He sings it about his family in Ireland and how much he misses them. The New Directions sing along and watch, but Santana comments at the end that it was completely "depressing" and that this Christmas should be happy, because the Glee Club's last Christmas was filled with horror.

I couldn't imagine if Damian haven't got the role of Rory. He's the one that spiced up season 4, alongside Samuel Larsen his Project's co-winner. Such underrated talent but totally one-of-a-kind.

Loved Damian since I first saw him as a younger boy in the first Celtic Thunder. His voice changed, but it’s amazing.
He has a great voice for sure, let's remember that who plays Rory is Damian, one of the winners of the first season of Glee Project and as such he was only invited to a few episodes and in them he had few solos and made corps of the main cast. The scams did not give him the opportunity of a more recurring role
Rory is such an angel. My mom loves him so much.
I started whimpering and crying (on the inside) when I first saw this part of the episode, it reminded me of the first time I heard song in the classic stop motion picture 'The Year without a Santa Claus' as a child, and boy, did I ball my eyes out every time that song plays! And I still do, sometimes!
If anyone wants to hear Damian McGinty at his best, just look up "come by the hills". Or "A Bird Without Wings" or anything he did with Celtic Thunder really.
Truth be told? He really held back on glee, he was great, but only showing less than a quarter of what he can do with that set of pipes he's got!

I feel the same way about the song. I was listening to Kelly Clarkson sing it and I was thinking "Isn't the point of a Christmas album to spread holiday cheer?" :)

I hate Santana for saying it was depressing. It meant a lot for him. And Christmas isn’t just about joy sometimes, it can be hard and sometimes Christmas is also very hypocrite (more Times than you know)! Rory is soo right

Did this show only do two or three Elvis PResley songs? Because as much as I also would've wanted to hear them sing 'Devil in Disguise', 'Don't be Cruel', 'Heartbreak hotel' (and to compare it with a performance of 'Lonely Avenue' by Ray Charles), 'Houndog' (and to compare it with a. performance of the original version by Big Mama Thornton'), 'I'm In Love I'm All Shook Up' and 'Blue Suede Shoes', I just heard 'In the Ghetto' and 'If I Can Dream', and I now keep trying to pick someone in the club to sing those songs in particular.
