"The Housewife's Lament (1866)" is the third single from Dawn's album The Liberated Woman's Songbook, out March 29, 2024.
The lyrics were found in the diary of Mrs. Sara A. Price of Ottowa, Illinois during the Civil War. She had seven children and outlived them all.

I listened to a bunch of different group/singers versions of this song and it gave me a real appreciation for this version. Dawn's voice and such a wonderful and unique arrangement really convey emotion. That is not easy to do. This version absolutely stands alone. Congratulations Dawn, this is a masterpiece
