If you don’t mind me asking, (cause I want to go to UT), what class rank were you to get accepted into UT?

hey, no I don’t mind at all! my graduating class had about 640 seniors and I was top 10%, but not top 6%. I’m not sure if you’re in Texas or not, but if you are top 6%, that will guarantee you a place in the University. If you’re like me, and go through the holistic application process then make sure you put everything you can on your application, and participate in lots of extracurricular activities! UT loves well rounded and dedicated students, wishing you the best of luck

@@ariarideaux I’m the top quarter out of 708 students here in Texas. I know it’s super sad😭 but is there any advice you can give me for UT?

no it’s not sad at all. think positively and the outcome will be better 9 times out of 10! as for tips, get involved in extracurricular activities, UT loves well rounded students. focus on having a strong essay, and fully answer the four short answer questions. if possible, try and submit your college application before November 1st, that’s priority deadline and ups your chances of getting in. other than that, trust the process and sell yourself to UT; remember they are just as lucky to have you, as you are to go there! good luck!

@@ariarideaux thank you so much! Do you mind me asking what extracurriculars you were in to give a good shot to UT? (I’m only in band at my highschool, probably next semester I’ll do more UIL extracurriculars)

I played volleyball in and out of school, I was in NHS and Student Council and a couple other things. Band is great though, it shows dedication and time management! Just focus on getting involved in things you want to do!

Do you feel like you made the right decision as a black woman, I rlly wanna go here but whew

honestly I do, I don’t see myself many other places. there are so many factors to weigh when choosing the right university for you, and attending one of the top business schools in the country (that’s also in a big city in my home state) was huge for me personally. the black community here is really uplifting, so they are great to lean on in times of need. there are gonna be times when you are uncomfortable at any school you go to whether it is a PWI or an HBCU, but you just have to remember that growth happens outside of the comfort zone. I think the experience as a black woman at a PWI is what you make of it, and it hasn’t stopped me from being outgoing, meeting new people, making friends and working towards my goals. plus, the amount of resources and networking possible at UT are a bonus for anyone, so don’t limit yourself. if you know that you could see yourself here then go for it! I fully encourage you and I wish you the absolute best, maybe I’ll see you around campus!
