I cannot get the splatter brush to work like yours. I’ve tried messing with the settings and no luck.

I was following along with you and then it said that I was at my max layers. What should I do?
Oh no...hmmm that's strange that it'd be different. You could always make your canvas smaller, it will increase the number of layers available or you could merge some of your layers. Hope that helps! xo
