects in the bullets, slight differences in the powder in the cartridge, differences in the barrel and the harmonics of that barrel (remember seeing the AK 50 in slow motion, how the barrel deformed as the shot happened). A standard AR has a 3 MOA, which means the bullet will be off the exact mark by as much as 3" at 100 yards, or nearing 5" at the 150 yards the attack happened from. As gun crimes become more of a concern in our modern era, I wish all reporters took at least a couple trips to a gun range like you did. It seriously damages the rest of their reporting when they make a basic error like the ones we have seen the last 2 weeks, and we really REALLY need to get back to a point we can watch the news without it being "is this reporter my team or the bad team".
fun fact. the triangle that the top of your nose to the corners of your mouth makes... that's an instant lights out. other parts of the head, the body may still have some jerking motions (if someone has a detonator in their hand, not a good thing).
There was actually a video game created that was a jfk assassination simulator. The creator of the game made it under the guise of "proving the official story." In reality, he made it because he understood the weapon used and its ballisticd well enough that he knew the lee harvey oswald story is literally impossible. So the game grades your accuracy on how close you got to recreating the assassination, and the highest score anyone has ever gotten was 60%.
About 15 years ago, or so, there was an Australian sniper team that, almost perfectly, recreated the JFK assassination shot and the "not so magic bullet".
So for context on the distance. A brand new soldier in basic is expected to be able to hit targets out to 300 meters with an M4 carbine with Irons or a dot after a few days instruction. 130yds in the prone is basically a freebie shot. The one factor that caused the shooter to miss was likely being interrupted by the two officers peeking onto the roof at the last second causing him to rush.
@@wyattjeter7891 I mean I have no doubt it was the bullet personally. But I do have a small belief in the two that it was left to take the shot on purpose. The sniper using that scope should have seen if he brushed his teeth let alone if he had a gun. But he asked for permission to shoot 2 minutes before saying he wasn't sure if there was a gun thats bs.
@@wyattjeter7891 in addition theres a lot suggestion the shot came from behind from the water tower and (this part I'm not sure on) but I was told on of the goers was sitting infront of trump and got hit. Plus theres video of maybe someone on the water tower. All those make me believe those slightly. either way tragic. Glad he's alive.
19:34 I saw a fairly close-up picture of the shooter's corpse early on. I haven't been able to find it since and I didn't stare at it to memorize it or anything, but his head had a lot less damage. It's possible that the back part of his skull was gone, but the rest was still there and he still had a face. Cue the conspiracy theories.
Saw that too, I suspect they hit him lower, maybe neck/upper chest, bc the face was mostly intact, or maybe he turned his head too and the back of the skull was blown away.
Energy bleeds off at distance. 300 winchester magnum bleeds off a little more then 200 feet per second per 100 meters of distance. That's around 350 foot pounds of energy lost per 100 meters.
In regards to the ballistic gel heads: Ballistic gel is intended to as close as possible replicate skin and muscle tissue, without using actual organic tissue. As to the shot on the shooter facsimile: I'm assuming Brandon and his crew do not know exactly what round the Secret Service/PD security teams were using, so it's entirely possible that the damage caused could have been increased or decreased depending on the round in use. They said repeatedly that they tried to get as close as possible to what they know based on knowledge they have, but if the defense snipers were using a subsonic round, the damage could be considerably less.
Brandon also did re-creations of the JFK and MLK assassinations. The JFK one is his most popular video to date, around 10M-11M views. It would be a good one to react to!
I wish I could remember the name of the documentary I saw years ago, but they did recreate the JFK shooting with the same type of rifle, ballistic gel dummies replicating both Kennedy and Connally (complete with actual bones), and with the shooter hoisted up in a bucket truck. The bullet went through “Kennedy’s” neck, then through “Connally’s” chest and wrist before bouncing off his thigh. This was nearly identical to the wounds in the actual assassination (aside from the bullet actually being embedded in Connally’s leg). Oh, and it came out pristine.
And btw they have the most realistic gel dummy’s with a skeleton on the inside. They’re usually only used for military and law enforcement training but Brandan and the crew all being a part of both of those and world famous gunsmiths have access to the best.
For reference, I recommend a video that was filmed by GarandThumb called "50 cal vs human head." They hit the ear AND the cheekbone. Very good reference despite the events that followed on July 13th.
