Compared to other Sampled Instruments and Pianos from Native Instruments this one doesn't actually take up much space at all, and doesn't hog the CPU either, if you're really serious about becoming a producer then this is really a great investment. Good luck with the music!
Really appreciate the video, new plug ins are kinda scary when your new to this and seeing the prices make it overwhelming. Though seeing someone review it like this helps a lot in choosing the right ones, I will definitely save up for The Giant, its exactly what I need. Thank you so much
Ha! I've had this for a few months now and didn't realize there was a "Cinematic" version. I thought there was more to it! I'll more than likely be using a ton of those cool effects for atmospheric backgrounds. Thanks for the enlightenment!
I guess it really depends on what you're looking for, it's a bit more airy/ambient than a traditional piano imo but it can work in many different styles
never tried it without a pedal, I don't see anything in the front pedal that would allow it, maybe trying to assign it to your modwheel instead of the pedal?
Hey !! Here is a problem i am facing , can you help ? When i am increasing the amount of SPACE or reverb i am getting a very weird and rough sounding result which is totally unexceptionable. how to solve this issue ? thanks
It is a nice piano to have, and I have certainly come up with some beautiful songs, however I feel that the tone gets old. Theres something missing. Even on long decay, the keys disappear to quickly after touching. Maybe I need to tweak it more.
not sure what you mean it failed, it's just a process of running the installer there's nothing special you need to do, maybe the download got corrupted?
2 pianos in a row Joe, virtual vst stalker fam lol!! Cinema part of this plug almost like Soniccouture but not quite Couture specialize in experimental. Interesting that Galaxy x partnered though they have some nice stuff too.
This isn't in the same league as the soniccouture pianos imo, their xtended piano is just amazing. I wouldn't compare this to broken wurli or ep73 as those are ep libraries. I like the tone a bit better than alicia's keys though, but at the time AK came out it was just way better than anything NI had done up to that point. This isn't a "must have" in my opinion, but it's a nice library that I find useful specifically as a softer piano as well as a sound design tool.
Thanks for ur reply bro, the problem I got is it downloads good but when I click the app to open it, it starts again like im installing it again it's very confusing and its supposed to let me put my serial number but its not I know its hard to get what im saying I cant really explain it but thank s for ur reply man
Just a bit aside of subject - why did they build it this way the keyboard is on the top of instrument and you have to climb scaffolding - wouldn't be easier to rotate string part 180 degree and have keyboard accessible from 'normal' level ?
Does anyone else have problems with automated velocity when playing (and playback of recorded MIDI input)? Well to be more clear (using my simplified English, being from Denmark, sorry): Using a M-Audio Key Rig 49 the "pitch bend wheel" is used by my DAW and GIANT as a volume controller. When recording/playing back my music, the master volume control seen in the GIANT interface bounces up and down. Works like a compressor I guess. The first hit of a key is at 100% velocity, then it drops to around 50% when I continue playing. A break in the music will make it go to 100% again, and so on. HELP PLEASE! Is there any setting I need to do here?
I don't know, could be some audio settings. I don't know what "terrible" means exactly and I'm not an FL user so I'd suggest checking your audio settings to make sure they are at the optimal configuration.
Like any other plugin, you install the VST version (which will install to C:\Program Files\Vstplugins if i remember correclty) and have FL Studio scan for new plugins. Make sure it's checked off in the list and you'll be able to load it in any channel and control via midi.
because it's an emulation of the biggest piano in the world. for more infos visit the official website: native-instruments . com/#/en/products/producer/powered-by-kontakt/the-giant/
Years later...Melodyne 4 can alter any piano effects-wise, to go beyond what this instrument can do. Convo-reverb is now easy to attain and apply in any DAW. I think the Ivory pianos and even EW pianos along with today's effects are much better sounding than this....that's just my experience.
+TheChosenOne Cool, thanks for the comment! This is an actual instrument, like in real life this thing actually exists lol. So it's unique in that aspect I suppose. There are always multiple ways to achieve different sounds, it's just a matter of preference and how much an individual want's the tweak themselves.
I agree. In my opinion great software like this does not become obsolete simply because similar technology is showing up. Great non biased review and a truly unique sound.
its a really good sound. Incredible sound.
Glad to help, thanks for watching!@Joey Guerrero
cool man, that's what I aim to do! Glad you dig it, thanks for the comment!
Thanks for posting this, it persuaded me to get it. Half price at the moment. Some of the sounds you can achieve with the cinematic piano are epic.
yeah, it's pretty cool, like the way you can tweak the piano to sound totally different
how does it compare to the Alecia keys kontakt

no problem, thanks for watching!

solrepublican25 ___ Which piano do you have? I own a Yamaha YDP 163, thinking of getting the giant.
Ha! I've had this for a few months now and didn't realize there was a "Cinematic" version. I thought there was more to it! I'll more than likely be using a ton of those cool effects for atmospheric backgrounds. Thanks for the enlightenment!
Yeah the sound design stuff is really cool man :)
nice review st joe! Did you also tested the galaxy series?
I guess it really depends on what you're looking for, it's a bit more airy/ambient than a traditional piano imo but it can work in many different styles
Nice review! i wonder how much memory the plugin is using on your computer.....?
is it possible to load samples into the giant.. it would be cool to get some of those effects and noises onto on to other sounds
it's downloading now...used a $30 voucher. gonna use it for cinema as well as pop piano but it does have a concert sound to it.
never tried it without a pedal, I don't see anything in the front pedal that would allow it, maybe trying to assign it to your modwheel instead of the pedal?
you may want to look into Ivory or Pianoteq
sounds amazing, get it you'll not be disappointed, way better than NI's other sampled pianos
cool, thanks for the comment
hey i was wondering, how to you adjust the piano release to always be on without a pedal plugged in?
@ninjarap1 yeah it has a cool character to it
Sounds really good. Cheers from Brazil.
sounds lovely man
Very good demo!! GJ!
once you download it, you have to actually run the installer first before you can activate it in Kontakt
Hey wazzup saint joe sound and gear . com
Today checking out the giant from...
Up until that point i thought you were rapping xD
+Edvard Bolaas Hahaha lol
Thanks for the video. I am looking for an awesome, realistic grand piano for live performances. Would this one work? Thanks again, bro!

