Cannot believe what I viewed, so nicely presented, and which sounded so sweet. ~ Skilled hands playing lovely tune! Musical piece entirely produced from play of the Kalimba? - Remarkable, if so. Good success, you obviously practiced to master this featured musical ability. I enjoyed the demonstrated performance!
This was wonderful! Just been going through your videos today. I can't believe you don't have more subs?! You are very talented! I see you own a wide range of Kalimbas. Can I ask which one is your favorite? I recently bought a Gecko one from Amazon, but you have such a wide range of interesting ones with much higher quality sound ( it could also be my bad playing ha ha). Do you have a favorite you would rceommend? Keep up the wonderful work!
Hello and thank you for your kind words. I have a difficult life situation atm, i had to leave my country and I left almost all my stuff at home, that was a big stress for me to choose, what kalimba to take :) I chose this one (seeds), Hluru with a whale, as the most beautiful one, and the last moment my acrylic Purm, not because of it's sound, but because i like how it looks in the videos. I had a 21-key hluru that i didn't show in the videos yet (was going to), but it was too big and heavy, i couldn't take it. I don't have a computer anyway and i can't make videos atm :( I would recommend you seeds as the most relevant variant and I would highly recommend to try to find a place, where you can buy kalimbas offline. I went to another city to buy this seeds, for example. You have to listen to the sound, almost all my offline purchases were a disappointment. And i had in my hands several Gecko kalimbas, I didn't like the sound at all. But many people play Gecko kalimbas, I think this depends on individual preferences :) I wish you luck with your purchases and patience in your practice :)
@@KalimbaLimba Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. That makes sense! Being able to try a kalimba out before buying would be great. The dead tines at the end of my gecko hollow board bother me somewhat. I was also looking at those chromatic kalimbas because it would be great to have more notes and not retune things to play a song. And I am so sorry you are in such a difficult situation right now! I left my country a few years ago with one suitcase, a backpack, and a handbag, because it would have been more difficult to try and take everything and too expensive to post things out/bring extra, so I can relate to having to just choose a few things from. That was by choice, though. I do hope you weren't forced to leave your country 😢 I hope things get better and you are settling in your new place. Take care and thank you for sharing your talent with us! We look forward to whenever you next get the chance to upload again. Until then, please take care!
Thank you for your support! I don't like tuning too, that's the reason i make all my covers in C 😆 you can choose any song you like here and play it w/o tuning, I hope your gecko is in C, it is a standart, but lingting kalimbas are in B for example >.>
@@KalimbaLimba Hello! I see your name is Alena... may I ask, is Ukraine the country you had to leave? I applaud you for sharing such beautiful music under difficult circumstances. I saw one of your videos a year or so ago, and it inspired me to buy a kalimba not only for myself but for one of my daughters and another friend. (My father was born in a village in Czechoslovakia, which is now in Ukraine, because of changes in boundaries... that's why I asked.) Regardless... THANK YOU for bringing us such lovely music and inspiring us to play it ourselves! Best to you always.
Hello! No, I'm not from Ukraine, but thank you for your attention, sensitivity, and support anyway. I really appreciate it. And I'm really glad that you and your daughter have joined the kalimba lovers club, because this musical instrument is definitely worth it, and I'm happy to be a part of this :)
