The bass maxes out at 60-80% volume, depending on your EQ settings. If you go any louder, the bass sound will fall behind. For the best experience, I usually crank up the bass setting to +2 in EQ (maximum) and set the volume to around 60%.
I got my boombox yesterday after getting the extreme 3 2 days previous to that, I have connected both up as stereo and my word what a lot of lovely sound that is, there is an update to the app by the way which will update the second your try to connect both speakers as a party, hope that is helpful, I love the sound from these speakers, if anyone says otherwise then they don't own one in my opinion.
As an audio fanatic with over 25k+ invested in equipment. Placement and room size is equally important, every speaker reacts differently to placement and room especially in the bass performance. Even if this speaker is somewhat a "toy" placing it in the middle of the room in the middle of a table is just about the worse "place".
Imo 2.5 hours from 0-100 is really quick charging. It would be unrealistic to expect something like 90 minutes or less that would be horrible for the battery
Right now the JBL extreme 3 cost $379.99 most expensive speaker JBL in 2022 someday I will buy it. This speaker reaches as low 45 hertz! Close to a car boomboxes!
I too was a little disappointed with the bass at loud volume, its like the bass doesnt get any louder after 50-60% volume, but when I took it out in the pouring rain walking my dog, it was amazing the sound so loud and clear the bass at high volume was surprisingly better than I tested, as you do with a new speaker indoors, try taking it out with your favorite tune in a public place, can you do a vid on that ? I'd like to see it.
And if you turn on dolby atmos on your phone the bass is then really good, i have a bluetooth speaker already and the stock sound doeant have bass so much but after dolby omg😎😎.. Its just amazing
Sir, do have jbl extreme3 which not work..when with on is up the two seond later is off again...check the battery is OK 7.5 volts..Appreciate your advise ...
I bought two of them.I’m interested to see how they complement each other in a big room.....I’ve been buying speakers all my life and never has it been a cheap venture. Jbl ion’s, mackie monitors, carbon audio pocket speakers.
@@NickDesjarlais I couldn’t afford to buy them both at the same time. Unfortunately just not independently wealthy. But music is bigger than we all know. It’s been around since the beginning of time. Church hymns being the longest lasting. I for one gravitate towards progressive house music , tech house, Balearic trance, etc.... while church hymns move people so does other music. Music IS the answer.
If you want extra base from the extreme 3 might I suggest switching it into low frequency mode all you have to do is hold Bluetooth and volume down for 10 seconds you'll see the charging light blink off and on one time and see the ring light pop on on the top of the speaker around the top buttons and you'll hear the bass and treble increase sharply
Just a curious question when do u guys think there will be the jbl xtreme 4 probably 2022 what yall think as the xtreme 3 was released in 2020 🤔 and xtreme 2 in spring 2018 so following a 2 year update would be 2022 right
@@NickDesjarlais yes my friend thanks much so let's see as 2022 is just days away not far off 👍 Was planning to get the xtreme 3 soon but maybe I can hold off a little since its also not that cheap
@@NickDesjarlais I have a charge 3 but mayb I could rock a charge 5 for now and that will keep me satisfied until the next big xtreme is released 👍👍 charge 5 is pretty good in sound and good price not 2 bad ... not a bad idea right ... really feel like if I get a xtreme 3 now soon enough there will be the 4 then am gonna say I should have hold out a bit longer
@@russiankroos217 If you feel like you need a speaker right now, then yea the charge 5, or xtreme 3 wouldn't be a bad idea. It's hard to tell what they'll update in the xtreme 4, and a lot of times it's minor updates, so if that's the case, you could just go with the xtreme 3 now, because it honestly sounded amazing, and i think you'll be impressed. But i don't want to choose for you, i think whatever you go with, you will be happy.
@@NickDesjarlais thanks bro really appreciate those words 🙏 .... and yea I think the xtreme 3 is definitely 1 of the best out there now ... 👍👍 great punchy bass etc etc I'll definitely decide what to do
The xtreme 3 is definitely louder than the home speaker, but the home speaker is still well rounded with lots of features. If you want a smart speaker for just sitting around the house, then go with home speaker, but xtreme 3 is great for bringing anywhere, and you won't have to worry about getting it wet or dusty since it's ip67 waterproof and dustproof.
@@manu_0p365 You can if you're careful with it, but it's not fully waterproof, and it isn't dustproof. So after learning more on it, i personally wouldn't bring this one to the beach due to its hefty price.
good review but the sound is way off you need a mic that captures sound better than you have, I bought mine the other day and I love the sound and the bass is superb for the size, if you want more bass then go for the JBL boombox which I purchased today and getting tomorrow, looking forward to that one 👍😀
Hey man I appreciate the comment. Yea i'm with you on that, the mic definitely didn't pick it up that great. But good luck with the boombox dude hope you like it, i'll definitely go check it out, thanks 💪🏻
Great video, you are getting to a point where you have a fair amount of reference in terms of comparison which is an amazing thing to have as a reviewer. Remember midrange and treble are important too. And should be talked about. I think we all know how jbl sounds tho. Crispy midrange that always seems somewhat simulated and unnatural. Highs that extend far. But lack balance. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Especially for outside use. But these are just worth mentioning as feedback. I love your channel and I hope it continues to grow faster and faster every day. Comparing it to speakers like the Bose portable home speaker would be nice. I actually went and got myself a Bose portable home speaker after watching ur review and i can not be more impressed with the performance of it. In the Bose app you can adjust bass and treble. I put the bass on +30 or 40. And the treble on +10...Wish it was fully waterproof. But the sound easily covers up for its lack of durability and waterproofing... keep giving it ur all you will get there. Did some viewer research on ur channel too. Seems like the Bose comparison was really popular. (That’s how I found out about ur channel) so doing more comparison. I’m depth. Covering bass, midrange and treble. As well as the obvious like what each speaker has to offer like waterproofing, paring modes (like party mode), durability. You got this I’m rooting for you.
Fantastic critique and information my dude, thanks so much, i'll definitely take that all into consideration. And thank you for supporting the channel, it keeps me motivated!
Good to know before spending that kind of money, thanks for the info.
Thanks bro. Definitely worth it tho, especially for this summer.

Careful with the low frequency mode. At high volume you could damage the drivers, and JBL say they usually won't cover this under warranty.
The jbl extreme 3 has a higher frequency but the Equalizer makes the defrence of you looking for bass for the extreme 3.
