Awesome video! Love seeing what others’ taste in film brings. I’m a huge fan of the Criterion Collection so I always try to participate every time B&N has its sale. I didn’t get as many as usual this time around but picked up Bound, Peeping Tom, Pat Garret and Billy the Kid, and Videodrome. Love your recommendations for Ghost World, the Arrow video box set (both which I own) and Lisa Frankenstein which my wife and I loved. Seeing that throwback to the 80s always provides a great time. I’m also constantly in film noir mode so there have been several I’ve been watching/rewatching over the past weeks. I’ll definitely look forward to more movie videos in the future.
Thanks Steve! Glad you enjoyed this - more to come! I was eyeballing Bound and Videodrome when I was at B&N - along with all of the David Lynch films, but had to draw the line somewhere ($$). :) Very cool that you have the Arrow box set as well - so much fun.
Bret , ive had the cd for Ghost World for a few years (i got it for the opening track by Mohammed Rafi) but never watched the film until last night ........i really wish Enid had gotten to go to Art college
In "Ghost World" is a poster for "The World of Henry Orient" (1964). A Must-watch delightful and poignant look at the bloom of youth in a bygone age, and that year's U.S entry for the Palme d'Or. Plus, Peter Sellers as an Oscar Levant-knockoff, with Angela Lansbury and Tom Bosley 20 years before "Murder She Wrote". ruclips.net/video/8Tpipw801NY/видео.html
@@BretHelmsLifeOnThisPlanetBlog Whit Stillman's "Metropolitan" (1990), also in Criterion, evokes a similar aura of young, if misguided, love and enthusiasm in upper-crust Manhattan - even with a Peter Duchin connection in common.
I really liked this video! Pls have it as a regular topic…!
Glad you enjoyed, Markus! Will definitely be back with more!

Hey John! Good to hear that you watched Ghost World. Did you like Doug (the guy always hanging out at the convenience store?).
Your mic sounds much better
Great. Thanks!

Thanks for mentioning. Speaking of Peter Sellers, I also picked up the Criterion edition of another all-time favorite of mine: Being There.
