Jason X wasn't going for scares. It was going for cheese. Anaconda wasn't going for scares. It's a creature feature. You're supposed to root for the snake even though you know it's going to die at the end. The Haunting... I don't even know what they were going for with that movie. The original black and white film is fantastic though. Resident Evil wasn't trying to be a horror movie. Sure, they put in some jump scares but it was meant to be a zombie, mutant sci-fi action fest. Hell, people like to boast about the games but they're even more cheesy than the films with their bad voice acting and insane plots.Thinner, none of his movies are scary. Lucas Pigliavento I actually liked Let Me In better....although they left out the cat attack scene! I'm prejudice though, because I really like Chloe Grace Moretz.
I personally think The Seed of Chucky should have made the HM instead of Bride, because I personally laughed alot during Seed for how ridiciculous it was xD
1. I enjoyed The Happening and One Missed Call and FeardotCom. 2. Jaws isn't horror. It's more thriller. (But The Revenge DID suck.) 3. The only reason Chucky creeps me out is because I'm terrified of dolls lol 4. I think Leprechaun was going for funny, not scary
Kaylee Kristina In the modern time where zombies are that overused..it's hard to make a Zombie-Horror-Movie using the classical zombies (one reason I like World War Z because it's an action movie using zombies..no horror included). But, yeah. Resident Evil was good movie nonetheless.
I agree with most of the list, but I liked Thinner. It's not so much scary as a psychological thriller. And, when the "white man from town" declares war - I think it's cool. Certainly he deserved to be punished but so did they - they took their idea of justice too far. The man accidently killed someone - it wasn't murder.
Anaconda's not a horror film. It's a thriller/adventure. Resident Evil also isn't horror. It's action/thriller. Does WatchMojo know the difference between horror and thriller? Because it doesn't appear that they do.
depending on your perspective of "thinner," it's actually not a bad movie. if you look at it as a drama instead of a horror film, it's not bad at all. somewhat entertaining.
It's really entertaining in that bat-shit crazy Stephen King way, and it's campy as hell, but there's also some genuinly creepy moments in it. And it's really mean spirited, which is wonderful :) Not Holland's best, but still pretty enjoyable.
I think they gave up on Jaws too soon. Look at the success of the Sharknado franchise. There were so many avenues they could have explored. They could have given Jaws wings or feet or even done a jaws in space.
Call me crazy y'all.... but i think Anaconda knew it was a cheesy B movie. The snake swallows Jon Voight, spits him out, and he winks after being spit out alive from a huge snake. I don't see how that was ever being made for scares lol.
The Woman In Black was more about atmosphere than outright horror. I thought it was pretty good, apart from the acting. A good, old-fashioned ghost story.
mariosmyhomie97 Yep, I have a differing opinion than the general public: automatic hipster. Everyone throws that phrase around where it's not needed. It doesn't even work in this sense. I never liked any of those games. Hipsters generally like them, then don't when they become popular.
101OmegaProject101 you name the 3 of the scariest games in the modern era and say they didnt scare you. you even go so far as to say they are 3 of the least scary games of all time. your clearly trying to shit on everyone. you just view the "in" crowd as a bad thing. while its great to be different, dont try and be different, just be you. dont like/dislike something just to be different, which clearly you are doing
mariosmyhomie97 I'm not having a differing opinion to be different, I'm having a differing opinion because it's my opinion. I genuinely don't find these games scary. I'm not allowed to have an opinion without it being called "stupid" or "hipster" because everyone else finds it scary. Do you know how stupid you sound saying that?
101OmegaProject101 its not that you dont find these games scary (i find 2/3 pretty meh), its that you go so far as to call them some of the least scary games EVER. that suggests that your some dbag who looks down on others who for liking popular games. if millions of people get scared by the game, its probably not deserving of a spot on a list for "least scary games ever".
The Happening didn't deserve to be on the list, it is actually pretty clever if you understand the slightest thing about plants, enzyms and natural selection... A professor of my university even took it as an example (he was still correcting some things the movie didn't get right), because the overall idea is still logical... And it acutally doesn't belong into the horror genre...
