This upgrade to the popular 9106 includes new features making it more durable than the original. *Find it here* goo.gl/XnDoZt Gearbest mid year flash sales here goo.gl/aQRoGt It's still a large and powerful hobby grade brushless RC monster truck that is tons of fun to drive. Highly dirt and water resistant, it loves kicking up dirt. Pros - Large 1/10 scale 4WD car/monster truck. I think this size is best for outdoor fun. Large tires and wide wheel track make this hard to roll over. - Excellent independent oil dampened suspension system. Really absorbs the bumps in high speed driving. - 3660 3500KV waterproof brushless motor. - Larger 60A fan cooled ESC (vs 45A original 9106). - Large 7.4V 2400mAh battery. - Enclosed chassis providing splashproof protection of electronics and drive components (original 9106 had exposed components). - Redesigned/reinforced suspension system with metal bracings and linkages (plastic on original 9106). - Steel spur (plastic spur original 9106) and pinion gear. - All metal under carriage plate (original 9106 no protection plate, and motor was exposed in the belly making it impact vulnerable). - Wheelie wheels on the back (no wheelie wheels original 9106). - 60km/h predicted top speed (45km/h original 9106). Cons - Advertised as waterproof. A better term would be splash proof, meaning you can send it through puddles, but don't try turning it into a submarine. - A little bit more expensive than original 9106. But the upgrades may be worth the extra cost.
2400 mah is actually really small and weighs nothing. It is just in a big hardpack case. When I compare the weight with my 5000 mah 2s with the 2400 mah pack it is a huge difference.
I subbed your channel a while back because I like your reviews. You get excited like me, LOL. I have the original 9106 and even though I broke it, I like it a lot. Planning upgrades. I ordered this 9106S also to run "as is" should arrive this week. $20 difference with those upgrades? It was worth the purchase. thanks...
I want to buy this, but it seems there one major difference. 10427s has 20-30 working time. 9106s has only 10-15 working time. is that true? which one do you recommend?
They both have the same 7.4V 2400mah LiPo battery. But the 9106S has a more powerful motor and ESC. It can accelerate and go faster than the 10427S. But that acceleration and speed comes at a cost of slightly reduced drive time when compared to the 10427S. Also the predicted 30 minutes drive time for the 10427S sounds more realistic for the brushed motor version.
lifehackertips ..it's mostly for STEERING... If you punch it on 2wd..it'll slide out from under...in other words spin out.. Over power toys dose that :-P
@@lifehackertips I got the 9106 (old version) for only $120 total to my front door. I just installed a 60A esc so i can run 3s in it. I dont like the center stiffen ( not a big deal) Other than that it's still stock. It dose fine, I dont break my toys for click baits. The 9106S is an up grade with bigger esc and motor...metal chassis. The 9106 is inexpensive for a hobbie grade 1/10 r/c. I have 2-ea T maxx..but they;re beef up to handle 4076 2250KV on 4S. The T maxx is a bigger or near 1/8 size My MGT 4.6 is even bigger...I dont care what brand they are...Difinitely BRUSHLESS on all my conversion.. You can make them as fast or as strong as you want...i keep my toys around 45-60 mph range..All my r/c trucks and buggies are 4x4..why get a 2wd out of the box when you can get 4x4 out of the box???? It takes a college degree to remove the center drive shaft?? lmao Definitely dont want to get hit by a 8-12 lb contraption doing over 40 mph With that said....im building 1/7 speed run.lmao
@@lifehackertips it's one of the truck I was looking at or the next truck i was going to get.lmao.....but I got side tracked..with the MGT 4.6 and TNX terra crusher ( I like those sort of higher chassis MT designs) I did manage to get KingMotor expolorer 2..it's a extended 1/8 to 14.75 wheel bass..with 4 mm chassis...it's better than the HPI ( same design) It has adjustable suspensions...ect....I install 30mm hub extensions..and the Shredders wheels and tires on it.lol It'll pop wheelies on 4s..do over 50 mph....It sounds scarry on pavement ( tire sounds) doing 50mph ish. coming towards me. I know it;s more than 12 lb.lmao
Congratulations. You were actually the first. Gihan had already won a previous shouout. As such, you win a shoutout in a future QC101 video. Again, congratulations!
Do not purchase this piece of junk. Here is a list of problems. I have never been able to run more than a time or two without repairing. Pinion gear shredded twice. ESC burst into flames, Wheelie bars are totally useless. diffs grind and required disassembly, Cleaning to remove metal shavings and adding 30000 weight oil to quiet them down and make them run smoother. Tires blew off the rims and had to be replaced. I own an Arma 4s truck that has had zero issues after much bashing. This truck is cheap and will break if You decide to actually run it.

Fantastic review and really enjoyed your video,it made me smile, great truck. 👍😊👍😊👍😊
Great review thanks for posting I'm getting one of these for sure
You did a review if the syma x8g in 2015. Can you do a video comparing how that drone compares with drones of today?
Hey Q, is that a keeper or what ? I think so !! You were having a lot of fun !! I was having fun watching you ! Pretty good truck for the price.

FlatRabbit did it break easily or was it ur fault entirely?
How long the battery lasts?

How's your day going
how it this compared to a stampede?
Do the excavator next. I think I might get that for fathers day. But only if you do a review
whats the max speed on 2s??
Cool.!!!
I would prefer a brushed stampede 2wd for the same price.
lol why? brushless 4wd >>>> brushed 2wd every time
