It's stressful to watch. Most people use the terms "strawman" and "ad hominem" in situations they don't even apply. They just use them because they heard the words. And when you use something as simple as reductio ad absurdum, like Andrew did in this video, they're like "That makes no sense" (just like the other guy said). And I'm like "YES! It makes no sense, and that's YOUR argument."

Hello local atheist here, my dad sent me to a Christian School growing up from elementary to Middle School after 8th grade I told my dad that I was an atheist and he was completely fine with it after i told him he sent me to a normal school after that. So going off of my experience alone I would say Christians are far more tolerable when it comes to other people's religions or beliefs (or lack of).
You should realize the stupidity of atheism and come back to God.

Also i live in a country that is almost half muslim and half christian. The number of times ive heard a muslim k*illing someone over religion and christian doing the same is 10 to 0 respectively. and the government is mainly muslim right now.
Christians LITERALLY wrote freedom of religion into law…. I’m agnostic, and I will defend orthodox Christianity WITH MY OWN LIFE. I can’t have faith in god, something I can’t totally prove just yet, but I’ve read all the major religious scripture front to back…. Torah, Quaran, the MANY sects bibles, Bhudism, Hinduism…. Literally most all religions and many of their sects and heresies….
I find universal truth ACROSS the scripture CONSTANTLY….
There are just things about religion, and orthodox Christianity specifically that I CANNOT REFUTE.
So what they are metaphorical stories. Maybe they’re not? But so what…. It speaks the truth plain and simple. The ways of life most religions (Christianity at the top) prescribe to and enforce is just RIGHT. It’s BEST even.
But I’m not religious either. I can still accept total and universal truth though….

Ethics, seperate from an objective standard of morals, is the study of when and How to cross moral lines in the Best way according to the harm principle.
And even then. It isnt constrained by the harm principle anymore unlike its origin.

The government “loves” secularism. It is far easier to control, and manipulate, those that have no grounded ethics. This “floating” morality, this “my own will be done” mentality just promotes materialism and hedonism.

Happiness is subjective and it depends of the country and culture of what they define as happy. For me, as long as a economy is good, plenty of jobs, affordable housing, families everywhere and people with shared values, that is what I'd measure happiness with. Not all feel good things should be measured in happiness though because people may find terrible things and crimes to make them happy so there should be a strict moral compass of what defines happiness as Andrew has stated. If we go purely off the subjective basis of happiness not enforced by moral ethics, then the world would be a more evil place.
It’s really easy to determine who actually understands their convictions and who doesn’t, just by the way they disclose it - Its hardly a debate of beliefs, if only one person knows what they are talking about

This individual argues with the logic and reasoning of a 12-year-old. As a coach for 12U sports, I see similarities between his arguments and those of some of my more outspoken players. I say this sincerely, without intending any disrespect. Many secular individuals seem to experience little growth or maturity. Without the influence of Christian ethics and worldview prevalent in the USA, it’s possible they might have faced even greater difficulties, such as extinction.
This guys issue is he cant articulate his morals because he doesnt have a central moral framework of the bible. His epistemology is "because it feels right". As it is subjective, it doesnt exist outside his mind.

Christianity alone has thousands of denominations that don’t even agree and that’s just one religion and imagine all of the theists that are not part of a religion that also have their own beliefs. Religion and state are different
Nothing in the constitution says that laws cannot be influenced by religion. It just says Congress cannot establish a national religion. And you cannot stop anyone from exercising a religion

Americans have the ethics of respecting others religions not because they Christians, but because they are ROMANS, and these ethics are derived from Roman Polytheism. Andrew Wilson should study the causes behind the Crusades. Monotheism is a political ambition, polytheism is a cold hard reality.