Sure the idea was clever but the problem was as a movie it just wasn't good I remember laughing in the theater when I sought and it was supposed to be a horror filmin the happenings case the trailer actually made it look a lot more convincing in the movie wasjust atrocious
It's a clever idea but the execution seems like a complete cop-out. If they had done a bit more with it and made the plant shit a little more obvious or at least hinted an explanation, then it would have made much more sense.
Silent Night broke me as a man I will always be afraid to take out the trash and fear of being gunned down just because I don't want trash in my house.
Thinner is an amazing revenge movie. Some of Stephen King's best work is non-horror. Why is this included in the list? And also, Troll 2 is a fantasy film like the first one. To your credit, there were supposed to be scary moments (which obviously failed) but it's not a horror film. Paranormal Activity is a good example of a horror film that failed to be scary.
***** The only movies that actually scared me when I was younger were Pet Sematary, The Witches (1990 film), Jeepers Creepers and The Ring (US version.) The Shining and The Exorcist were a bit creepy in places but I don't think they're as scary as people make out.
I actually would watch this movie over most declared horror movies out there today. Even though I don't think it's horror, it was still a good thriller.
Yeah I wouldn't call Bride of Chucky a horror, more of a campy dark comedy, it's awesome because it doesn't take the premise to seriously, the same goes for Ronny Yu's other film Freddy vs Jason.
You forgot every single Final Destination movie... laughed my ass off throughout every single one.. actually got sent out of the cinema when watching The Final Destination {2009).. for laughing too loudly

I thought it was meant to be a comedy, or was I the only one who was laughing the entire time?
The original one from the 70's is actually really creepy
KENNY!
Hey its Abmer! Hey its ABMER!!
Why... Yes it is.....Hi there
I feel that Chucky was trying to be a horror comedy....
Bride of chuvky
And the newer child’s play
Please make a top 10 Nicholas cage attempting to act video
How about Jack Frost? I honestly though it would be 1st!
Wtf is Gingerdead man
Elyzabeth Gagnon it’s a complete garbage franchise goggle it
Maximum overdrive?
Michael Caine said about Jaws the Revenge, "I did not see the movie but I saw the house it bought me"
Wait... I always thought Bride of Chucky was a comedy, I mean like on purpose.😂
Horror comedy
Shark kills your family. Move to an island surrounded by water and travel on a boat. I mean WTF.
Yeah I love sharks they so cuuuuuuuute!
No he actually loved sharks and felt bad when people started killing them and crap like that (I'm talking about the guy who made jaws)
How can a shark have revenge when it was destroyed and more importantly: How do Sharks mate?
Just like us!
i heard sharks only eat you if they mistake you for something else. once they recognize human blood, they are no longer interested
The one missed call Japanese version of the movie was so much better than the American one
Only The Ring was a succesful remake, other than that, all american remakes are pale in comparisons to their original
+TheKrilicious I thought The Grudge was a good remake
+TheKrilicious i thought that let me in was a good remake but it isn't as good as the original let the right one in
+James Brice I thought it was good but not as amazing as the original
Lucas Pigliavento I actually liked Let Me In better....although they left out the cat attack scene! I'm prejudice though, because I really like Chloe Grace Moretz.
They didn't even play the "Garbage Day!" clip. That is a crime.
XD
A crime against humanity
"Garbage Day!" is awesome though
WE NEED BACKUP
Banded Klefki what the hell is garbage day
9:39 OH MY GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWDD
kinda sounds like Tal from reaction time does it not??
It does doesn't it
Yo are you a step chicken?
I personally think The Seed of Chucky should have made the HM instead of Bride, because I personally laughed alot during Seed for how ridiciculous it was xD
ecspecially the beginning scene with the sperm....
