- Today I'm renting a Penske cabover Truck with a liftgate and moving a digital press. I don't look forward to moving equipment, but it needs to be done from time to time. I typical bring, all my tools, dock plate, straps, pallet jack, pieces of wood cribbing, blankets. You never know what you will need.
Looking forward to seeing paper come out of this machine and starting to analyze total cost of ownership on a machine maintained by yours truly. Thanks for watching!
Man this video was so thrilling especially the part when you tried to get out the main unit from the truck and that dock plate seemed too thin to support such wheight. $9K for that production press is a good deal !! I'm excited to see the "old-new" partner in action.

When you move and rig equipment it's just like life..... Better to have more and not need than need more and not have..... Our shop bought a Versafold and I one other employee went with me states over to pick it up. He thought we had "over packed" until he saw me rig and cinch everything in the truck.... Good times and great advice Dan.....

I was scurred. Also flared my ptsd up from the time I dropped a docutech print engine off the back of a truck...that was a sad day for me.

feel for ya.. Did an overnight trip moving an HP Indigo some 400 miles to my shop. I had a day to get it after an auction buyer defaulted (I was second inline). gobs of truck straps - and PROTIP: never trust the wall mount rails in there, they aren't made to secure loads like machines and will not always hold heavy stuff. had to bolt it to the floor after it shifted at the first turn. I wish I had a video of moving our 5x10 cnc and 5 meter billboard press. we used a 25 ton crane on one move - up and over the building to the back.. i usually rent a forklift at each end to do this, so I can skip the liftgate as they get risky on an angle.
Wow, that would be interesting to see that rigging! Moving equipment is fun and horrifying at the same time, its weird.
Everything we have in our shop has a backup. Two digital presses. 3 folders. 2 web presses. A komori sheeted but one web with a sheeter on it. 3 saddle stitchers. A digital stitcher. A digital perfect binder. A diplo finisher. Two envelope presses...
Backups are great. Eliminates tons of stress!

the envelop unit will also fit the c3070 (according to KM) we use it a lot on our c1070. The envelopes wil come out perfect straight and very nicely printed. the envelopes with window must be the digital ones but without window any envelope will do just fine. Tip if you need to print just a few window enveloppes and you do not have the digital ones, just put some post it notes over the window and the wil print just fine.

@@justaprinter The EF-103 envelope fuser runs at 1/2 rated engine speed on the C1070, but at full rated speed on the C3070, so you might get more joy out of it there. For certain envelope sizes (not including #10), you may want to use the paper tray adapters (sort of like counterweights that drop on to the side guides, but if you look in tray 5 of your new PF-707, you'll see the screws look different, for hanging the adapters on). Well first things first, get the machine set up.
On another note, I didn't see the external Fiery IC-306 in the video. You didn't leave it behind, did ya?
@@The_Weissman I did see those pins and weights for the envelope. Looking forward to giving it a try. Thanks for the tip on using the 3070 to get full speed. NICE! It came with the 415 Fiery. I got stuck when I couldn't get the controller to show up. You will see on the next video. But she is up and running like a dream now!
Next time you have to get something onto the dock from a liftgate truck that's too low: Park at liftgate distance, put palettes onto the liftgate to match the dock height, then lower the liftgate so it matches the truck.Roll on, lift up, roll off, done.

1070 is "almost" the same as 3070. I'm working on both presses for almost a year now- on average 1070 can print 10/15k more color clicks on one bottle of toner (i have to note every toner change with counter).
1070 will be great addition to your print house and should be a lot cheaper than 3070 with similar quality. My only real problem with 1070 is both sides registration- even techs doesn't know whats wrong. It's so much fun when you need to rotate 359,7% and move everything 2.5mm right to print some bussiness cards :D

Man that made me a little nervous. When Konica Minolta delivered and set up my 2060 it was a workout and they brought 2 guys.
Yes, two guys would have been better. Or at least a truck at loadinf dock height! :)

Yes... I should have are some Wheaties for breakfast. Just needed to talk to it. I think the biggest hindrance was a diamond plated dock plate, a smooth surface would have been better

The 3070 has about 800,000 clicks on it now. The 1070 has about 1 million. Thanks for watching!