9:48 What's bad about this is that people _will_ buy into it, even though anyone who's deep into boxing, wrestling, and/or MMA can probably tell you that that's cauliflower ear. A result from blunt-force trauma to the external ear's cartilage. Last I checked, bullets do their damage by piercing the skin and tumbling in the body, and grazes from bullets are effectively a combination of laceration and burning.
So balistic gel is made to represent the general consistency of flesh, muscles, etc. They create a facsimile, but the structure is different, skin and its elasticity usually keeps you together better than shots like you saw at the end there... usually...sometimes.
FYI, the Range they are filming this video at is the range at the Desperado Resort which is owned by Matt, the guy who's shirt the virgin the was wearing.
19:40 yes and no it all depends on the angle of entry. the shooter was hit not so square on, so he came off better then that but yeah, if you were hit from that dead on, with that kind of shot, yeah, that is what would happen with a head
Yeah I do remember some documentary that got the Carcano rifle and set up two dummies and tried to recreate the Kenedy "magic" bullet. They manage to make an almost 1 to 1 result to what actually happened. It was wild how close they got.
Apparently early on an officer said glass from a canera or a prompter hit him. Then they examined one of the pictures snd you can see the bullet. Looks like a stretched out brass line.
Here is something everyone is not realizing, "If a person is able to make a successful near miss nicking the ear, they can hit you no problem." Now as far as turning the head, the only thing that changes is the impact point on the head itself.
Garand thumb did a video more in-depth on the shooting with more education on the firearms used. He’s a former Airforce SERE instructor and definitely has good information to put out on recent events
FBI now saying he might have been hit by shrapnel... But my question is "shrapnel from what?" Seemed pretty quick after the shot for that and there didn't seem to be any flying debris caught on video. I definitely believe he was lightly grazed by a bullet that was aimed at his head, and it bled badly like most head wounds do, but was left mostly intact.
Some people have watched waaaay too many movies/games if they think any person who isn’t suicidal is going to _volunteer_ to get shot at in general, let alone an attempt to nick an ear. Even if you have an expert marksman.
The issue is people with no firearms knowledge or experience think the AR-15 fires this devastating round. People, like one of the twitter comments they showed in the video, think it just makes people explode like an anti-material rifle. the 5.56, or 2.23 round the AR-15 shoots is basically the same size as a .22, it just has more powder so it flies faster. It's actually a really small bullet.

That hole is VERY close to his head and it looks like he may have a graze on his right cheek that aims right at where that hole is. He got very lucky and had some serious angelic protection with this attempt.
The myth busters did a recreation of the Kennedy assassination.
To hit the ear is possible if you are master sniper in a video game with 99% accuracy, and a rifle that does not exist today.
5:30 no, alcohol and guns do not mix and these guys are pretty good at hammering that home. No Darwin Awards
They might joke about it but when the guns are out the jokes are done.
He clearly isn't familiar with them
I'm legit surprised you're reacting to this but I'm here for it!!
6:24 Demilition Ranch, Matt Carricker
Ballistic gel is really accurate
The only thing missing was Trump holding a 1 1/2 hour speech trashing the shooter.
"This shooter's terrible, I was shot by him I said 'Wow, what a terrible shooter'."
"This shooter's terrible, I was shot by him I said 'Wow, what a terrible shooter'."
"Oh, he fell down."
Chubby Electron Man wins again.
I turned 30 that day. But frankly I’m not exactly surprised.
About 15 years ago, or so, there was an Australian sniper team that, almost perfectly, recreated the JFK assassination shot and the "not so magic bullet".
Did you ever hear of the story called Man with the Golden Ear?
I thought not. It's not a story the media likes to tell.
Thank you for the reaction!
im sorry, ak15? these twitter users dont even know the name of the gun
Thanks for your honest reaction to this vid. I think that Trump's injury was much closer to his first shot that he was unsatisfied with.
The only recreation of JFK’s assassination I can think of is a highly controversial video game
A House Committee did a re-enactment in Dealy Plaza in the late seventies. I visited Dealy Plaza and there were still tape markings on the pavement.
20:17 Paused at the right moment. Yeah, looks more like Crooks. Lol 😂
The glass theory is a teleprompter was hit and the glass hit him.