Bride and Seed were actually meant to be comedies, not horror
Maybe cause seed wasn't really considered horror it's more comedy based
I died when i first saw "SHITFACE" COME OUT I STILL FREAKIN CRACK UP😂😂😂😂
Just seeing Glen talk in Japanese when he first met his parents made me laugh so freakin hard xD
1. I enjoyed The Happening and One Missed Call and FeardotCom.
2. Jaws isn't horror. It's more thriller. (But The Revenge DID suck.)
3. The only reason Chucky creeps me out is because I'm terrified of dolls lol
4. I think Leprechaun was going for funny, not scary
I think Troll 2 should have taken this crown.
You know: Watchmojo.
Jason X, Bride of Chucky, Leprechaun and Anaconda were always meant to be horror comedies.
Didn't know chucky was a horror I always thought it was a dark comedy
I think it's under that weird sort of 80s/90s horror that turned into dark comedy as it was never that scary
Child's Play 1-3 and Curse of Chucky were meant to be horror movies. Bride and Seed were meant to be dark comedies.
It didn't seem like a horror just like scream
Lanox Hits Bills
scream is a satire
Resident Evil was a pretty good movie though.
True just not scary
exactly..it didn't match the game at all and we all agree on this, but as a generic horror movie I liked it a lot
Kaylee Kristina In the modern time where zombies are that overused..it's hard to make a Zombie-Horror-Movie using the classical zombies (one reason I like World War Z because it's an action movie using zombies..no horror included).
But, yeah. Resident Evil was good movie nonetheless.
The R.E movies are awesome, true not scary but they are awesome anyway, really looking forward to the release of the 6th movie next year :-)
i don't think the movie was trying to be scary, i think it was just trying to hint on the smash em up part of zombie movies
They're eating her, then they're gunna eat me.... OH MY GOOOOOOOOD!!
laughed so hard at that lol
Lmao!!! >.
Stephen King is amazing on paper. Movies never do the books justice. Loved the book Christine but the movie sucked.
You know John Carpenter made Christine.
Zen Razor so? The movie still sucked compared to the book
Misery, Shawshank, stand by me. There’s been some good adaptations
Leeahna Miller that movie was awesome
Anaconda's not a horror film. It's a thriller/adventure. Resident Evil also isn't horror. It's action/thriller.
Does WatchMojo know the difference between horror and thriller? Because it doesn't appear that they do.
And yet they both failed to be thrilling in any way shape or form. At least Anaconda is a good drunk movie and Resident evil is alright at best
And Jason X is more slash movie
I'm guessing it they were classified as horror because of how ( pun intended ) horrible they were.
jmcvg Slasher is a subgenre of horror.
Their the same thing dummy
i thought the the Anaconda movie by Nikki Minaj was pretty scary tho.
JASON X IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER MADE.
CLOSE BEHIND IS JASON TAKES MANHATTAN.
martin scorsese wrote the ssreenplay.
Darecky wolf of wall street anyone?
Thomas Metcalfe
best movie of 2013 in my opinion.
Best move e ever in mine
Disregarding Pulp fiction
3:03 me when I rise from my bed knowing that its weekend
depending on your perspective of "thinner," it's actually not a bad movie. if you look at it as a drama instead of a horror film, it's not bad at all. somewhat entertaining.
It's really entertaining in that bat-shit crazy Stephen King way, and it's campy as hell, but there's also some genuinly creepy moments in it. And it's really mean spirited, which is wonderful :) Not Holland's best, but still pretty enjoyable.
And that scene with the gypsy girl dancing when she knows she's being watched... Like... WOW!
Yeah; I found that the book was more creepy and I was unnerved by how willing the protagonist was to let someone close to him waste away in his place.
animeotaku307 Yes, I was shocked how much he came to hate his wife. I can't really see why to be honest, but it happened, so there you go.
My anaconda don't...
Want none unless you got buns hon!
I did to 😝😝😝
oops...
My anaconda don't want you to mention this shit any more.
***** Cartoon porn? Who the fuck would even be turned ON by cartoon porn?!?!?!?! that's discusting....
I think they gave up on Jaws too soon. Look at the success of the Sharknado franchise. There were so many avenues they could have explored. They could have given Jaws wings or feet or even done a jaws in space.
