Do you think this will be Max's last season in F1? 👀
No but extending the season and amount of races will mean drivers don’t compete for as long - to many sports governing bodies diluting the product by trying to make sure even more money by having more events
Hope so. Would save me some money buying F1TV. Plus GT3 is very exciting.
I do think it depends on how the racing will be and whether RB will be fighting for wins.
I do think it depends on how the racing will be and whether RB will be fighting for wins.
Ja als de auto hem te weinig plezier geeft
Me and my son got to meet Max at a karting event my son was in. Max was absolutely brilliant. He talked to my son with absolute respect and thoughtfulness. He was giving him tips on his driving. Absolute no ego on him at all.
Doe maar normaal is a Dutch saying meaning just act normal.. Max lives that
@annebokma4637 100%
Out of the car everything I see I like about him, he seems like a fine young man ... In the car however .. I don't like how he races ...
I wouldn't agree, he has a massive ego, like all greats have to have. He definitely thinks he is superior driver but he definitely doesn't think he is superior human being and that's a great combination
@MrTwoojStaryMate, he was great with me and my lad, no airs or graces with him. He stopped and chatted to my lad for about 10 mins, talking about his kart, race sims and even football because my lad had his Wrexham top on (We are born and bred from Wrexham). He happily posed for photos with us as well. So our time with him, he was also 2 time world champion at the time, he had no ego. Of course he has on the racetrack but wasn’t with us.
Max can be absolutely ruthless and a bully on track but he's actually a very down-to-earth genuine dude who is allergic to BS.
@Dostoyevskyesque Lando has entered the chat
@TheShadDrag if Lando and Max raced in the same car, it would be embarrassing for Lando
@spicyspicyhotif if if... lando is world champion
Everyone on top level is a 'bully'. The back markers as well but they get the underdog sympathy.
@WeZhira-i3qit's true. Lando is a pretty good driver and he had the fastest car by a long shot. Idk if you forgot but Max has 4 world championship titles. That's three more than Lando (I did the math for you)
"Who actually cares when you're sixty or seventy years old if you have won four titles or ten, because you are getting old and I prefer to spend that with my family". What a true Champion in life Max is! Maximum respect
When you achieved a lot in a young age and experienced burn out , anxiety, stress, and glory early in life, you'll just want to retire and live your life with ur love ones and live not worrying about anything.
Yes exactly family is more important than any trophies you win
It's also mental gymnastics, now that he knows he might not have a real shot at the title as apposed to previous years, he's suddenly acting like he doesn't care if he gets the title or not, you're being played by him!
anyone who is in f1 wants to win the title and nothing else, it's literally that simple, so him saying he doesn't care, is actually him being a little bit jealous of Lando :) it's all mental gymnastics
Thats the issue with champions getting younger and younger in sports, same with Alcaraz.
If youre winning so much too early at some point it will feel hollow and not special anymore.
Then youre still young and theres nothing to achieve anymore.
These guys need to find another purpose then.
Thats why back then in the Era of Senna and Schumacher these guys stayed hungry for longer.
He has 4 world titles, alot of records broken and would he be jelous of anyone ? And he said that multiple times he likes to spend time with family and sometimes do other stuff than racing or lets say F1 even in his interview of his 4th title. Max might be one of the drivers that actually speaks his mind and not PR bs.@sum1majik598
I started watching F1 when Max joined. The energy changed. Look at him now and the way he treats rookies and others. Incredible role model.
So you started watching in 2015? So you weren't aware that F1 had great drivers and seasons before he came? 😅
@isaacm2374as great as max?
@Logosan7 : Yes, as great or better than Max.
So the energy changed but you dont know about the engery before hand, cause you have no reference. Cause you only started watching when he started... ohhhhhkkaaayyyyy.
I like him now, he's honest, clearly most talented driver on the grid.
Always has been honest and blunt and aggressive. It's why he's so good.
Yeah i'm not convinced, this new version of max is clearly propped by his PR team
@Megadeth6633 he shits on his PR team all day long.
He speaks with his heart not with commercial shait like Norris.
He shows his emotion and doesnt care what people say or think when he says it.
Not many drivers in my time watching F1 has done so and with zero regards to anything else but his own opinion.
