I used to go through one pair of van a month, i was really stubborn I really tried to make them work. I tried to avoid going to Stefans shoes. Then vans stopped making the shoes i like skating and i had no choice left and just tried stefans shoes out. I quickly realised i waisted my time not skating in these shoes. These are the best shoes I’ve ever skated in 20 years. And i can make then last up to 6 months compare to 1 month with vans. Thank you Stefan. I wish i started skating these shoes ten years ago

i just called the skatepark of tampa shop and asked where can i find the original janoskis with the leather laces, the ones they made in 2009-2010, and the original black colorway. They said they have a few at the store and to call back in novemenber or december and they'll have more, hopefully for sale on their website, cuz i don't live anywhere near Tampa lol.
I still remember when the Janoski SB dropped. It was my favorite skate shoe of all time because I never liked big puffy skate shoes. The board feel it gave you was like no other. Watching this video and hearing him explain all this now years later is awesome.

Gotta respect the attitude of "I don't have shoe now and, if the shoe isn't like I want it to be, I will not have a shoe. Doesn't matter to me." I bet it's super easy to give in, when you're about to have something like your own shoe and the company might come up with something that just isn't you, but you can't help but thinking the possibility of dropping the deal, if you start to demand changes. And of course sometimes this ("oh, well, no shoe then") happens, probably way more than we ever will even know. Nice little documentary!
Stefan Janoski definitely revolutionized the skate shoe game. The Janoski is like a conundrum -- minimal yet extremely effective in terms of board feel. He's one of the few people to create a new classic, which is very hard to do.

I remember my first pair of Janoskis, my problem with skating up to that point was board feel, Im not that great of a skater but those shoes helped me tremendously when it came to simple flip tricks and control, I cant really skate other shoes now. maybe blazer lows but a good day skating starts when I put on my Janoskis.

And let me tell you something the best Nike SB shoes are the Koston one Hypervulc I can skate does shoes forever. The fit like a glove, super high cushioning, great board feel and the best of all the are so much classy than the Janoskis. The only thing right is that the Janoskis are for daily use, but not for skating.

yeah, Janoski shoes are great for casual wear but I can't wear them for skating. I find the width of the shoes to be too narrow. I don't experience the same issue with any other skate brand shoes, or any other Nike skate shoes.
Fucking 9 years.... wore them for years off and on skating, daily use. Finally after being way past break in period (leather was tough, as it should be) skated them hard. Still lasted several years. NikeSB are just corporate shills leveraging what's popular. When I was sponsored in the 90's you wouldn't be caught dead in Nike's. Chad Muska's Etnies were and still are the GOAT for skate shoes.
These are my favorite shoes, hands down. I didn’t know the story behind them, I didn’t even know they were a pro skater shoe, I just saw them in a Zumiez about 5 years ago and thought they looked good and they felt right on my feet. It’s cool to see these were a product of butting heads

NikeSB are just corporate shills leveraging what's popular. When I was sponsored in the 90's you wouldn't be caught dead in Nike's. Chad Muska's Etnies were and still are the GOAT for skate shoes.

These are my favorite shoes, hands down. I didn’t know the story behind them, I didn’t even know they were a pro skater shoe, I just saw them in a Zumiez about 5 years ago and thought they looked good and they felt right on my feet. It’s cool to see these were a product of butting heads
