After my depressed closed window Corona-day full of Black and Death Metal documentaries which seemed being finished with Pelle Ohlins life and death, I met my flatmate in the kitchen and thanks to him, I could have a smoke. I started this Podcast and it warms my heart. Fenriz has been in my life for nearly 30 years now, since BM has been chosen and shaking 'n darkened my mind. It's such a deep sentimental sad base in my life, it's more than an affection. What if I hadn't many seemingly differend aesthetic biases to balance my mind out with the morbidity of that music, of thoses tragedies which I followed via Fanzines, in feeeew features in other mags and - either rare as fucks highlights: Moving pictures on MTV. And now I listen to this very cool, hilarious and happily mooded TRUE talk with one of those legends we all still use to talk about. Thanks 'n good luck! Happy that there's more interesting starring on further episodes, hopefully in English language as well🍀

looks like i listened to this 2 years ago. must have been drunk. when i was kinda a child in the days of sims 1 i used the money cheat and built a huge pink house in the shape of an upside down cross and me and fenriz lived there. most music annoys me but darkthrone never has. closest i got was being disappointed by ravishing grimness when it came out but now it's one of my favs. this is all comforting af, thanks, love it. rip kittelsen. jeg er glad i deg.

Interstingly, they talked about the notorious Norwegian beer taxes. That, and a recent bill in my home State (USA) made getting Nøgne, a very strong Norwegian beer that makes a great Imperial Stout, nearly impossible to get here.

The reason why KISS Unmasked is the album that ignited the whole kiss- frenzy is....wwaaaitforiiit, they were actually denied airtime in US, so there was never any global kiss frenzy before unmasked when the radio channels actually started to play kiss. Offcourse kiss had a local and probably a not so local live audience, but never a radio audience until unmasked. Now, how do I know? Joe Rogan talks about exactly this in his podcast, and he should probably know being muuurican and all. I might have spoken with a tone of absolute certainty, which I tend to do when I comment on stuff I don't know for sure, but don't take this theory for good fish. It might be very bad fish like snørrgjøss or perhaps rakfisk. For those of you who dont know. Rakfish is the second necro fish out there, topped only by Grave Salmon. These are meals we Norwegians eat daily as we ride across the glaciers on our polar bear mounts listening to Darkthrone on Walkman. Cheers
darkthrone was releasing thrash and traditional heavy metal inspired stuff at a time when 90s black metal sound was trendier than ever. circle the wagons is an all time classic imo - theres way too much black and theres too little metal!