@Megadeth6633 18 year olds act different than 28 year olds. He never cared about public opinion, he can do as he pleases because he's by far the best driver, he already has all the money in the world and he's talking about how he hates this formula E crap which his PR team won't like. I see no reason to believe that he isn't being authentic.
@Megadeth6633 😂😂😂
You know Max is a legend because he didn’t even win last year (he won in our hearts) and yet we’re still talking about him like he did win and will keep on winning. That’s the sign of a legen.
After last season I can't think of a single legend who could end up 2nd let alone just 2 points behind like Max did in his situation.
Max is probably the only driver who came 2nd and people went crazy about his 2nd than the other driver's 1st position :)
Max-the best driver of 2025, officially.
His achievement of getting second almost 1st was wayyyy more impressive than lando becoming first
2 points off in a car that was worse for most of the season
I'm still watching F1 because of Max and Fernando
Same 🙌...but I just started..last season
@atomizerFPSagreed. I appreciate hamilton and his talent, but his personality is like a boiled potato! Same rehearsed answers, no flair apart from physical appearance and style. Fernando and Max are very vocal about not taking bullshit. And they are frank about how they feel about the evolution of the sport. And I agree, if Max leaves, I'll stop watching as well. Unless we get another Max like personality. The rookies of last year do seem impressive, but I haven't noticed that cutthroat style in any other driver yet.
Same. If those 2 retired tomorrow ill for sure take a break from watching F1 until i see another talent of that level and desire to win comes along. And certainly wait for a regulation switch :)
Gonna have to move to watching WEC when they finally do that Le Mans 24hours together. I'd love to see the two of them eventually earn the Triple Crown of racing.
I'm watching F1 because of Max, George, Charles, Nando, Hulk, Chilly, etc, etc.
Congrats guy on bringing Max as your first guest.
If Max leaves F1 one of the best drivers in history it just goes to how much the sport has been riuned with the current people running it .
And the social engineers with their NET ZERO (getting rid of the useless eaters) agenda will continue to make it worse if people continue to watch the slop.
Top 10 maybe. Not top 5. He hasn't won at multiple teams and, for the most part, always had easy teammates.
@Slime-Man-Extremewould being in the top 10 not make him one of the best drivers in F1 history and make the approve statement correct?
Go WOKE you'll go BROKE and look lika a joke ! F1's need to look green is destroying what was once the pinnacle of Motorsports!! They're running a 100% synthetic fuel now so why does F1 need more of this 🔋hybrid 🐃💩 its become ?!!? Bring back the V10's or at least the V8's that we all miss so much ! Ive seen several F1 races going back to V12's the V10's , V8's and these pathetic V6 turbo hybrids. Sure the hybrids are fast, but theyre also huge and very heavy too !! The cars of the 2000's were the pinnacle of F1 racing IMO !
@Slime-Man-Extreme Hm so by your argument Senna cant be also since he won only in McLaren, Schumacher might be top 5 but he won 5 in Ferrari, Vettel cant be since he only won in RedBull like Verstappen, Hamilton cant be he won 6 at Mercedes and was beaten by Rosberg in same car and rest of his teammates were even worse than Verstappens.
I'm so impressed with Max as a person in addition to being a World Class race car driver. So mature and wise.
as a big lewis fan , max has definitely grown on me a lot
Yeah same
same!!
Same
Same
Same
Max is often described as cold but I find his honesty, directness absolutely heart warming in a way. It's because of his bluntness there isn't a lot of mental doubt and mess to weave through when listening to him and all that is left is a clear view of a whole real person, warts and all. Being this blunt is actually scarily vulnerable because what you see is what you get. No hiding behind a facade. You'd have to have balls the size of F1 cars to show yourself like this.
This is a very Dutch trait. What others call blunt. To Dutch people is just normal. You say what you think. No need to complicate. Others might find that blunt or rude. But for Duchies this is just normal. Max is like that too.
@breathofawareness7903 I know, I'm Dutch too ;) But being Dutch in a Dutch environment is not the same as being Dutch in an international environment. Nor is it the same when performing on such a high level, in the spotlight and from such a young age while many people doubted and even mocked him when he started.
@chaosmisha Max is gewoon nuchter en recht voor zijn raap. Zo is hij altijd al geweest. Niks mis mee. Alleen dat zijn die Britten niet gewend. En de Amerikanen ook niet trouwens..
