    This is so sweet for guitarists and keyboardists who would like to groove with a three piece - can't think of a better set of apps than this and a few of Luis's drum apps. Anywhere, anytime, lots of presets to just jam with, plus the ability to program parts for live/studio use. Great demo, Bravo @Lumbeats 👏👏👏

    Wow! Have just purchased both iBassist and Mid East Drummer from your links😎🎤 Utterly amazing! I remember when a 4 track sequencer was a massive slab for £200 quid and I couldn’t afford that let alone a Yamaha QX sequencer. Aye. Young people t’day don’t know their born. They’ve never ‘ad it so good...

    • @shitmandood

      Forgot to add: you still have to pay for the iPad to play iBassist, so there's still a matter of blasting out $200 quid, or a lot more I guess.

    Started playing the guitar back in the 80s, what you can do with the ipad blows my mind, ten rears ago we didnt know what an ipad was.

    Snagged, good demo. Integration with his other apps pushes it over the edge and encourages me to invest more in them. Silly easy to get something musical going.

    What a cool program. It's going to be a real boon for i0s musicians. Would be cool if there was some way to introduce fret noises, etc like a jog wheel to tune in the density of fret noises. I'll be getting both this and a drum in the next couple of days

    I wish Logic would add other intuitive virtual musicians like their Drummer. The technology has been readily available for a long time. Professional Arranger keyboards like the Korg Pa series and others have these features but they are mostly intended for live performance. It is possible to integrate the hardware into one’s workflow, but it involves a lot of MIDI mapping, and it’s only possible on the desktop
    (so far I haven’t been able to run the internal software of the Korg on iPad Pro, as there are no drivers on iOS). Logic Pro’s Drummer is truly ingenious. I can’t get results like that on Groove Agent in Cubase 13.
    On another note, I liked iBassist so much, I immediately bought their Middle Eastern Drummer, only to find out that it is not an AUv3!😢 Do you know if they’re planning to update it?
    As always, thanks for the videos.
    🤛

  • @TozBourne
    @TozBourne 6 лет назад +3

    Thanks Doug, this first look is pretty cool. There seems to be lots more to explore: midi in and out? Can you edit the pattern, and if so how to keep it in key? Does it have Panning? Look forward to more demos to see what this can do.

    • @TheSoundTestRoom
      @TheSoundTestRoom  6 лет назад +2

      Hi Toz, you can absolutely create your own patterns and set the key changes however you like, I don't think it has panning as bass is usually panned central, however you can easily pan it in AUM

    • @TozBourne
      @TozBourne 6 лет назад +3

      thesoundtestroom - LOL, you should know the panning question is an in-joke from the AB forums! 🤓

  • @djba

    Hi Doug and thanks for the video. I have a question about iBassist but I believe the answer will go far beyond this one app. Is the reason that people complain about apps not being AUv3 because non-AUv3 apps don’t allow their settings to be saved when they are being run inside something like AUM? I really like the way iBassist coordinates with Soft Drummer. Do you know of any AUV3 Bass and Drum apps that work together like iBassist and Soft Drummer? Thanks again.

  • @Stevethesearcher

    This is great. its definitely a purchase for me. However as far as I know there is no distorted guitar iPad App like Shreddage in the App Store. There is Drums, Orchestras, Pianos, Bass, Tons of Synths but no metal guitar Library App that I know of. Hopefully one of these days someone will put one out.

    • @StormJH1
      @StormJH1 6 лет назад

      Can’t you run iBassist into a distortion FX app? I know that’s a workaround, but conceptually not different than plugging a bass guitar into a distortion pedal.

    Okay, so the range of Martinez's apps support each other and are supported by AUv3, BUT, are they Audiobus compliant? In other words, if I invest in these, can I expect to be able to use them as plugins in, say, Garageband?

    • @GaryR55
      @GaryR55 5 лет назад

      .....I'm getting this horrible feeling that the only way my question may be answered is by spending the money for iBassist, Soft Drummer and Jazz Drummer, then opening Audiobus 3 to see if any of them are actually listed as inputs.

    • @GaryR55
      @GaryR55 5 лет назад

      ....then again, in visiting the Lumbeat site, I did find mention of Audiobus, as well as Inter-App Audio, and even though it isn't mentioned there, you've shown that AUv3 is implemented, as well. Thanks, Doug. Whenever I need an answer to any question, I always know that either you or Jakob Haq will know.

    • @macmoll
      @macmoll 4 года назад +1

      These are definitely not Auv3. If they were Auv3 Doug wouldn’t have to keep switching from AUM to the other apps. If they were Auv3 they would open up in a floating window inside of AUM. I believe they are IAA and AUM can route IAA but only 1 channel (1 instance of the app at a time). With Auv3 you can use multiple instances of the app inside the host.

    Jamming, jamming, jamming and playing around with the styles of the sythis..but how should i work and make a Song ? I think it is good for jamming but there is the point where you want to make a Song...good for playing gimmicks, that is all. No manual for the apps of the guy..why ? We don‘t want ableton link as long as there is no way to sync all with midi clock. That doesn‘t work. Just ableton link OR midi clock. That makes it all to a childs gimmick. After a few hours you have had fun with it, yes, but you have no song. And if, it is all too many jumping thru many apps and their sites. At least you have no control, just picking out what sounds good and nice...but not good for real song writer...that is my opinion.

      Looks like a nice app for someone who wants to put something together quickly to jam to. Not everyone even knows how to play or program drum and bass parts but, apparently, you can edit and create your own lines. Teaching tool, as well.

    • @shitmandood
      @shitmandood 6 лет назад

      I look at these tools as just building a quick prototype, which you then sus out by hand, not actually using it straight out of the random computer generation. Otherwise, it'd be pretty goddamn boring to make music with if all you did is press buttons & let it do it on its own (like modulator synths).
