To help with vibrancy, I’d do regular icing then freeze and solidify the cake. Then take the luster dust and either mix with food grade alcohol or just dust it on. As far as brands of dust, I’m not sure but technique, that’s what I’d do lol
When I was doing my baking professionally, I would buy gold, bronze and silver luster dusts, and use ONE of them to and put a little in a tiny bowl and add about 1/2 capful of vodka. Add more luster dust for more vibrancy. I would paint it wherever it was needed. Within about a minute, it would dry, the vodka would evaporate. This is also when it’s no longer “alcoholic”.
@pamthompson2978 Unfortunately, alcohol doesn't evaporate completely. That's something to keep in mind if you're baking for someone who absolutely cannot have alcohol

The best way to get sparklier writing is to dust your icing bag with lustre dust and then fill with regular icing. It comes out great! Mixing lustre dust into the icing dulls the sparkle
So do you not mix any luster dust into the icing at all? You only have it coat the piping bag? I've never tried that technique, but I'm absolutely going to try!

You can also do this with coconut oil if you want to not use alcohol! ^ 🫶🏽
