    this would've been a perfect review if you recorded the fan noise like you did the speaker audio. I'll keep searching for actual fan noise and not just a confirmation of the number of decibels.

    • @ScurvyMcGruff
      @ScurvyMcGruff 8 месяцев назад +2

      FYI NotebookcheckReviews does fan noise tests on their videos where the host gently taps some keys while the fans are going to give you a sound reference. It's an actually useful real world sound test.

      @draco2xx decibels don't equate to tonality.

      @draco2xx also, with that same argument, don't the specs tell us what cpu it has, the type of screen, the size of the machine, etc. Why bother with a review?

    Thanks for this amazing review. So far the most in depth review for this model I came across!
    I have two questions from the perspective of a creative workflow user rather than a gamer.
    Intended use is 3D modeling, rendering, photo and video editing while away from my main workstation.
    1. The grainy effect appearing in gray tones. Was this intrusive or something minor?
    2. While not sure whether you have experience with the 4K Mini LED screen this laptop also offers, what are your thoughts on choosing one over another? I am unsure which is better for a few years of use - OLED vs Mini LED.
    Thank you.

    • @Dovecomputers
      @Dovecomputers  10 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks. The grainy effect won't be a problem, minor issue. In fact this review model is going to be used for 3D Modelling, Maxon, C4D and ZBrush. This is replacing a Razer Blade 2021 model that had an OLED panel too. The only reason for replacing it is performance. I don't have experience of Mini-LED but IMO it's not worth the big upgrade cost that Razer is charging. The Samsung 240Hz OLED is superb as it is. Plus the laptop will be connected to two external monitors. 👍

      @@Dovecomputers Quick follow up. I ended up getting two Razer Blade 16s for work (1x 4090 and 1x 4080).
      As per your recommendation, I went with the OLED panels. This was the only factor where I was unsure about and so far I am very happy about the purchase.
      While these machines are on the very pricey side, I think I made the right call in terms of getting something which I will be able to use for work in and outside the office without sacrificing performance and feeling ashamed of bringing a gaming laptop to a client meeting.
      Thanks again for your input.

      Dont get this gen Mini Led from Razer, those are horrible and unsusable for creative work or even content consumption. Lines all over the screen when pictures changes (scrolling in web or gaming), bad colours. Its very bright yes, but unless you get an AOE pannel you end up with horrible BOE that is miles behind OLED

    I've always told people that because of Razer laptops' all metal chassis, small form factor, and Intel HX processors, these laptops are ideal for older games. You'll never have to worry about overheating. Fortunately for me, I prefer older games. I don't need to use a laptop stand, cooling pad,max fan settings. No anxiety about thermal paste decaying quickly. No keeping an eye on gpu and cpu temps. It's perfect for retro games.

    • @little_fluffy_clouds
      @little_fluffy_clouds 2 месяца назад +2

      A SteamDeck OLED is a better option for retro games, cheaper and more portable; and silent and cool in operation. I use my Razer 16 for modern AAA games such as Horizon Forbidden West, The Last of Us and Diablo 4.

      This glossy OLED screen on this Razer can match the MBP16 in a dim room and has an even higher refresh rate for gaming, but the mini-LED on the MBP gets brighter for using outdoors or in very bright rooms. Razer 2023 model offered a mini-LED screen, if you prefer.

      @DipSet85 personal preference. Glossy just has a better contrast and slightly better sharpness compared to matter which is diminish due to the coating. I had to send in my Razer Blade glossy OLED from 2021 and razer exchanged it with a 2024 matte 4k 4090 and its not too bad in my opinion. I would've preferred the OLED but getting thag good of an upgrade gpu wise wouldn't have me complaining.

    I had it... and i gave it back for a refund! Here is what no one will tell you:
    Negative things:
    - Display is glossy and wobbly.
    Yes a lot Oled Displays are glossy and wobbly. In my case the Razer 16 was the baddest ive seen.
    The reflections are insane at day. Just take a look at the "Display" on the Video and try to catch the reflections. Start at: min 2:07 in the Video ^^
    The Asus G16 has a super duper Oled screen with less reflections.
    - Keyboard. The Keyboard ist very minimalistic and when u turn the backlit on, only the main charachters on the keys will lit up. So when you at low light try to find a alternative charachter u need a torchlight. For me the buttons push-way is a little bit to short...
    - Speakers. For the BEST Gamer Notebook ever, Razer decided to put the worst speakers inside. SORRY my 10 years old Lenovo T460p has better speakers then this. For Example the Asus G16 has 8 !!!! ( incl. 2 subwoofer ), yep 8 !!!! Super sound its a huge huge difference!!!
    I decided to send it back and bought a Asus Zerpherus G16.
    For me, Its more mobile, not so heavy, more battery life, super speaker sound and better software...
    Main point i will miss is the Power ot the I9 from the razer. The I9 core is little bit weaker
    If u looking for a the best Work/Game Station. The Razer is ur choice.
    if u looking for a very good multi media laptop with gamer gpu THE asus is ur choice.
    U can easy drink ur super spicy special pumpink frappochino in Starbucks and hang out with ur laptop there.
    To carry the Razer is is a mess...

      The framerate and smoothness in that video is much higher than his presented gameplay tests in the subsequent segments.
      Especially playing with the mouse trying to mimic the interactions happening on the screen is cringe.
      You ain't fooling no gamers who know exactly what type of input is required for what kind of actions being displayed on the screen.
      Reviewer, stick to your guns and when it comes to gaming only present actual gameplay and don't play a video that is displaying the game at 3 times the framerate than is actually possible on the laptop.
      Gamers deserve to see the full picture of what is achievable by the laptop and that is not from watching a video rendered at the highest resolution.