It's all a bit of a Dutch trait no...?
@breathofawareness7903... it's similar with this dead dry British humor...
The day Max leaves F1 is the day my subscription on F1TV ends. Been following F1 since 1974. Came to the conclusion Max is what keeps it going.
Same here.. the quality of the choices what to show is abysmal already, if the one driver that makes it doable leaves, why stay AND pay
Thanks sir for your insight, As a senior spectator of the sport, what drivers in the modern era remind you of thr Drivers from your time? is max one of them?
@itzz_zako Max is the best I ever saw.. and I started watching around '74 and watched a lot of old footage too.
@annebokma4637Sir, 1974 damn, I couldn't fathom how many years it is. Who do you think is better SCHUMACHER or Max and why so, cause I only saw SCHUMACHER after his accident, but always heard that he was the standard and also that aggressive phenom like max
I already canceled my subscription. Too many races and shitty cars
most normal driver champion imo. no gucci stuff, not lost in his celeb status. speaks his mind even tho it means trouble afterwards.
Well im a huge Max fan myself and yes he is not into too much fancy stuff. But just lets be honest he is still living in monaco, he has a 40 million yacht, a huge or at least very expensive car collection. But yes he ist still very down to earth.
@chaos-fk6fswhy take anything away? he made the best out of the hand he was dealt (AK suited 😅)
@broodyking im not taking anything away from anybody with my comment. i never said he didnt earned it or whatsoever.
Not having Gucci makes him normal?
@chaos-fk6fs I always find it odd when people try to make out this very wealthy person to be some regular guy living a cheap humble life out of a hermit cave. Will they start hating him if one day he wears those very garments that they consider ostentatious?
He’s a typical Dutchman , to the point, no BS, get on with it, have fun … and not a poser 😉 (written by a Dutchman)
Insert Obama meme
@samoverbeek4778 Ophouden over Obama.
Cringe
A typical Dutchman.,, So he is godbless not a typical Dutchman 😂. And I am also Dutch. You talk BS!!
Belg*
Max is so down to earth. And he is enjoying life and his humor awesome 😂
Always racing or family,,,
I felt Max was genuinely happy for Lando. That was cool.
I hope people realize that it was the collective goal of the family to get Max where he is right now.
The whole family collectively made sacrifices and Max is acutely aware and appreciative of that.
It is testament to him as a person that he really " sees" the people around him for who they are and not what they represent to the rest of the world.
Winning the Championship was the ultimate goal professionally for the family but at 28 and having achieved so much already it probably is time for a goal that is purely for Max.
@Rab_Cee Goes to show what your perception of sacrifice is if money is the only thing you consider. If finding sponsors and taking out loans to finance your sport is considered rich than again I'll leave you with that perception.
Some sacrifices are not about money dear person and we'll leave it at that.
Like DC Late sister RIP
His dad was a former F1 driver and a friend to Schumacher. He literally grew up in an F1 paddock. He had a childhood that most can only dream of in terms of access and experience
@isaacm2374.I suppose to the outside world that is the only thing they see and think of as some kind of stepping stone. Maybe in a sense it was because Jos , when he himself was an F1 driver. had to learn the hard way how people in the paddock screw you over especially people like Flavio Briatore and he made sure that Max would never have to deal with all that BS from any team.
@Rab_Cee...not Jos, but Max definately had to sacrifice his childhood and - maybe - a normal father-son relationship.
When "Management" Dominates, It's Not racing... Not F1!🏁'
Ps. From the horses mouth. Believe the horse! 🏁
Well said.
@OldmanNixThanks. Sad, but true... Crazy season coming up i think 🤔👍
@Dostoyevskyesqueyou’re actually dumb if you think that, last years gap to the championship wouldn’t have been 2 points if that was the case 😂
@Dostoyevskyesque uh huh. Whatever you need to believe to cope with reality.
@Dostoyevskyesque that's what I said.
"Whatever you need to believe to cope"
Not sure what wasn't clear about that.
Hes being sincere. Hes had kids, now has a family and is starting to realise the childhood that he missed and doesn't want the same for his kids. Hes being entirely honest when he says he doesnt care.