Jaws in Space 😂
I mailed in a Rocky vs. Jaws movie, but those Hollywood clowns wouldn't even look at my script. It's all politics.
The put sharks in Sharknado,hahah!
been waiting my whole life for that jaws in space movie
jaws in space lmfao
Da leprechaun on the tricycle sounds like a 5 yr old on his new bike😂😂
1:43
MY ANACONDA DON'T
MY ANACONDA DON'T
MY ANACONDA DON'T WANT NONE UNLESS YOU GOT BUNS SON
why just why that song
Waleed Ahmed18 step AWAY from the joke !
+Lazy Boy Link Eeeeewwww!
+Lazy Boy Link Eeeeewwww! LOL
Call me crazy y'all.... but i think Anaconda knew it was a cheesy B movie. The snake swallows Jon Voight, spits him out, and he winks after being spit out alive from a huge snake. I don't see how that was ever being made for scares lol.
My mom loves anaconda
I do too but we both agree
That it's cheesy
T Don
Did you ever think
That you should
Paranormal activity should have been on the list.
Ikr
His name is John Voight. Not "Angelina jolies father".
Gotta say I thought Thinner was a decent movie.
And a great book!! The ending was good too. An interesting twist
Loved the book. Needless to say, a lot better than the movie.
+Jeff Eastwood The book is always better than the movie. Especially Stephen King.
Sophia ann
I may be one of the few who thinks "The Shining" was better as a movie.
Yea, I loved that movie...it was well made and had more psychological horror ...
The Woman In Black? I personally don't find a woman in a black veil scary, and the fact that they're making a sequel to it is depressing.
The sequel is actually scary
Yyhjhhjhhyhfvghc$%45⅝54⁴4444444⁴0ⁿ000000
there is a sequel?? well damn
That film is more about building a tense atmosphere, rather than being outright scary; something I personally think it accomplishes.
The Woman In Black was more about atmosphere than outright horror. I thought it was pretty good, apart from the acting. A good, old-fashioned ghost story.
Let's do least scary video games next: Slender, Outlast, and Five Nights At Freddie's should be on the list.
i see you think all the things other people find scary you dont. Hipster bitch
mariosmyhomie97 Yep, I have a differing opinion than the general public: automatic hipster.
I just passed 12 years old and chuck (chucky) is just hilarious
Enjoy it while it lasts.
I wachted Child's Play yesterday with a friend, and then her 4 year old sister came in. She wouldn't stop watching because she said it was funny 😂😂😂😂😂
Top 10 unintentionally scary movies.
Where's Drag Me to Hell? Literally the funniest excuse of a horror film I have ever seen.
It's supposed to be funny, genius.
It want's funny OR scary, it was complete shit
***** So is Chucky but that still made it on the list...
TBH Drag me to hell is one of my favorite movie of all time :D It was so much fun :D
I thought I was the only one thinking that
Can you do the most scary horror films next?
angel's melancholy number one.
Lets wait until as above so below
thats what tf they should of done, i think!
there aren't any.
I actually like the wicker man, but I didn't really find it that scary, probably one of the main reasons I like it.... Nicholas Cage
Neither was the original but atleast it was good
The Happening didn't deserve to be on the list, it is actually pretty clever if you understand the slightest thing about plants, enzyms and natural selection...
A professor of my university even took it as an example (he was still correcting some things the movie didn't get right), because the overall idea is still logical...
And it acutally doesn't belong into the horror genre...
Couldn't agree more. :)
Sure the idea was clever but the problem was as a movie it just wasn't good I remember laughing in the theater when I sought and it was supposed to be a horror filmin the happenings case the trailer actually made it look a lot more convincing in the movie wasjust atrocious
I don't think it belongs to the horror genre at all...
It can be placed somewhere with I Am Legend , like a pre-/post-apocalyptic genre
It's a clever idea but the execution seems like a complete cop-out. If they had done a bit more with it and made the plant shit a little more obvious or at least hinted an explanation, then it would have made much more sense.
