    I did this to my BSR MA65 built for Fisher. My old "The Fisher 125" itself though is pretty well clapped out as all the pots and switches are shot and no amount of deoxit will change that, lol. The flywheel on the tuner has wallowed out the bushing the rod sits in making it difficult to tune stations and either it has dropped one of its FM transistors or the traces on a board have lifted as FM is now dead and I only get AM with it. Wanting to find a clapped out stand alone BSR, take the unit out of its cabinet and replace it with my fully functional MA65 to run to a new receiver. The new receiver/amp has dedicated phono jacks, pre-amp and ground screw, so it should all be fine. Just hoping whatever cabinet I find for the unit will fit. I assume most of the plinths are the same size so it shouldn't be too much of a problem should it?

    I like the way that you take these decks apart to service them!! I hope my garrard 210 in the Bush record player has been done lik this!! thanks BUSHVHF

      I suppose it depends on the person servicing it I do all my decks this way its the only way some just hose them down with WD40 I like to be sure everything is spot on

      Yes, that is what I am worried about when collecting mine, I havent seen how this guy mends them, he does have a big collection of old radios (that he hasnt renovated to working!!!) I think he has done the caps in the amp but I dont think he will have done anything with the electrostatic grundig speaker in the Bush SRP31C I will see tomorrow, Maybe I am being a bit "suspicious" but after seeing your "lab" set up and you obviously know what youre doing and can read a circuit diagram like a childs book I can see that youre the real McCoy!!

      yes, I can see that from that BSR stripdown and rebuild in 4 vids!! you really know the inertia tab on the cogged wheel and all the mechanics of it, I will see how mine has been done tomorrow when I go to Preston to pick them up, I might be feeling a bit suspicious but Im sure this guy doesnt have a "lab" set up like yours and I dont think he has stripped down my deck like you see in this vid. I will let you know!! I might have another Bush with a BSR monarch deck so as youre much clsoer than Preston that would be very handy,
      Im in no rush for repairs so doesnt matter how long they take and I wont be pestering you and will pay a deposit of course in cash

    In the mid 1960s (1965-1970..approx.) BSR used an alternate VM type mechanism. Then in the 1970s they used another alternate mechanism called the Glenburn design.. Both of these had a lot of service problems and I cannot find repair tutorials on either of those. .Unfortunately, many of those VM type BSRs were dropped into some pretty nice portables which are restoration worthy.

    Hi there
    I have just done some work on a BSR autochanger and when I tested it, the turntable spins 2 rpm faster than it should. Do you know how to get it to spin at correct speed ?

  • @larryshaver3568
    @larryshaver3568 4 года назад

    I have a 4speed one that looks very much like that one, I just put a new cartridge on it

    Can you rebuild a Collaro{Magnavox}? I can completely rebuild ones made after 1970

    the 16rpm speed was deleted in late 1973
