Hey can someone explain some basic music theory to me? On the second chord shown, around 2:10, he has it labeled as Bb/D. I understand how its Bb, but could someone explain how it is D?
D is on the bottom, so we use the slash to indicate that lowest note. "Inversion" is the term for this! Bb "over" D is a Bb chord in "first inversion."
I’m a noob, but a subscriber for the past 2 years. I love the service and I have a repertoire of about 10 songs. I’ve tried my hardest (with the time I have) to read music, but I just can’t get it. HD Piano has breathed life into something I’ve always wanted to do. I very much enjoy it. One question for this song. I play many song along with the recording with no issues. But this song just seems out of tune with the recording. I’ve tried to transpose the key (electronically) flat and sharp and that is not it. Is Coldplay’s recording on a slightly out of tune piano, or slowed down, or something. Can’t put my finger on it. By myself it sounds great, but just a tad off when played along with the song. I love this song and the fact that I was able to learn it very quickly is just awesome. Thanks!!
Thanks for the kind words and for learning with us! You have a great ear - the Coldplay recording is just a bit sharper than the standard A=440 tuning that we're used to, so you'd need to pitch the song down a little bit to play along without that dissonance. Hope this helps!

The first part sounds nice and then when you try to pay for this it’s not really the song at all. It’s like an easy dumbed down version. I bought the sheet music and these notes aren’t correct. Darn because I love the method that this is taught!

So it’s like in your version the melody isn’t played. 🤔 I love the way the song is taught by you and I learned fast that way. Also you have a “fuller” version. Instead of the sheet music which simply has A and D on the left hand you’ve included F which gives it a richer sound. I just wish it included the right parts.
