On a visit to Oxford a few weeks ago, Josep Borrell, the EU’s High Representative, made an interesting remark: “Diplomacy is the art of managing double standards”. its inherent hypocrisy is illustrated by contrasting the enthusiasm with which EU leaders supported the ICC’s decision to seek an arrest warrant against Putin last year, and “yet not to accept it - when it hits a member of your team” (i.e. Netanyahu).
Just to be clear: What has this deceptive diplomacy achieved? It has resulted in Moscow’s complete distrust of European leaders and the wish to have nothing further to do with them.
Putin is saying: ‘You - Europeans, who supply and operate such weapons - are already at war with Russia’. Trying to ‘manage these double standards’ won’t work; you cannot claim on the one hand, that once your munitions are transported, they magically become ‘Ukrainian’, whilst ‘narrating’ too that NATO - its surveillance assets; its ISR technicians, and its missile handlers - do not translate into ‘war with Russia’.
Plainly put, Putin effectively is saying Russia can only interpret western statements and actions as an intent for wider war. - LewRockwell

While NS-Germany was defeated and completely occupied post WW2, both Russia and China never were forced to reconcile their genocidal past and do so in an open, humble and repenting way. Thus they never developed a 21st century culture of humanity but rather lingered somewhere hooked more deeply to their past, and the often times outright fictitious history (re)written by the Soviet Communist Party. Anyway Russia's mentality of empire, humanity and ethnicity never really changed (of course it changed but not radically enough to ingrain widespread cultural reform), thus we see them still commit genocide on their peripheral ethnic neighbors and countrymen alike. It's like they reverted back to Tsarist Russia after the fall of the USSR instead of moving towards democratic and cultural liberalization. Instead what we have now is some Neo-Stalin barbarism cult, and who's to say what is to come? Personally I expect much worse from Russia and China in the coming decade.

So basically, Borrell has the same idea of diplomacy as the British colonials have had for 500 years. The French were once the maximum exponents of diplomacy and had an expression for the anglos that resounded around the world, “Perfide Albion”.

Turkey definitely wants to join BRICS to become prosperous. Turkey is a Muslim country. At present, the Turkish Foreign Minister and his delegation are in Urumqi, the provincial capital of Xin Jiang, the Chinese province which the West has accused China, without providing evidence, of committing genocide (whilst the ethnic minority population is growing) and forced labour (where many processes are mechanised) and no freedom (people can travel abroad if they like, as there is an international airport there).
The Turkish delegation will be visiting the second largest city Kashgar and other places in Xin Jiang on a three-day visit.
In Chinese media, the Chinese say that Western accusation of China committing genocide in Xin Jiang has quietened down recently when the world is witnessing real genocide committed by Israel which many Western countries are defending. This is the so-called Rules Based International Order, which is not written, but the rules are changed by the Americans any day they want.

I am listening to this while also watching the D day tribute to the fallen on the TV. Very moving but the West has got a very selective memory that forgets the sacrifice that the Russians made so that a very weakened Germany were unable to withstand the advance of the Western Forces. It was very fortunate that Hitler ignored the advice of one of greatest Field Marshals, Rommel, that the attack would come on the Normandy beaches. We have forgotten the lessons of history. It was the Ukrainian SS Waffen, the Galizia division, that fought with the Nazis against the Russians!!!!and here we are today supporting their descendants (the Azov Brigade) against the Russians.

A very weakened Germany... so explain how this weakened Germany was able to still fight on for almost an entire year after D-Day and inflict over a million causilites on the USSR during this time frame?
Also there where more than just a single SS division made up of former USSR soldiers fighting with the German's. Germany recruited an entire army of around 200,000 men from the POW camps to fight with them.

    • @DavidJones-gr1fb
      @DavidJones-gr1fb 27 дней назад +2

@@Jamicaman516 The attacks on Russia involved the largest offence in human history with Barbarossa in 1941 followed by smaller but still large scale offences with Caseblue in 1942 and Citadel in 1943. With over 10 million combatants and 8 million casualties these offenses ripped the guts out of the Nazi army. You make the point correctly that it still took over a year to finally defeat the Nazis. The civil war in Ukraine which is now a full scale war with Russia is a war of attrition and very similar to the operations in WW2, ie a war of attrition. Russia simple wore the Nazis down until they no longer could continue and had to retreat back to defend Germany with what was left of their Eastern army.
Yes you are correct that the Nazis recruited forces from the countries they occupied to fight alongside and this included Pows. I was just underlining that in the case of Ukraine that one of the forces that fought against the Russians were the Ukrainian Nationalists who thought that once the war was over and the Nazis won they would be allowed to form their own independant nation of Ukraine. I doubt this would have happened anyway if the Nazis had been victorious as the Nazi indoctrination had imparted the idea that all Slavs were subhuman and were either to be killed or enslaved.