31:40 "He might go race NASCAR"
Will obviously missed the million times where Verstappen said he *WILL NEVER RACE ON AN OVAL IN REAL LIFE*
Nascars do drive on the odd circuit. His moms Nephew races European Nascar. I used to work with one of anthony's best friends, was invited to go visit Nascar at Zolder ( an old F1 circuit) and I have to say, it was pretty cool! Still don't understand or like oval racing though.
@boozelalaNASCAR is what ignorant people think F1 is, literally going in ovals. I also think his saying that IndyCar is too “dangerous” to do is a more PR way of saying it’s boring lol. Endurance racing is where he’ll go and I think he could cause a massive shift in audience leaving F1 and going to WEC and the 24h races
Well, while it is preference, oval/draft racing is VERY different from circuit/open wheel. I have no doubt max could figure it out with time, but hes already mastered 1 style, no need to put the effort into figuring out a completely different
@Huttser It's not about him mastering it. He's been asked about it a bunch of times. One of his answers: "I have already accomplished everything I ever wanted (in motorsport) and I will not risk my legs or life in Indycar/ on an oval"
@boozelala As an American, I always thought NASCAR was lame and made the same jokes ("haha all they do is turn left") most do. But after getting more into motorsport and getting into sim racing, I can totally understand it from a driver stand point. It's a mix of endurance + seeking perfection. Those 4 turns matter because there's only 4 of them. It's like the NFL vs MLB. In the NFL, there are only 17 regular season games per team. MLB? 162 games per team. Part of the NFL's popularity is driven by the fact your team only has 17 games. Every single play matters. At least in the comparison of 162 games.
Max is a lovely lad and a credit to him mum n dad.
His dad? 😬
@sid6645yes his dad you deaf
Bring back trhe V10's, drop all that electric crap, and use E-fuels, done.
This. We all want this. MAKE IT HAPPEN.
We need Lawrence Stroll to roll out the billions together with Toto and Hamilton and invent Formula 10. Move on from FOM altogether.
agrea it is all bs that electric crap don't work ( it will come back normal engines and yes lol v10 )
@jorgzvl1137 Yes 70/30 for couple of years then 60/40 maybe that could have worked
that wont support the goal of accelerating Research and development in technologies that trickle down to everyday people. Thats one of the main goals of F1. So its either another series or not happening.
I'm no Max fan. But it's great to see and hear him be the man he's become. A fascinating and wonderful interview. 👍
My first memory of Max: An interview in ORF (Austrian Broadcaster) with Gerhard Berger when he was at Torro Rosso Managment (or some time around there). He warned the interviewer: "Wait when Max Verstappen arrives, he is at the moment winning everything in the youth classes." I thought: Verstappen? That was that driver at the backmarkers. I started watching F1 in 1997. So yeah.. Berger knew back then :D
He is already a legend and this interview really cements that he has his head screwed on correctly. Feircly competitive, but genuinly down to earth and a wonderful family man.
Very nice to hear DC again in a podcast-esque medium. Miss EJ and his fiery opinions.
He was one of the last real “blokes/dudes/men” in F1 media. Not afraid to, at least speak his mind, which many people agreed with.
I love how Max is straight to the point and honest.
Err.....I love how Dutch max. is.❤
There are other open and honest drivers on the grid, who are getting slated for it. God, how much I hate these double standards!
@cocounterbergerin39which ones lol you mean only Max and Alonso and the rest just fake PR drivers and soft ones LOL 🙎♂️
Incredible interview, so warm, honest and felt like a chat with friends over a beer... Enjoyed every word.. Thank you x
Awesome show. Awesome interview.
Only negative: the interview with Verstappen was about 12 weeks too short.
Listening to that man restores a little bit of hope in humanity every single time.
The respect, humour, honesty and friendliness is so refreshing..
Excellently worded!
Max had the right opportunities in his life, but he also did everything in his power to take advantage of them, and that is what counts. The mentality of doing the best with what you got and not losing sight of the important things in life is what counts.
Can you get Carlos Sainz Next😅❤
Another legend and funny guy!
Love Carlos!
And Fernando
Chilly and Nando together would be good.
Nah because he is Fake so we want Alonso who is like Max a brutally honest straightforword no BS speak his mind
27:50 Max is so real for this it's not even funny. Got a good head on his shoulders and knows what life is about.
