I work security on the weekends. Had a guy once tweak out and start assaulting random people outside the bar i work. Got him down and went for this on instinct. Never wrestled just watch your vids to improve for MMA,Bjj thanks alot Gary!
Thanks for showing this. I always had trouble with this combo because I kept the tight arm bar when taking him over with the half. The way you show it it is OK to let the arm slip out a little to maintain chest-to-chest. Excellent quality, shown repeatedly from different angles. Appreciate it.
Wrestling is so legit, I'm a BJJ guy myself but I like to get on RUclips, learn stuff and then use it in sparring for BJJ and see what's up. It's really cool.
+ChamorruWarrior lol because of Cary Kolat I've been taking everyone down in my bjj gym each time we roll. Wrestling is an invaluable stand up weapon it does wonders.
Vincent Renardi Linaksana Sweet, man! I've been out of the game for a while due to some Jiu Jitsu related issues with my knee/calf. Been in kind of a dark place for a couple months but I finally forced my way into being able to see a sport therapist. Any prayers or good intentions you have for a random mat brother throw them my way. Keep taking them down, man! Train hard and stay injury free, brother!
Hey Coach... Have a question, do you have a Playlist of moves that are legal in High School? Would love to review them and see what I can add to the curriculum as I am a first year head coach.
Below is a link to our beginner's curriculum. We do teach the back arch because it is a basic skill in wrestling. A back arch is necessary for other technique besides throws. For example a back arch is necessary for a proper foot sweep. You arch to lift your opponent before the sweep. The back arch throw in folkstyle will usually cause the referee to call a penalty for slamming. www.kolat.com/uploads/3/0/2/9/30299091/kolat.com_4-6_year_curriculm.pdf
You can release the bar a little by slipping your arm out as you take him to his back and release it when he is on his back. You might need to do this to be able to turn him over if the bar is too tight.

you do not have too but if you want to you can
does it hurt the guy if you keep the arm bar?

This was my number one move to a pin! Either this or the Power Half! Love it.
👍
I got on top of a dude with a nelson but didn't know what to follow up with which costed me. Now I got a better idea. Thanks!
Half nelson is amazing for getting arm bars, minoru suzuki used it a lot during his mma carreer as a catch wrestler.
Glad you are able to find value in our channel!
Great sir

Ty
You're an alligator haha ,great video!
👌👌👌👍👍👍
Is that also a chicken wing half
Yes the bar arm is the same thing as a chicken wing.
Guru ji
do you have to let go of his arm when flipping over ?
You can release the bar a little by slipping your arm out as you take him to his back and release it when he is on his back. You might need to do this to be able to turn him over if the bar is too tight.