Agree you can't really trust Turkey and especially you can never trust that twofaced reptile Erdogan (with apologies to all actual reptiles).
Though Erdogan will be gone relatively soon and we'll see what happens then.
The vast, overwhelming majority of Turks are totally anti West and anti US, as well as pro BRICS, even while being fed up with Erdogan and his blatant corruption, his shortsighted, selfserving opportunism and incompetence in handling the economy.
What the people want might, as in all NATO and NATO adjacent countries, unfortunately not count for much and there of course are sections of the turkish "elites" that are strongly pro western, but plenty of others are not and indeed far more firmly and reliably pro East than Erdogan ever was.
So we'll see but I do think there is a growing recognition that all the real, longterm economic opportunities lie eastward and that the West has nothing to offer.
The US increasingly arming Greece and nudging it towards conflict with Turkey almost certainly contributed to what conceivably could turn out to be a tipping point towards BRICS.
Concerning Erdogan, for as long as he is still around, the one thing he can be relied upon to be is treacherous to everyone, including very much the West.
Ultimately If anything I'd say he personally dislikes the West much more, after all they tried to overthrow and assassinate him more than once, plus they and Israel have many times arranged for bloody terrorist attacks in Turkey, supporting the Kurds, who Erdogan probably sees as his most hated enemies.
So while he has repeatedly sided with the West when he saw a temporary advantage for himself and also to demonstrate his "independence" from Russia too and that he is his own, not Putin's man, I also wouldn't be exactly surprised if knowing that his time in power is drawing to a close he would use that time to set his country more firmly on an eastward course as a huge, final "Fuck You!!" to the US and EU.
A form of revenge even though incidentally it would of course also be the right thing to do economically speaking.

This cavalier attitude toward nuclear brinkmanship that empire managers have been demonstrating lately was addressed on Monday by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, who said the US is close to making a “fatal” miscalculation.
“I would like to caution American officials against miscalculations which may have fatal consequences. For some unknown reason, they underestimate the seriousness of the rebuff they may receive,” Ryabkov reportedly said.
There is a limit to how many escalations Russia will tolerate before taking drastic action against NATO to re-establish deterrence credibility, and nobody really knows exactly where that limit is. They seem bound and determined to find it however, and when they do we may already be on an irreversible free fall toward nuclear armageddon.
And that’s why it’s very disturbing that these tensions are being ramped up so casually by the empire with no resistance from anybody - not from western governments, not from the media, and not even from ordinary people in any meaningful numbers.
These freaks are playing chicken with armageddon weapons, and nobody’s got a foot anywhere near the brake pedal. They’re not even looking at it. They’re not even thinking about it.
At the very least we’ve got to find some way to get people thinking about this. This would be such a damn stupid way for humanity to annihilate itself. - LewRockwell

"This cavalier attitude toward nuclear brinkmanship that empire managers" hahahah Who is making nuclear threats on at least a weekly basis sometimes combined with nuclear "drills". That would be Putin and other Russian officials. Its reached the point where no one knows where the "brink" is...Maybe you could point to Western officials who made similar threats & conducted similar actions (except you can't find any)..

Er!! The thinking in your head about what Putin should or should not do meshes totally with the White policy makers in Europe especially, where, based on arrogance of being White, anything, I mean anything you myopia recognises must be right, and ergo must be true!!
Nothing, absolutely nothing, someone else thinks or seeks to do has to be ineffective, if not wrong as it doesn't match the White European playbook!!
Tell you what is one of the main things Putin has achieved as a byproduct of his foray in Ukraine, and that is to expose to all the rest of the entire world is the hypocrisy, immorality, theft, mendacity, of the Western States!!
Most importantly, after this foray in Ukraine, never, ever, anywhere on this planet will the White Western world be able to even suggest any single their " version" of how that country, can, should implement " western" democracy!!
That's been the greatest failure of Western powers in Ukraine, the biggest example being solidifying the relationship of Russia and China for all time!!
This was/ is the outcome of the arrogance, nay, stupidity of White Western politicians, boosted by idiots as yourself that places you as the font of all knowledge, not through education, rather by virtue of a White skin!! Knowledge skin deep!! Imagine!!!!!!!!

After all he if can't defeat Ukraine after 2 + years Imagine what just the NATO air forces could do to his forces just on the battlefront. At minimum they would lose air superiority and be unable to advance anymore. UA ground troops would have NATO aircraft right behind them to provide direct support in their attacks...directed by US/UK/Polish/French Special Forces.

Inspired, the general recalled that the Americans had killed "many" (about a million people, in fact) in Mosul, Iraq. 12 thousand French. 69 Japanese cities were destroyed, not including Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
"We were killing people in huge numbers, innocent people who had nothing to do with their government, men, women and children."
He said this to justify Israel's crimes, but in the process admitted to American war crimes.

Appalling discussion on Turkey. To take any statement by Erdogan half way seriously and to build a fantastic scenario on this is not serious and more like click bait. For what it's worth, and a point Alexander seems oblivious of despite 'being in this part of the world', is that over the recent period (six months perhaps), Putin has kept distance from Turkey, a dramatic move from his being continuously played by Erdogan. In last month or so Turkey has made statements (and not made statements) that indicate a recognition of having gone too far and being isolated by both Russia and US, and are defintiely meant to woo Russia. Also, note Peskov's statement that Turkey is welcome but there are a lot of countries waiting to join BRICS. Sorry to be harsh but given importance of Turkey, it would be good if Duran had a discussin with an expert on Turkey.

Hence, you can just hear the explanation from the NorthWest military that bringing untrained Ukrainian troops to the front line encourages their focus and offers a much more realistic training environment! The hideous losses are discounted because they are not American or British, so from a NorthWest perspective what's the problem, Alexander? We must have a chat sometime about this dreadful political and cultural phenomenon!
