Thank you very, very much for your totally wonderful, respectful, and loving reaction. Sometimes I come back to this song, because I just have to hear this part of Dan's heart once again. Then I sit here, like now, thinking back to my own parents' and my brother's times of passing. There are SO many memories. My own dad died at age 54. My [younger]-younger brother died at the same age, which really seems strange when you realize that my grandfather (that I never met)--Dad's dad, ALSO had passed away at age 54. When my [older]-younger brother had hit age 54 (even before Frankie left us, of course), it was kind of like the whole family had held its breath in trepidation. Thankfully, he's still alive and kicking (and still living in Valdez, Alaska where we grew up). He's 1-1/2 years behind me, having just turned 72 in July. I'll be 74, five weeks from now. Back to Dan...I hope you'll now react to the other Elvis Song (Love Me Tender), that was actually a result of THIS song. I think he had a pretty good birthday. I saw, yesterday, from the reel he posted, that he got to play one of his favorite games with Beardo during "his day," and he thought that was a pretty good gift. 😀 It would be TREMENDOUS (and pretty record-breaking, I'd bet) if we could get the necessary 115,000 subs for Dan by Christmas. The numbers would have to grow at about 2,300 per day. There have been spurts since April, with MORE than that (I keep a chart). Right now he has been sitting at 885K for almost a full two days. On 08/18/23 the subs jumped 6,000 upward. On 09/30/23 there was a 2,000 upward jump. Since then (as with most of the time since April, he has been averaging at least close to 1,000 new subs per day. If that impetus keeps up (with no 2- or 3-day stalls), he definitely COULD see the 1M roll around at the end of December, but more likely at least part of the way into January, or even February. I don't think it will take longer than February. 😀
I don’t know anyone who could keep it together like he did singing that cover so shortly after his Dad passed, it broke my heart when he looked up after that big lump in his throat and tears were rolling from his eyes Down his cheek, but he got through it and belted the last bit out.