I follow Max wherever he race
You know that you can watch more than 1 type of Motorsport, right?
Max has matured a lot from when he started in F1. Good on You Max!
When Max started he was very mature, I worried that as he'd never had a childhood he'd turn out 'bratish'. I was very wrong.
He is that way since day one
Any Chance for Sebastian Vettel or Carlos Sainz next?
Seb is too 'woke', a waste of space.
Please not
this is why he is never overly satisfied, and this is why he is such a great racing driver, he is always looking for more....alot more.
What a lovely, lovely interview. Max seems so genuine. And I do think that of course he'd like it he'd win 8 titles, I just don't think it's his ultimate goal and it's not what's going to keep him in F1. I can see him leaving after 2028.
16:14 and we saw this at the Vegas 2025, GP gave comms that Lando had been told to go and get Max, and he instantly went and posted multiple purple laps.
Same with the fight with Lewis in 2021 both of them were going at it while leaving everyone else way behind on the track.
Dude's chilling until he absolutely has to push hard.
First interview and they don’t pick the world champion who would be expected. I respect that🙌🏼 great interview!!
Honestly, until I was reminded by your comment, I was thinking: "Wow, the world champion is the first guest!"
@XGLDF 🎯
Start with the best
@XGLDFsame forgot he didn't got that one in the end !
17:11 “I can do somethings in the dark” - DC. What a Chad
Watched live F1 from 1997-2017. Alonso and Hamilton are 2 of my all time favourites.
At the end of 2024, a buddy mentioned Max's drive in Brazil. I knew how he good was, remembered Brazil 2016. I watched the race and then saw all of his drives from 2018-24.
What Will said about Max, how he treated his father, doesn't come as a surprise to me.
My all time favourite F1 drivers -
1) Niki Lauda
2) Ayrton Senna
3) Fernando Alonso
4) Max Verstappen
5) Lewis Hamilton
Would love to see Max, Alonso, and Hulkenberg in WEC. Unsure about Hamilton, but I'd love that as well.
Thanks for the video, much appreciated.
Great top 4 …
@joineralbert2493- who are your favourite 5?
Vettel is actually talking to Max about doing Le Mans together. Add Alonso and you got a dream team.
@dylansmit3883- 🤘
Alternatively, i'd love to see something like -
1) Alonso and Hulkenberg, and another driver, drive for Manufacturer A
2) Vettel and Verstappen + another driver drive for Manufacturer B.
24:09 - Naomi is a real one. Appreciate both of your shoutouts to the esports community. Awesome journalism here
Buxton always overdoes himself. Wally.
WOW what a GREAT INTERVIEW with MAX❤ Thank you so much, the Best😊😊
I think Naomi is spot on, Max now wants to enjoy himself in f1. So hopefully he'll be able to do so 🧿
Great first guest. Not a Max fan, also not a hater, and this was a great interview, always nice to see him be himself essentially.
Can't wait to see more of this podcast.
Max is a such an interesting guy, very humble and generous with his time even Lewis has to respect him despite 2021
Max is so humble, and he is so honest……..
OOOH I've waited all day for this interview. YES from Southern Cali. Let's get N2 it with Max guys. Grazie Mille! Pumped for this season. 🔥🧡
Oh yes, we were all waiting for you in So. CA. We knew you, specifically, just HAD to see it.
I've been eagerly waiting for it too. Fortunately for me, it's morning in South Africa. 🇿🇦 😊 I didn't have to wait all day, just all of last night. So I'm stoked for you. I'm glad it finally came, & that it was well worth your wait. So if you've been waiting all day for it as you said, then I hope you have a lovely evening.
🏁✔️
Great show and amazing 1st interview. Can't wait for more.
Max is so miss understood... He is a family man and very grounded, genuine... Him talking about his family should tell you enough. And Max always said he doesn't care about statistics or records.
Just look at how Penelope is devoted to him. That tells you more than enough about what kind of person he is in real life.
I’ve been watching Max for ages and I’ve never seen him so relaxed. Good on ya.
Max looks way more relaxed and casual in interviews these days. Is it older age/more experienced, new RB mgmt style or he has won it all multiple times, so he is just at peace with his accomplishments. Likely all the above.
