I've been buying the LAPG LA POLICE GEAR MEN'S OPERATOR PANT WITH LOWER LEG POCKETS for years now. They are not stretch like the ones you're showing, just ripstop poly/cotton (not teflon coated, so cooler in warm weather) . They are only $32usd. Double knees and diamond gusset crotch. I don't need or use the lower leg AR magazine pockets, but this style is the only one that has the inner divider sleeves inside the side cargo pockets. This holds my tactical flashlight, pepper spray, and swiss army knife upright in the inside sleeves and not laying piled sideways in the bottom grinding on each other. The waistband is stretchy, but I like to wear my belt loosely and hold them up with Carhartt Workwear suspenders. Even holding up a holstered sidearm, they stay up where they belong. These are the only pants I'll wear: newer ones for dressier stuff and motorcycling, and the older ones for working in the welding shop and the garden. I always have all of my EDC stuff with me in my pockets.

I’ve switched to rock climbing/hiking jeans, Prana specifically... regular looking jeans, and comfortable and as all hell especially in muggier/hotter weather. The cut and stretching of fabric allows full movement if you need to get out of dodge and doesn’t scream I’ve got knives and gun and shit

Tactical pants are high on my list of must haves now. I maintain a food forest and large woodlot. Being able to carry several small tools everywhere is a big help.
One can buy spray on Teflon at Canadian tire to spray the pants every so many washes.

For a "tactical" pair of pants they are very light in color. I'd suggest getting a coyote or olive color if they come in those. To light and not very tactical in a wooded environment

Thank you for these videos, you've sold me on these pants! Wanted to mention that the prong collars you're using on your dogs are poorly fitted. They should sit high and tight at the top of the dogs neck to avoid damage to their trachea etc. If you're looking for something better than the ones you have now, take a look at Herm-Sprenger; they distribute pressure more evenly and away from the trachea. Great video as always, thank you for the great content!

I bought a pair and love them, but they do run a little small. Thinking about getting one size larger to see if it fits better. They do have elastic in the waist so even if they are small they stretch and when smaller I don't need to wear a belt as the elastic holds the pant tight to the waist. Thinking about ordering the next size up to see how that one works. It'll either be just right or a little too big.

Lol I have those and I prefer the v2 tactical pants by first. Or the abr 's by 5.11... the one you are talking about have restrictive zippers it's either movement or storage. The v2's are not. The bar's are also like that and have minimal space, but are much better for agile movements. The v2 has a much much stronger cloth while the abr's have a better fight against stains. The v2's have knee pads that are easy to remove. The are the #1 best tactical pants if you're OK spending $50 and are ok with about half a pound of more weight for strength!. They are also much hotter than the abr's.

Pants and long sleeve shirts have to be armor on the farm. The heaver the better. They do restrict movement but you don't bleed near as much. Been in a couple of gas plant fires, heavy cloths saved me both time. Light weight cloths don't help much in an extended fire. But I have to carry an old style tailor made possibles bag with compartment sewn in to take the place of the extra pockets. I guess it's give and take.

    Spotted the paracord belt. Nice.
Not sure what weave that is but I use the Slatts rescue weave because it deploys much quicker than any I’ve come across. If you ever try to take those conventional cord belts apart it’s almost not worth the time and effort because the weaves are meant for style instead of function.
    My 2 cents.

I by nearly all my gear from LAPG...outstanding quality and prices you just can't beat....boots are some of the most comfortable I have worn....little to no break-in period....tactical pants are great. for an edc knife...you can beat their brand, holds a good edge and snaps to attention...
the only problem with LAPG is the cost...they sell out quickly. so if you see it and don't get it, don't be surprised if ya go back and its gone...

if the pockets are too deep you can go inside the pants, fold the pocket up and put a simple stitch across just a little hack that's helped me with some pockets that are too deep! you can even just to one and leave the other. these are really good pants the only thing I don't like is the direction of the cargo pocket zipper! imo it should have zipped the other way..

Upon your recommendation CP, I bought 2 pair of the shorts. They fit fine and appear they will be able to serve me well. However, there is one issue I have, they are made in China. I am scaling back my purchases from China. I don't know how you view things in Canada, but the U.S. is at war with China; whether you want to admit this or not. The little thing I can do is not send them my money. I know this will be hard to do in the beginning; but it's going to be a long war. I hope my Canadian friends to the north with also realize this over time and join the fight.

I am the kind of guy who tries to find clothes that fit everything I do. From working on cars to hiking to wearing a suit at work. I have been wearing these pants in black ever since their release. Every day. Literally. I wear them with my suit at work because they "kinda look professional" and their cargo quantities are not super noticeable unless you cram the pockets full of gear. They are ultra comfy, they handle the abuse from working in the cemetery, they handle hiking thru brush, and they can even look good with a suit. I give these pants a 10 on quality, fitment and comfort, 9 on looking business professional...because duh, they're not suit pants, but they sneak by easily enough, and a 9 on price, durability and "pocketyness". I have ripped one pair by catching the pleated area of a thigh pocket on a protruding piece of metal. The pants still remain functional. I have also just ordered more because I think they fit my purpose almost perfectly.

You should compare those to a pair of Carhartt rugged flex steel cargo pants, Dickies cargo pants(buy directly from dickies, the stuff from Walmart is cheaper, but its also lower quality, ie. thinner materials), and Duluth trading cargo pants. And don't use any fabric softener, it weakens the materials and makes then fade faster, it also causes lint to form... you can probably also do a comparison of laundry detergent, some are designed to be "optic brighteners" and will fade your clothes fast and lesson its lifespan.

Been wearing the STS for 4-5 years now from LA Police gear. Now that you have put the word out they will never be in stock. They were already hard to keep in stock. When you order them get 2" larger in the waist than you are used to and 2" shorter in the leg. I too wear 36x32 in this pant 34x34 when I used to wear other pants. This is my only pairr of pants I own now. I get 6 months of looking good and another 6 months of working in the yard or camping out of them and they really still don't look this bad. Wife says my ass looks good in them too.

I know I'm late on this video but I was looking for an inexpensive tactical type pant for everyday wear without looking like a SWAT/Special Ops wanna be. Thanks for the review.

Regarding zippers, buttons are more easily repaired. Especially in the field.

👀 Did I just see your knife on the bottom shelf on that last shot next to my outgoing order?? Finders keepers..... lol. I hope you find your blade. Thanks for the content. I may have to try those. I’m a 5.11 guy for now. One planet 🌍 one family.
