    Well done. Brief, focused, concise. No nervousness, confident to start, shows good fueling @ town, sounds fair when throttle opened. The bike checks a lot of boxes for 'everyman'. Thanks for sharing your ride on it.

    It's such a joy to ride, I've just started to customise my 2023 jet black speed twin 1200 with British customs tail tidy and predator pro pipes many extras from the Triumph catalogue, cnc machined brake resovior, machined headlight surround, the Triumph fully adjustable black leavers, I've added fully adjustable YSS rear piggy back shocks and I will add ohlins to the front and put road 6 tyres on it when the stock ones run out. I've installed 2 in 1 rear brake and turn signal kit from Triumph. I think I'm almost at the point of it handing better than a thruxton but still being a relaxed ride.
    Love the vid mate, keep it up and hello from Australia

      Awesome and thank you for the comment. The black does look really awesome and the upgrades you going to do is going to just make it that bit more special. Thanks for watching and enjoy the ride on the bike. I have been on the 900 scrambler and that also sounds so nice. I am a big BMW fan but the Triumphs just feels so much like a feeling bike rather than having all the tech that makes the ride very clinical. But it might just be me. Enjoy

    It is a beautiful bike. There is many PROs, but also some CONs. As i did very intensive test with this and many other bikes in that segment last year, i would like to share with all of you some insides (where not all of them you notice if you only testdrive for less then 1h). Of course this is all my experience and opinion - please dont feel offended by anything i say - and of course everbody is welcome to disagree in any point.
    PRO
    # Exceptional engine - you have great power from 1.000 to 8.000 rpm - the torque is superb
    # Wonderful look and finish all over the bike. Triumph at its best.
    # Wondeful sound, as Andre said, you can hear it very well, but its not soo loud that it will get anoying when driving 1+ hour
    # Very good brakes, good control / fine dosing - and strong.
    # Barend mirrors from stock, they look great and also give you a superper backview
    CON:
    # The engine even water cooled gets quite hot. During sommer-days with 25+ Celius temperature, you will notice it on the legs (mostly right leg) during city drive or slow speed country-lane. When you go 55mph+ its pretty ok due to drive wind cooling. On 30+ celsius days you will notice it a lot in city stop & go. For me its a NO-GO if i would life in for example spain or portugal. For Germany its ok, for England it may be even a PLUS on ~270 days a year ;-).
    # Even with the only 160 wide back tire, the turn into bends is not as flickable as the Street and Speed Triple. Your really notive the difference. Even beeing a lot lighter then the T120 and that having a 18 inch front wheel, the turining characteristics Speed Twin is closer to the T120 than to the Triples.
    # Terrible stock-tire choice: Ractec RR. In Spain/Portugal those might be ad OK (but not adequate). They are jast WAY to race-type. Who needs such sticky tires on a Speed Twin, whichs is made for power crusing, not for racing? The tyre uses up very quickly, and WORSE: It doesnt heat up to working temperature fast. For England and daily normal use its a terrible choice. Micheln Road 5, Pirelli GT 2 etc would be excellent, Well this is a small thing and you can change it easy for a couple of hundert Euros/Pounds.
    Overall a wonderful bike that i could imagine to own. But there is more then 5+ bikes i would like to have but always limited space to accomodate and money to pay ;-)

      Perfect and all good points, If I do think about other hotter countries then the comments would be spot on too. When its hot and you sit in traffic and the bike is not running cool that heat moves up and you get hot. As you say here in the UK we have about a week or so with really hot weather so no problems. I agree with the rear tyre too. It looks good on the bike but with a more cooler weather tyre it would be better.

      Totally agree with you on this, you missed the suspension! For the price it's crap, it should have the olins from the Thruxton RS , after all it's supposed to be a performance bike.

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert Год назад +1

      That would have been a nice extra to have on the bike to just finish it off.

    • @mitchsmith71
      @mitchsmith71 Год назад +2

      I gotta put my opinion in on the tyres.... For me, I ride this bike like im on a super sportsbike, and these tyres are absolutely fantastic. They heat up fast and the bike is so flickable and can be cranked right over with ease. When I need a new set (which is soon) I will be replacing with the same... So, maybe if you ride this bike like its a 'power cruiser' then perhaps the standard fitment tyres isn't a great choice, but if you ride it like youre on the TT, then they're great.... My only recommendation is to replace the awful rear shocks.

    Hi Andre.
    I like this bike, but I have a T120 so although the ride position and ergos are different, it is too similar for me. I do however like the look of the GT Pro (low). Although 5’9” my inside leg is 29”. I haven’t tested one yet as I also have a 900 Scrambler on PCP. Once that is nearing the end I will look at the GT. Not wedded to Triumph necessarily but I do like the bikes and brand.
    Great vid, nice easy relaxed style.
    Regards
    Den

      Hi Denis, thanks for the comments. I had the 900 Scrambler out some time back and enjoyed the bike allot. It made me thing to look at one like that after my Tiger660. For me this bike is awesome but its again too much weight. For me the 900 Scrambler was a better ride. It sounds pretty much the same but its cheaper and the money you save you can kit the Scrambler out with some nice style upgrades. This new 300-400cc Scrambler that we have seen some spy pictures of also looks like a good option if you want to do a spot of greenlaning. Keep well and I hope you are enjoying the Scrambler. Oh and yes the Triumph range of bikes are really nice. I am a bike BMW fan but find the overall feel of the bikes to be like a cosy blanket. Weird but hey ho.

      Yes the RS is a really nice bike. I was very close to getting one but I kept with a GS at that time. I do like the adv idea but never going to really take the bike bike offroad as I dont really want to be dropping it around in the mud and rocks. Can also be that my riding requirements has changed. I like to explore on the small lanes where the Calimoto app takes me and you can get some really nice roads out of the way of car and impatient drivers.

    Kinda hard for engineers to put the front brake reservoir somewhere else, if the cylinder is at the lever. Maybe you don't understand how hydraulic brakes function?

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert Год назад

      That might be the case but we have very intelligent people that must be able to find a way to or integrate it or move it somewhere else. For instance the e-MTB's has it built into the lever now its not going to fully work for the bigger brakes but its a design change. Thanks for the comment.