Max was like this for years already, but ppl never watched his interviews
Being a dad also softens you a bit, especially being a girl dad.
Eddie Jordan would have love this
RIP legend
I respect Max's take on racing, or not racing, he can know he's one of the greats and can go live his life. Props.
Don’t love him, but that interview has endeared me a lot to him. Great interview Max. Nice and genuine.
Max 2023 season might never be beaten again 86% winrate is ridiculous it was a record that stood for 60 years. Some other records he holds/equalled.
-Most wins a row
-Most poles in a row equalling Senna
-Most wins in a season
-Highest percentage of laps in the lead in a season 75%
- Most podiums in a season
- Most lead laps in a season
- Most points in a season
There where like 30+ records added to his name on the F1 driver records wiki page in one year. Even some strange opposite ones like Winning most races starting from pole, but also Winning most races not starting from pole. It's almost comical.
Sure, driving a car a second a lap quicker than his rivals with no challenge from his "number 2" team mate, in the most reliable cars in the history of F1, wow what an achievement
@KneppaH its almost like they're creating "records" to make max sound better than he is.
@therealjimshady100try it yourself if that’s so easy…
Contributing to Buxtons view on the open invitations for Max: So Sonny of the F1 Movie is actually based on the future of Max 😮
Driving and racing in every class until the’re none left and then he’ll head into the desert Mad Max style 😂
Absolutely loving this podcast. There is so much potential for this. Great chemistry between presenters and speakers. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
F1: "I am sorry, FIA, but I don't think things are going to work out. It's not me, it's you. It has always been you."
Wonderful interview, thank you. It’s fun to see a long form with Max with people he obviously respects and trusts. He does seem like an authentically cool person.
Aw what a brilliant interview, you can tell Max has a soft spot for DC
Brilliantly done interview with MAX and awesomely summed up by all you guys, its always fresh when you see MAX talking open and carefree, gives a glimpse of what that man is made of and molded into and now he does the same to other juniors around him. A true character of steel i must say and its going to be hard to find another MAX any time near future. He is one of a kind, the kind who MAXES out in whatever and wherever he is racing. Enjoyed the whole interview and yes thats a start with a BANG. Keep it up guys and best to you all.
Good job, thanks for that interview. Once again, what a nice man he is.
On another note, please consider working a little on transitions between questions. Sometimes, questions are just mismatching, so seems like we’re jumping back and forth (e.g., sim racing, personal questions, then back to redline)
My advice: have Max come at each of your shows to let us go through the season with him. He is F1 superstar
Max had a dream; he is now living it. Lovely guy, great family and a great champion. Really enjoyed the interview.
Requests for future interviews - Ron Dennis.
Sincere and honest. More than you can say for certain others!
17:40 “do you think the fact that you practice more than any of the other drivers plays a roll in you be better than the other drivers?”
Who would’ve thought practicing something would make you better 😂
Role
@yas23er fair fair. Can tell your very smart. The point stands
I can tell you as a driver myself and now working with my son for his career the answer is 100% yes. It’s seat time and experience. You can teach any child to drive. You need dedication and intelligence.
Excellent show. Love Max the man and driver. He has a good kind soul. So happy to have witnessed his career. Wish him and family the very best. Go Max!
Respect to Max to help the racing sport grow in terms of more equality. The guy is not only creating nice qoutes or headlines, but actually doing things that have a positive impact for the sport.
Just love Max's directness and honesty, very typically Dutch. What you see is what you get without malice.
Meanwhile, he's still just 28 years old and not just already accomplished so much - he is also literally creating opportunities for others to have a career in motor sports.
Ohh god, the "I was a racer once too" dude of the show...
DC: So you know you were effectively born on wheels or conceived on wheels 😂😂😂
lol yep.. poor choice of words indeed
I mean... was he wrong though?
Perhaps DC knew the story from Jos and couldn’t help it 🤣
"Mmmm Jos.... I like your gearstick."
;)
Great interview! The best way to start the channel. Thanks for your very good job. Nice approach, nice format, high level questions, elegant and respectful. That's how it must be done. And about Max: a great sportsman who has real pourposes. Thanks Max for all you have been doing for the motorsport and others racers.
