To me, wrestling fans are like people who could go to a magic show, know everything about the tricks, know exactly when the guy is palming, and still enjoy the show because they appreciate what it took to pull off the illusion

Thanks for addressing this bro!!! As a fellow WWE fan, I’ve dealt with this before and it’s always super annoying. Yes, I get WWE is scripted and the outcome of every match is predetermined, and sure, all the wrestlers might throw open fist punches and whatnot, but everything else is 100% real. There’s no faking the pain of pro wrestling, especially when the wrestlers get legit injured and put on the shelf for a certain period of time. It’s obviously evident that people who call WWE and / or Pro Wrestling as a whole “fake” clearly aren’t fans. Telling a wrestling fan that wrestling is fake is one thing, but saying it to an actual wrestler is another. 🤦♂️

To be fair, AEW is dying, and it never really took off to begin with. I wish there were real competition for WWE that I actually want to watch, but there just isn't, and I can't even be mad at someone who doesn't know AEW exists. I wish I hadn't tried to watch it.

My dad took me to Madison Square Garden to watch my first WWF event. And I thought Hulk Hogan was a superhero, and I thought these guys were really trying to kill each other and I loved it. Then you grow up and realize it’s a work and that these guys really aren’t trying to kill each other and then you love it for another reason. Every match should end with both wrestlers going to the hospital. But they don’t and that’s a testament to how talented these athletes are.

As an indie pro wrestler, I just wanted these people to try to wrestle a 15 minutes match.
Yes it is not real fighting, yes it is somewhat scripted. It still hurts, it still requires physical conditioning, and yet these people who get out of breath running across the street think they have any idea what they're talking about.
And i always had that thought inside of me of wanting to become a pro wrestler but i always feared not to do it because Jeff Hardy always risking his life jumping off ladders and other wrestlers risking it in different ways.

The timing of this video is uncanny. I had a similar conversation just yesterday. You bring up a valid point about how intense certain fanbases can get when they disagree with the writers. For instance, I remember talking to someone before the release of Gotham Knights. During a time when there was no news about the game, the person suggested that we should send death threats to the developers to pressure them into sharing more information about the game.

So these clowns are mindblown by movie stunts where most actors use a stunt double, have props to help and get numerous takes and editing to help them out but somehow they think poorly of wrestlers who put their bodies on the line LIVE with no assistance and one botch could seriously injure you or best case scenario, completely embarass you.
One of the few movies I praise that didn't really use stunt doubles and used legit martial artist was "the raid"

People in WWE don’t get multiple takes and perform their own stunts and have to emote while performing stunts. No other actors are working harder than pro wrestlers.

As a fan of wrestling for over 20 years, you hit the nail on the head. I have been saying this for years and so tired of people questioning that an adult would watch it or saying it is fake, it is scripted, not fake, there is a difference. These guys unlike actors in Hollywood, put their bodies on the line and put themselves at risk of injury and often work hurt. How many Hollywood stars do any of that? Or act all year round? Wrestling is like Hollywood but way more extreme. So to think that it is ok to watch movies and tv, but not wrestling, that is because first off they do not understand it and second they are a judgemental a-holes that think they know something when in reality they have no clue at all and are just mean haters.
