Do you think this will be Max's last season in F1? 👀

    • @tvgcmma9215
      @tvgcmma9215 Month ago +26

No but extending the season and amount of races will mean drivers don’t compete for as long - to many sports governing bodies diluting the product by trying to make sure even more money by having more events

I wouldn't agree, he has a massive ego, like all greats have to have. He definitely thinks he is superior driver but he definitely doesn't think he is superior human being and that's a great combination

@MrTwoojStaryMate, he was great with me and my lad, no airs or graces with him. He stopped and chatted to my lad for about 10 mins, talking about his kart, race sims and even football because my lad had his Wrexham top on (We are born and bred from Wrexham). He happily posed for photos with us as well. So our time with him, he was also 2 time world champion at the time, he had no ego. Of course he has on the racetrack but wasn’t with us.

It's also mental gymnastics, now that he knows he might not have a real shot at the title as apposed to previous years, he's suddenly acting like he doesn't care if he gets the title or not, you're being played by him!
anyone who is in f1 wants to win the title and nothing else, it's literally that simple, so him saying he doesn't care, is actually him being a little bit jealous of Lando :) it's all mental gymnastics

    • @Marcel-h7d
      @Marcel-h7d Month ago +11

Thats the issue with champions getting younger and younger in sports, same with Alcaraz.
If youre winning so much too early at some point it will feel hollow and not special anymore.
Then youre still young and theres nothing to achieve anymore.
These guys need to find another purpose then.
Thats why back then in the Era of Senna and Schumacher these guys stayed hungry for longer.

And he said that multiple times he likes to spend time with family and sometimes do other stuff than racing or lets say F1 even in his interview of his 4th title. Max might be one of the drivers that actually speaks his mind and not PR bs.@sum1majik598

@atomizerFPSagreed. I appreciate hamilton and his talent, but his personality is like a boiled potato! Same rehearsed answers, no flair apart from physical appearance and style. Fernando and Max are very vocal about not taking bullshit. And they are frank about how they feel about the evolution of the sport. And I agree, if Max leaves, I'll stop watching as well. Go WOKE you'll go BROKE and look lika a joke ! F1's need to look green is destroying what was once the pinnacle of Motorsports!! They're running a 100% synthetic fuel now so why does F1 need more of this 🔋hybrid 🐃💩 its become ?!!? Bring back the V10's or at least the V8's that we all miss so much ! Ive seen several F1 races going back to V12's the V10's , V8's and these pathetic V6 turbo hybrids. Sure the hybrids are fast, but theyre also huge and very heavy too !! The cars of the 2000's were the pinnacle of F1 racing IMO !

Max is often described as cold but I find his honesty, directness absolutely heart warming in a way. It's because of his bluntness there isn't a lot of mental doubt and mess to weave through when listening to him and all that is left is a clear view of a whole real person, warts and all. Being this blunt is actually scarily vulnerable because what you see is what you get. No hiding behind a facade. You'd have to have balls the size of F1 cars to show yourself like this.

    • @breathofawareness7903

This is a very Dutch trait. What others call blunt. To Dutch people is just normal. You say what you think. No need to complicate. Others might find that blunt or rude. But for Duchies this is just normal. Max is like that too.

@breathofawareness7903 I know, I'm Dutch too ;) But being Dutch in a Dutch environment is not the same as being Dutch in an international environment. I hope people realize that it was the collective goal of the family to get Max where he is right now.
The whole family collectively made sacrifices and Max is acutely aware and appreciative of that.
It is testament to him as a person that he really " sees" the people around him for who they are and not what they represent to the rest of the world.
Winning the Championship was the ultimate goal professionally for the family but at 28 and having achieved so much already it probably is time for a goal that is purely for Max.

@boozelala As an American, I always thought NASCAR was lame and made the same jokes ("haha all they do is turn left") most do. But after getting more into motorsport and getting into sim racing, I can totally understand it from a driver stand point. It's a mix of endurance + seeking perfection. Those 4 turns matter because there's only 4 of them. It's like the NFL vs MLB. In the NFL, there are only 17 regular season games per team. MLB? 162 games per team. Part of the NFL's popularity is driven by the fact your team only has 17 games. Every single play matters. At least in the comparison of 162 games.

My first memory of Max: An interview in ORF (Austrian Broadcaster) with Gerhard Berger when he was at Torro Rosso Managment (or some time around there). He warned the interviewer: "Wait when Max Verstappen arrives, he is at the moment winning everything in the youth classes." I thought: Verstappen? That was that driver at the backmarkers. I started watching F1 in 1997. So yeah.. Berger knew back then :D

Watched live F1 from 1997-2017. Alonso and Hamilton are 2 of my all time favourites.
At the end of 2024, a buddy mentioned Max's drive in Brazil. I knew how he good was, remembered Brazil 2016. I watched the race and then saw all of his drives from 2018-24.
What Will said about Max, how he treated his father, doesn't come as a surprise to me.
My all time favourite F1 drivers -
    1) Niki Lauda
    2) Ayrton Senna
    3) Fernando Alonso
    4) Max Verstappen
    5) Lewis Hamilton
Would love to see Max, Alonso, and Hulkenberg in WEC. Unsure about Hamilton, but I'd love that as well.

Hate is a strong word. Ive grown to admire him as a person and feel he has worked hard to filter the immense stress and strain that is put on him so that what the media get is a more considered individual. There is no doubt he is one of the best drivers ever and while his aggression may give some to claim a weakness lets not compare him to the low levels we saw in previous generations such as Schumacher. He's spot on with his perspective on life. Family and other ambitions have to happen today, not some vague time in the future. He certainly has his head screwed on and in my opinion, while he struggles sometimes with the anger he inherited from his father, he is in a better position and has his head screwed on.

From a Lewis supporter that I am , I have to congratulate this wonderful person that he become. A great person, a devoted dad, a great example for young drivers, like Kimi, and one of the best pilots of all time ! Congratulations Max !!!!
He has many years of racing in front of him . He is Max Verstapen for God sake!!!! Who will drive if Max will leave F1 .......
We can not have a proper race without Max !!!!

For me, Max is like a spoiled teenage boy. His dad gives him everything, yet he shows no respect for him or anyone else. Classic narcissist.

@jarsoMax said many times that he was nothing without his dad and red bull. Max is always direct and honest and he helps the rookie always. Max is a great person for the rookies, his team and his family. If Max is a narcist than everybody with a good heart is a narcist.

@noahtimmermans424 he's like the EXACT opposite of a spoiled 'young boy'.
His dad 'gave' him everything. if you mean making him work his childhood and teen years from morning to night, every day to become the best driver is 'daddy giving him everything' then you must have had a really extremly hard life.
There are a lot of spoiled drivers on the grid. max is not one of them 😅
