Easy way for refitting plastic peg to regulator is fit them back in glass first and then line up with regulator bang top of glass with your hand and they snap in to place
That's a lot of rivets there, we don't have skodas here but I worked on some when I lived In Ireland ( the old box shaped ones ) I remember those Peugeot 205s you know the ones from the late 90s had the same setup as these or maybe is was the citrons can't remember....used to just chisel them off but not on that skoda...too many curves in that inner panel, I hope you have a pneumatic rivet gun... sweet repair mate.... keep them coming.

Why are electric windows not designed so you can attach a handle behind the cover and easily manually wind them up and down, like if they stop working just attach a handle and wind them up and down until it gets fixed… My windows sometimes stop working so afraid to use them now in case they go down and not come back up…..
How would they be able to charge extortionate prices for replacement parts if they did this. Plus, a damaged mechanism is still damaged so extra chance of damaging the glass when winding down manually
I thought the disassembly was complex enough before we got to the rivets. No chance. I’ll just leave the goddamn window shut. I live in Manchester anyway.
Hi i changed both of my 131 superb regulator in the last month .used a 100 mm wood screw to withdraw inner plastic clip from glass and length of wire with hook on the end for the larger outer one. Guess what..my wife's Octavia driver regulator has just gone...that's why I'm here.
And all because people got too lazy to wind a window down manually, what a totally epic project, if they cannot make things reliable or quick and easy to repair, carmakers should return to using manual winding gear on car windows, it is much better for the environment too.
Not a nice job. ive done a few. vag dont make it easy. question for you. ive a 08 mondeo saloon and ive replaced one of the door locks several times and my problem persists. sometimes it opens sometimes it doesnt via the push button key. very annoying. i went to our resident genius here and he thinks its electrical issue related to a box located above the glove compartment. ive no reason to doubt him. have you ever come across this?
Hello Paul, While I have not come across that in a Mondeo the rules remain pretty similar on systems, check manually that all cables and slide clips move freely, once that is over check voltage at door module, if you have a scan tool with this feature it can be much easier by checking it as you press lock/unlock on the key fob etc.. Could be a control unit or a wiring issue in the loom of the door (all guesses) like anything it would require deeper investigation to have an answer for you.

Window regulators seem to be a common weakness on VW's. The pop rivets make it even more awkward.
Any ideas why my 09 octavia drivers window opens back half way after ive closed it, cant get it to stay shut, cheers

I’ve replaced my window reg but my window keeps slipping out of the holders on the regulator. Do you know how can I tighten them?

I would love the option for both, if motor failed you could pull off a cover and reveal a spot for a key or handle to insert and move the window haha
Agree entirely. I'm sure this has been designed to be easily assembled on the production line with no regard to reliability or repair.
