Now some challenges for anyone daring enough to try:
    1. Build a rudimentary drum kit using the scale separation feature for the different channels. That gets into noise and filters a bit more in addition to the other setup stuff.
    2. Get close to making an actual piano (not "synth piano") sound with how it can generate harmonic sounds. Also try to see if you can emulate the strings per-note of a real piano with the voice channels.
Didn't say those would be easy, but I suspect ZynAddSufFX is capable of both.
Extra challenge would be to make a video explaining either process and still have it make sense and not put anyone to sleep.

@@benshipleymusic I think I managed to kind of get close to a piano sound, but explaining it is another thing: drive.google.com/file/d/1lQHyMunCfsxN9s4CDe4YANgTCb7VUx6Y/view?usp=sharing
Not sure how to save it properly as a ZASFx preset (I think that involves the "kit"?), so it's an .xpf for the LMMS preset.

If I want to learn more about what all the sound knobs do, the workings behind Hz, filters, etc; from the bottom up, where would I study it? I'll even consider paid sources, but wish to exhaust whatever free material is available online. If you can share your findings, it would be very helpful. Thanks

    • @benshipleymusic
