Beautiful work! 💖💖💖💖💖 I have several shirts I'll be adding a cap sleeve to. Thanks again. This video is detailed. Keep up the excellent work! 💃💃💃💖💖💖💖💖🎉
Thank you so much! It looks so MUCH better with cap sleeves and the new length is just perfect! You can't imagine how handy this tutorial is for me, bcs I often find sleeveless dresses on sale that I don't buy (I don't wear sleeves garments where I live). Not any more!
Beautiful love how ur dress 👗 turn out and u look beautiful 😍. I don’t like dresses that don’t have sleeves because I go to church also and very conservative. Always look for a way to do a simple sleeve thank u now I will always refer to ur video. Thank u so much 😊 God bless
I get most everything at thrift stores which helps alleviate the deep breath before cutting. Thanks for the help. I don’t mind sleeveless but it makes some things look much better to have a cap sleeve. You look fabulous in your dress. ❤
Great idea... lovely dress and nice photos with your hubby. I was searching for a simple sleeve finish when I realized I was a little 'shy' on fabric. The armhole appears to be somewhat larger than I want for a sleeveless version so will attempt to modify and apply a cap sleeve. Wish me luck.
Thanks for the tutorial. It would be nice to have a tutorial on a bolero jacket. In case you don't want to turn the dress to a dress with sleeves. Love the dress😍😍
@@TheSewingChannel I'm so glad you showed step by step because for some reason I kept wanting to sew the straight lined edge along the inside arm hole. I just couldn't figure it out until I saw you do it. Thank you so much.
Thank you! This is exactly what I needed to watch. I've just bought a sleeveless jersey dress and it really needs some kind of sleeve. Your dress looks SO much better with cap sleeves, and hopefully, so will mine... :)
Terrific 😍👍🏼! I too want to learn to do this. I have lots of church dresses 👗 that need sleeves. I live in Hot Texas and I get tired of pairing up my dresses with a denim jacket. I have a sewing machine but have only very basic understanding. Your formula looks great but it scared me a little. Will try with an old dress first.
Don’t let it intimidate you. Definitely practice first. Once you learn this method then you will be able to add the simple cap sleeves to any item...🤓✅✂️let me know if you have questions 😊
I’m loving on your scissors! Is there a place where I can get me a pair? Or can you recommend to me something similar? They seem as though they can help keep your hands from getting tired w/cutting a lot of fabric all @ once.
Yes you’re absolutely right. That was one of the first videos I ever made… I had no idea the ins and outs of RUclips at the time of filming. I will put that on my list as a remake.🤓 thanks for the feedback. I really do appreciate it.✅
Adore the dress, amazing colors, Tracey you look like an angel and hubby, hubba bubba
That's such a pretty dress! You look like a Barbie doll!

Great job. Thank you for sharing. Dress looks so much better after your alterations. I am going to try this.

Love the dress😍😍
Oh, wow!It changes the dress. The dress looks elegant, now. I will be using this in the future. Thank you !
You’re welcome. And it’s not hard to do because you don’t have to “fit” it in under the arms. ✅🤓✂️

It will look great !🤓
Thank you! Cap sleeves and pockets are what I look for in dresses. Now I can add my own!!
Yes! I add them all the time! After you do it a couple of times you will be a pro at it!✅👍
Wow! That turned out so nice!! Great tutorial. 😊
Thank you so mush! Great tutorial!
You’re welcome!
Thank you for this detailed tutorial. Much appreciated.

Hi! I'd like to add a cap sleeve to a girls dress. I'm a beginner so I'm wondering if I can use the same formula for a kids dress?
Yes you can!
Trust me. ...everyone watching this is watching cause we're terrified of cutting 😅😂
Thank you very much it was easy to follow. Will try it on my top. 🙏
Thanks a lot!!!
You're welcome!
did you sew the cap sleeve on the inside or outside? can you show close up picture please.
I tucked the cap sleeve underneath the shoulder part of the sleeve✅
Hi. I can relate to what you said as I also get nervous everytime I make the cutting, thinking if I've done the accurate measurements or not.
No matter how confident I get in sewing I am always afraid to make the first cut lol glad to see others are that way as well👍✅✂️🤓
Is it possible to go beyond the 1/3 measurement for the cap sleeve height if i want it a little longer?
I think so..... if you make it more then you may have problem lifting your arms. Try a mock up first✅
@@TheSewingChannel i had that problem!!😭 is there any way i can make it longer than the 1/3?
Where did you buy the dress? Do you sew for other people as well?
*_I purchased the dress at a Dillards outlet✅ No I don't sew for people✅ Thanks for watching💛_*
@narip, find another channel. We love Tracey and her teaching style which means there is one of you and 40,000 of us and you lose, you leave. Bye.
liked it better on you without the sleeves, sorry
Don’t be sorry ✅
Please edit your video. It must be short and up to the point

@@TheSewingChannel I like this video just as it is, some of us need it slow and careful
Thank you for the kind feedback💛💜
@@TheSewingChannel amazing video and never too long! We love you just the way you are.