Loved the idea of it, however the terrible acting ruined the movie for me.
Hell yeah, I agree with all you said, and Thinner. I really got into the whole, white man from town curse he made up to fuck with those dirty gypsies.
I think Thinner is about the vilification of male sexuality and the unaccountably of women. It clearly went over WatchMojo's heads.
***** The only movies that actually scared me when I was younger were Pet Sematary, The Witches (1990 film), Jeepers Creepers and The Ring (US version.) The Shining and The Exorcist were a bit creepy in places but I don't think they're as scary as people make out.
Indeed, I was surprised to see Thinner on this list, it wasn't a "scary" movie in that sense, but it was still a great film.
I actually would watch this movie over most declared horror movies out there today. Even though I don't think it's horror, it was still a good thriller.
'Seed of Chucky' should've been #1 and it didn't even get an honorable mention.
1. Paranormal activity, if you pretend its a movie about ninjas.
That just made every viewing session of a Paranormal Activity movie 10 times better.
You sir are a genius! I know what I'm watching later...
Yeah I wouldn't call Bride of Chucky a horror, more of a campy dark comedy, it's awesome because it doesn't take the premise to seriously, the same goes for Ronny Yu's other film Freddy vs Jason.
I think most people have only seen it cos they thought they might see Jennifer Tillys tits & ended up watching all of it ha ha
You forgot every single Final Destination movie... laughed my ass off throughout every single one.. actually got sent out of the cinema when watching The Final Destination {2009).. for laughing too loudly
agreed, there not scary there just gross and nauseating
Zooey deschanel has doll eyes instead of human eyes, now THAT'S scary!
The Happening could have been done better i think, like the concept is kind of interesting, but the execution is just poor.
Oh noooooooo plants
It was done better.... Invasion of the Body Snatchers. XD
Michael Coates agreed
I actually like the first half
You've obviously never seen birdemic
So cheesy and unrealistic, IT'S SCARY
I think that they put that in the same category as "The Room". The genre of "We spent way too much money on directors that don't give a crap".
I think the fact that not a single frame of birdemic is in this video is easily the best part of this video.
Wait Birdemic was a HORROR movie? I thought it was a comedy.
XxGranTurismoMan98xX
so it's so bad it's good?
I love Bride Of Chucky
9:47-9:52- And thus, a meme was born.
Throw these in the trash
cause it's Garbage Day
Resident Evil was actually pretty scary
Are you a fucking eight year old
Maybe
The first two Res movies are good the rest.... should've been on the list
I agree
Resident evil shouldn't be on this list, the series is action movies.... Not remotely even horror
The scariest part of The Haunting is when the piano string snaps and whips the girls eye!
IKR!!!
7:49 I thought the girl was talking at first
i found Ouija a pretty cliche and not scary movie. personal opinion though
Ouija is so cliche even the ending like every other dumbass horror movie uses
i know, i was laughing through the movie predicting everything
I knew the Ing was going to be like every other horror movie where you can't destroy it
ending*
Bruce Wayne only batman can laugh at a horror movie
The fuck kind of horror movie is called "Leprecaun: In The Hood". Dora's probably way scarier.
Nick Cabrera you sir made my day
The hood is probably terrifying for a small white man
depends if he's armed
If compton is ever the subject in an conversation, and someone starts saying: isnt that the place where leprechaun in the hood took place, I will slap the shit out of that person xD
Dat gangsta leppy-G in da hood
How did Troll 2 not beat out Leprechaun? It's a terrible film, altogether, while Leprechaun is only terrible at being scary. Still a classic film.
Leprechaun also stars the wonderful Warwick Davis.
+Angel Bowfinger I think that was exactly why Leprechaun won.
I can't believe k you didn't mention that the Nick Cage Wicker Man was a remake a genuinely scary and cult classic British original.
Same
Yh ,they said that the haunting is a remake but not the wicker man
The "OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!" Got me good
