After watching this made for T.V. miniseries when it first came out, I remember going into my bedroom to watch it in private, during the Crucifixion scene I was sobbing uncontrollably, and a few nights later I had a dream I was looking down my street, and as I did, I saw a beautiful white light, similar to stage lighting, come up my block and come right up to me, the next morning I woke up and my heart was full of the love of God, and I told my mother that God had called me to his service! The Lord Jesus has worked many many miracles in my life since then, I pray that those watching this may experience God's cleansing Love, conviction, and Salvation! Amen! Praise God Forever!

I met Robert Powell years ago and he told me that this great production took 2yrs to complete.Probably the best version ever on the story of Jesus.Powell said that everthing was meticulously down in details.And a star cast that were carefully chosen and very good script that was easy to follow but not weak on storyline.Yes a terrific production by all.And Mr.Powell did a very good acting show.
Robert Powell was AWESOME DELUXE in this movie in his portrayal of JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD!! My 3-year-old asks me to watch this movie every single day . By far the best movie about Jesus life . "The miracle maker" is a good one too (especially for children).
I also loved this movie. We taped 'Jesus of Nazareth' and 'Moses: The Lawgiver' on VHS tapes and I watched them until the tapes could not be watched anymore.

Thank you for posting Jesus of Nazareth. I'm a 1975 child and I recall this version played in NZ either Easter or Xmas. Last I saw this was Easter 1988 as we migrated to Australia. Seeing it now, it's still my favourite. Production. It's blowing my mind it went for 6 hours. 🌟
Me too. On Easter morning something woke me up early in the morning before anyone in my family got up. I came downstairs and turned the tv on. This was playing. During the crucifix part I was balling my eyes out. All I wanted to do was be the guy on the cross beside Jesus so I could be with Him too that day. I was 5 or 6. I was born again that day.
My nan knew Babs Mr Powells wife really well.. Robert was a family friend for years... Lovely man... I knew him well... Haven't spoken to him since my dads funeral in 2019 . .. Can't describe his natural humility & kind way... When Lew Grade spoke to him in early 1977 prior to shooting... He said... im actually pretty agnostic... Just as time passed and he deepened his character research he said that he felt an unrelenting warmth... He said afterwards that he was strengthened in his own way of belief... It says Robert Powell was born on Thursday, June 1st, 1944. I was born ONE day before D-Day, on Saturday, June 5th, 1944. I also love this movie and watched it during Holy Week in six one-hour slots! Every year like they would show on TV, Wizard of Oz on Easter Sunday, sometimes, Jesus of Nazareth would come out on Easter Saturday. This is such a beautiful movie.

My Dad's younger Brother is a Fijian Soldier 🪖 and he brought Movie Tapes from Lebanon one of those tapes is Jesus of Nazareth.Some other tapes like K9 James Belushi,Free Willy,Mrs Doubtfire and lots more. This is a powerful movie with so many outstanding performances by so many legends. Powell embodies Jesus. That's all I can say on that. Plummer gives the performance of his lifetime...Michael York..exceptional. Olivia Hussey..perfect in beauty and character for Mary. And there's so much more....never tire of watching it over..God speaks through this movie

After watching this made for T.V. miniseries when it first came out, I remember going into my bedroom to watch it in private, during the Crucifixion scene I was sobbing uncontrollably, and a few nights later I had a dream I was looking down my street, and as I did, I saw a beautiful white light, similar to stage lighting, come up my block and come right up to me, the next morning I woke up and my heart was full of the love of God, and I told my mother that God had called me to his service! The Lord Jesus has worked many many miracles in my life since then, I pray that those watching this may experience God's cleansing Love, conviction, and Salvation! Amen! Praise God Forever!

I met Robert Powell years ago and he told me that this great production took 2yrs to complete.Probably the best version ever on the story of Jesus.Powell said that everthing was meticulously down in details.And a star cast that were carefully chosen and very good script that was easy to follow but not weak on storyline.Yes a terrific production by all.And Mr.Powell did a very good acting show.

I also loved this movie. We taped 'Jesus of Nazareth' and 'Moses: The Lawgiver' on VHS tapes and I watched them until the tapes could not be watched anymore.
2023 and finally watching it at 41 years old in the middle of the night. Thank you to the Lord God for coming to this earth as the son of God my savior and the Christ Yeshua to take on the punishment of our sins in our place. Thank you for saving me and never leaving me. Amen🙏

Flash Forward, I am now 51 y.o., I continue to praise my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ on a daily basis but I don't need/want to attend a structure to praise when I am able to go anywhere in this phenomenal world to do that!

Me too. On Easter morning something woke me up early in the morning before anyone in my family got up. I came downstairs and turned the tv on. This was playing. During the crucifix part I was balling my eyes out. All I wanted to do was be the guy on the cross beside Jesus so I could be with Him too that day. I was 5 or 6. I was born again that day.

Jesus wasn't religious either. But you need to surrender your life to Jesus, to get saved and be able to know Him and be able to go to heaven.
I remember this would come on around Easter as a five part miniseries on NBC in the 80’s. I love this movie and the best Jesus movie of all time.
Also into the 90's. I remember our family would watch this around Easter and later in the year a mini series Lonesome Dove would also air. Sad they dont show it anymore

Though I've seen my fav movie at least 40 times, never before has it caused streams of tears to fall down my face as tonight. Maybe it is my suffering, or maybe the suffering, lies, deception and death I see being caused by the Powers That Be who control this hurting world. I close my prayers every night with, please come Lord, ASAP, and call up and rapture us away, and then come and takeover, and stop this evil slaughter and rule and reign in righteousness.

in all those years (when I was a kid) they have shown it on Christmass, but since a few years now they don't show it anymore ! because they rather show X-men, Batman, Lord of the rings, harry potter and all those crap

Then when we came back from our Easter activities we would come home and watch Wizard of Oz . Every year like they would show on TV, Wizard of Oz on Easter Sunday, sometimes, Jesus of Nazareth would come out on Easter Saturday.

My Dad's younger Brother is a Fijian Soldier 🪖 and he brought Movie Tapes from Lebanon one of those tapes is Jesus of Nazareth.Some other tapes like K9 James Belushi,Free Willy,Mrs Doubtfire and lots more.
Every Sunday he played Jesus of Nazareth all the kids went to my Dad's younger Brother to watched it.

Also the only person to obey God's commands without fail is Jesus for reason he's God! Plummer gives the performance of his lifetime...Michael York..exceptional. Olivia Hussey..perfect in beauty and character for Mary. And there's so much more....never tire of watching it over..God speaks through this movie