19:39 "So you, you know, you were effectively born on wheels or **conceived on wheels**." LMFAOOO 😭😭😭
Hopefully get to see Max this year at one of the races on the calendar! :)
Nothing but respect, even when battling with Lando over the years, and pushing the limits, and pushing him off the track. I'll always be a McLaren fan and love Alonso, but what Max has brought to the sport is invaluable in so many ways. Love Max - is mind, his intensity, understanding of his sport. A true champion and might become the best of all time...
I mostly agree with all things you said. Although, honestly, I don't like Max' way of driving sometimes.
17:00 I soooo want to see a video of Max trying this.
He just went up about 10 notches in my book. What a great man and driver. And I say that as Hamilton fan.
Max does not like 'woke' fools.
great conversation! thanks for sharing
Leclerc please !
Max is a Renaissance Man.
The GOAT, the maturity and insane talent on his shoulders is amoung the greatest if not THE greatest that has ever done it. He speaks out in honesty for the sport and for him getting the best out of himself. The current ownership has to go, because if Max leaves, the sport is dead, zero personality or anyone with anywhere near the talent he has on the curent roster.
Great first interview! I've been waiting for DC to find another channel to share his ideas and knowledge! I'm 66 yrs. old and love F1 and racing in general! I very much DO miss Eddie Jordan! The both of you were one of my favorite channels to watch! And I'll leave it at that. Oh yeah David, my wife says "Grrrowwll" Love you guys!
Max leaving F1 would be a catastrophe
Not for the class he is going to drive in🤣, I an happy to watch something else then F1, if he is in it.
@arjenvanklinken1727 My guess is it'll be GT3s. But don't wait for Max, go and watch GTWorld's RUclips coverage of the Bathurst 12 hours race last weekend. It's fantastic! Particularly the last 3 hours.
@arjenvanklinken1727 Forreal I hope he goes to GT3s
Amazing show. Love Max his the best.
Good job guys. Nail on the head, first episode. You are just missing Eddie.
Rip
Hate is a strong word. Ive grown to admire him as a person and feel he has worked hard to filter the immense stress and strain that is put on him so that what the media get is a more considered individual. There is no doubt he is one of the best drivers ever and while his aggression may give some to claim a weakness lets not compare him to the low levels we saw in previous generations such as Schumacher. He's spot on with his perspective on life. Family and other ambitions have to happen today, not some vague time in the future. He certainly has his head screwed on and in my opinion, while he struggles sometimes with the anger he inherited from his father, he is in a better position and has his head screwed on.
4:53 i think a lot of people dislikED him, but has won over the majority of those people since!
Great interview!
What Max meant by not caring is he doesn't care how many championships he wins. He never said he doesn't care about winning or winning championships. There is a difference. Wanting to beat the record for most championships is an altogether different neurosis.
Exactly
I have to say that Max seems like a really solid and good guy.
Max made reference to the 24 Race schedule. That puts strain on all the relationships in F1
There are millions of men doing jobs away from family 6 to 11 months a year. It's not that different. Tough but it is what it is.
Respect Max !
From a Lewis supporter that I am , I have to congratulate this wonderful person that he become. A great person, a devoted dad, a great example for young drivers, like Kimi, and one of the best pilots of all time ! Congratulations Max !!!!
He has many years of racing in front of him . He is Max Verstapen for God sake!!!! Who will drive if Max will leave F1 .......
We can not have a proper race without Max !!!!
Great interview and way less snaps. Well done!
Amazing chat - can’t imagine F1 w/o Max
how can you not love Max.
For me, Max is like a spoiled teenage boy. His dad gives him everything, yet he shows no respect for him or anyone else. Classic narcissist.
@jarsoMax said many times that he was nothing without his dad and red bull. Max is always direct and honest and he helps the rookie always. Max is a great person for the rookies, his team and his family. If Max is a narcist than everybody with a good heart is a narcist.
@jarso what?
@noahtimmermans424 he's like the EXACT opposite of a spoiled 'young boy'.
His dad 'gave' him everything. if you mean making him work his childhood and teen years from morning to night, every day to become the best driver is 'daddy giving him everything' then you must have had a really extremly hard life.
There are a lot of spoiled drivers on the grid. max is not one of them 😅
@jarso Lewis fanboy