TastesChickenLike Glad to help fam.

Thanks for the great review!
Thanks for watching!
hey man can u do a demo of the blofeld? let us know what its like?
Hey !! Here is a problem i am facing , can you help ?
When i am increasing the amount of SPACE or reverb i am getting a very weird and rough sounding result which is totally unexceptionable. how to solve this issue ?
thanks
Most likely it's the cpu spiking as reverb requires a lot of processing.
any possible solution ? i have a better CPU 8 Core Processor
Adjust the latency/buffer on your audio interface.
I will eventually
word man, it's a nice product for sure
yes it will
It is a nice piano to have, and I have certainly come up with some beautiful songs, however I feel that the tone gets old. Theres something missing. Even on long decay, the keys disappear to quickly after touching. Maybe I need to tweak it more.
are you kidding i was in love with scully lol!! everything Sci-fi is me goes well with the love of cinematic sounds haha!
not sure what you mean it failed, it's just a process of running the installer there's nothing special you need to do, maybe the download got corrupted?
nice, thanks for the comment
just bought it...now we wait for the ff'n serial!
I would contact NI, maybe you have a faulty disc?
thanks for watching
2 pianos in a row Joe, virtual vst stalker fam lol!! Cinema part of this plug almost like Soniccouture but not quite Couture specialize in experimental. Interesting that Galaxy x partnered though they have some nice stuff too.
3:00 is that a song? Would love to know the name if it is
+Tubby Custard Not that I know of.
how do i install it i downloded it but failed to install it onto my pc please help stressed out??????
So u can pnly play with Piano keys? not with pc keyboard ?
Depends on what daw you're using.
@Adam House nice!
Hahaha, no doubt man, glad to help
@VEVOtophits Thanks for watching no I haven't checked those or yet
@MG The Future yeah just depends on what you're looking for
what do you use then as your main piano?
This isn't in the same league as the soniccouture pianos imo, their xtended piano is just amazing. I wouldn't compare this to broken wurli or ep73 as those are ep libraries. man I used to love that show! lol
Thanks
Thanks for watching
the interface looks dope
Thanks for watching
it's actually not using much memory as it uses direct from disk streaming
I've got this problem that the NKI files are corrputed...
Is it possible to download the NKI files somewhere? :O
it's not too huge space wise, around 3gb or so
because it's based off of a huge 12ft upright piano that's built into a wall
Thanks for ur reply bro, the problem I got is it downloads good but when I click the app to open it, it starts again like im installing it again it's very confusing and its supposed to let me put my serial number but its not I know its hard to get what im saying I cant really explain it but thank s for ur reply man
sounds so good!!!!
thanks for watching
that's got a nice sound
Just a bit aside of subject - why did they build it this way the keyboard is on the top of instrument and you have to climb scaffolding - wouldn't be easier to rotate string part 180 degree and have keyboard accessible from 'normal' level ?
+Matthew Legowicz I have no clue lol
wouldn't be as cool :D
also my guess is, like with a guitar, where you strike the string matters to the timbre.
you load this into a daw and route midi to it

can't say I've run into that, are you running all of the updates?
Wats good homie so my maschine software is not loading up I'm using a MAC please help FYI it crashes
Did you make any changes to it? Try installing the most recent version you installed again to see if it fixes your install.
do you need kontack 5 to use the giant?
Yeah, it's a kontakt library. Works in Kontakt player.
I personally wouldn't use it as my main piano but it's cool
Hello, how can I add a pitch bend effect to this piano ?
You can do it from your controller.
No it doesn't work.
Not sure then, maybe something in the programming that doesn't allow it
I know I'm late but why does everything sound terrible on my fl12
I don't know, could be some audio settings. I don't know what "terrible" means exactly and I'm not an FL user so I'd suggest checking your audio settings to make sure they are at the optimal configuration.
thanks for watching!
you should be able to re-download them from NI
Yeah it's pretty cool @stb
How do you get this for example into fl studio?
Thanks for answer

zlistcelebrity Thanks for the answer!
Cheers!
I feel you fam
is it better than piano in blue?
I think piano in blue is meant more as a traditional piano, this is more for sound design in my opinion.
thanks
4:04
sounds smack like minecraft
chris beyer Thanks for watching.
Can i auto mate the pedal ?
You should be able to, but I haven't tried it.
Especially since this is an Upright Piano by nature.
alot of times I'll use something like Pianoteq
nice man!
So once I buy this, I have it for a lifetime? sorry for the stupid question :)
Yes, it is a one time purchase
nice deal!
it is nice piano
thanks for watching
I think I need this one...lol
because it's an emulation of the biggest piano in the world.