Tbf if it was a 50 cal his head exploding from being nicked im told is not that off
Unfortunately for that theory, all teleprompters were fully intact
Yes, a 50bmg could do that type of damage, but it wasn't so it's irrelevant.
@@nukem8128 he asked if a gun could. So I said a type that could.
14:54 tbf trump did golf more than most presidents
11:12 you should check out the slow mo guys. they have a lot of fascinating stuff.
none of it's historical though
The shot was pretty damn close, but remember, balistic gel dummies dont have ear cartilage
Oh yeah, it's all approximations in a simulation.
Always happy to watch your videos
In regards to the ballistic gel heads: Ballistic gel is intended to as close as possible replicate skin and muscle tissue, without using actual organic tissue. As to the shot on the shooter facsimile: I'm assuming Brandon and his crew do not know exactly what round the Secret Service/PD security teams were using, so it's entirely possible that the damage caused could have been increased or decreased depending on the round in use. They said repeatedly that they tried to get as close as possible to what they know based on knowledge they have, but if the defense snipers were using a subsonic round, the damage could be considerably less.
sadly, my aunt died two days after the trump assassination attempt
Sorry to hear 🕊️
That camera costs about $200K The Ballistic High Speed team uses 3 or 4 per shoot.
holy moly!
I'm not as concerned about their golf games as I am about their general health.
Can anyone imagine Trump getting on a bicycle?
I don't need a bicyclist for a President.
And btw they have the most realistic gel dummy’s with a skeleton on the inside. They’re usually only used for military and law enforcement training but Brandan and the crew all being a part of both of those and world famous gunsmiths have access to the best.
I was immediately thinking sniper elite and then you said it
For reference, I recommend a video that was filmed by GarandThumb called "50 cal vs human head." They hit the ear AND the cheekbone. Very good reference despite the events that followed on July 13th.
Mr Terry the Bryson golf video was filmed over a month ago but was only released recently, which is why there’s no bandage on trump in the video
And in a real ear the temporary wound cavity wouldn’t be that big because of the cartilage. So even this is exaggerated. 13:30
12:52 people confuse 5.56 rounds with bloody artillery and tank rounds.
Get drunk? Very. Shoot guns? Lots. Get drunk and shoot guns? No sir.
So balistic gel is made to represent the general consistency of flesh, muscles, etc. They create a facsimile, but the structure is different, skin and its elasticity usually keeps you together better than shots like you saw at the end there... usually...sometimes.
A: if you get clipped in the ear, it brings forth a quote from George Washington…”something about getting missed “
FYI, the Range they are filming this video at is the range at the Desperado Resort which is owned by Matt, the guy who's shirt the virgin the was wearing.
2:56 myth busters did a really good episode on the Kennedy shot, but it was years ago.
3:00 you already know Brewstew has the best jfk reenactment you could watch
Matt who made the shirt also owns the range this vid was done at.
The picture he took with netanyahu showing where he got hit, but there wasn't anything missing XD
Flesh colored bandages, genius
19:40 yes and no
it all depends on the angle of entry. the shooter was hit not so square on, so he came off better then that
but yeah, if you were hit from that dead on, with that kind of shot, yeah, that is what would happen with a head
It was Congress Rep, the House. For the area covering the largest stretch of border.
I believe Bryson said they shot that round like 9 days before the attempt…
Here is something everyone is not realizing, "If a person is able to make a successful near miss nicking the ear, they can hit you no problem." Now as far as turning the head, the only thing that changes is the impact point on the head itself.
Flesh colored bandaids for the win. He still has a bandaid on the ear even now. Ears, especially the top of the ear, are very prone to bleeding.
Great video Mr Terry .
Some reactions to old historical weapons would be pretty interesting!
You absolutely should watch his video with his recreation of the Kennedy assassination
Garand thumb did a video more in-depth on the shooting with more education on the firearms used. He’s a former Airforce SERE instructor and definitely has good information to put out on recent events
Ballistic gel is pretty similar to the strength of flesh but the dummies don’t have skin which helps hold everything together.
10:10 wait, that image is from boxer who had cauliflower ear.
I personally think Brandon nailed it.
The "dummy" came from Ballistic dummy labs. It is about the most similar you can get to a real human analog.
how he hit anything is a surprise.
The RUclipsr who’s shirt he was wearing owns the range they are on.
